We can personally say that you do not have go be clever or handy to follow this tip. He explained it very well and we were able to fix my friend's shark very easily. One tip would be to use a super small flat head screw driver to pop it open. Extremely helpful video for anyone to follow. Saved my friend a lot of money on replacement part for now.
Thanks for the video - I watched your other one too and figured out my switch was fine but there was some thing stuck underneath that I got out with a toothpick so its working - I appreciate you taking the time to help all of us!
Thank you so much for this! On mine, the lock at the top broke, and I couldn't pull the handheld portion out to use it. I popped the cover off like you did here, to find that the red tab had broken in half, just like yours did. You saved me a ton of money, dude! Many thanks!
I almost had the same pattern of breakage. Should I trust gluing? I do not like the cheap plastics at key lever or fulcrum points. Most manufacturers still cut corners😢. One option is to take a thin rope and just have them strung taut around the wire wounding anchors. It seems to work for me. Nice video, thank you.
Want to add for anyone else with this problem that if you've lost the spring from this fitting, like I had, you can try using the spring from a pen. Seems to have fixed it for me.
Why and how is it that an otherwise excellent machine is brought to rubble over 1/2 in plastic tab! Why not make it metal if everyone is YouTubing how to fix it? And why is it 25 bucks to replace a known design flaw! Not cool Shark! 👎🏼 This is totally ridiculous. I will try this fix and will be even more upset when it fails again. 😢 thanks for your help.
I have the same issue with the wand slipping out but I did what you said and popped off the switch but it wasn't broken so not sure why it's not working?
Thats my problem but not the fix my button isnt broke but it isnt lovking whats wrong it wont go down far enough to lockall the slots are clear that the runners dlide on what is wrong please help
