I got a new PC base unit only, when I connected to my monitor, got a fuzzy screen with horizontal lines and triple images icons etc. Followed your steps and it fixed everything. Display is perfect now. THANK YOU 🙏❤️
If this doesn't work, try changing the refresh rate for the external monitor to 60Hz by going in display settings >display adapter settings > monitor > refresh rate
Thank you! Thank You! I went to the resolution settings twenty times but never scrolled to the top to see the actual recommended resolution. I watched your video and had it fixed in twenty seconds. Thanks much and good day from Atlanta Ga
FOR CLARIFICATION FOR EVERYONE HAVING ISSUES WITH THIS. the fix i found was to do what was in the video. BUT THEN remove the cable and swap it to a different video port/hdmi port and then go into settings and it will now have the option to change resolution again.
You’ve saved me a whole lot of time. I have a fairly old monitor so I still use vga😂😭 my issue was that I plugged it into my motherboard instead of my graphics card. I’m slowly upgrading my setup piece by piece. My pc is almost there I just need some new monitors, keyboard and mouse 👌
Thank you so much!!!! i got scared why my pc monitor is so stretched and my icons and other stuff are so large. I thought it was my fault as i had shaken the wires to do something. Something like this had happened to me before and i didn't want it to happen again. I watched his video and my problem got fixed Thank you again
It works. Omg! My screen is cropped on the left and there is a black space on the right. I watched it because I'm having trouble in shutting my computer down due to the cropped display. Thank you so much
I bought a new monitor and after just 2 days I faced this issue I was so scared I thought there is some issue with the monitor. This was really helpful. Thanks brother
Thanks. Mine wasn't stretched, but was shortened in the width. I saw the recommended resolution highlighted in blue and tapped on a different number and then tapped on the recommended and it worked and the width came back to the original size.
Super useful, I got an ultrawide monitor and couldn't figure out why it was stretched, spend about 30 minutes trying to figure it out before I found this
What worked for you? I got a curved monitor and the resolution settings are at reccomended and for the drivers it says it’s up to date. Might just return everything if I don’t find a solution
@@lone.1629 I just kept looking back at it every now and then, some times it thought the resolution was supposed to be 1920x1080 so I closed settings and just checked back in a bit later till it said the right resolution
Guys for method 1, even tho he asks us to click on the recommend resolution, you should try out different resolution even if its not recommended, i click on a resolution that is not recommended and it fixed my issue
My dad's PC has a shader model 2 Nvidia GPU and some of the resolutions are read incorrectly by the monitor. E.g 1600 900 is read as 1680 1050. The strange thing is, 800 600 and 1024 768 are read correctly but are stretched out to 16:9 instead of 4:3
nothing helped 😟. The recommended resolution in my settings isnt the right one. The resolution of my desktop is 1920 x 1200. I cant even choose that resolution anymore. This happened when I restarted my computer.
Omygodddddd i did ittt.. I also had adjusting brightness problem for at least 6 months but did not know how to fix it, you also fixed thattt Thank youuu
Sadly, it still does not work. My display resolution still only has 2 options 1024 x 768 and 800 x 600. Can someone help me? I don't think it is a hardware problem btw. Thanks so much.
the recommended resolution was the actual cause of the stretched screen problem lol, when I changed it to 1366 x 768 (not recommended) it worked, its safe to you can play around with the resolution for a bit before going to the drivers? thanks for the video though
So... not to be the odd one out, but what do we do if this still doesn't correct the mismatch? Windows and display drivers are up to date while screen res is on recommended (does match the monitor) and yet still half of the task bar is buried and icons on the edge of the screen are chopped in half.
My stretched out screen happened just after the Welcome window filter disappeared. That's what I ended up doing is updating my Windows to fix the stretch error and it is now fixed. In fact I downloaded and installed the most recent version of Windows. But the filter is back on the Welcome screen. Hate that filter. You made a firm believer of me. I will make sure to check for updates and install them for now on. Thanks
I found out that I possibly disabled my display driver after shutting down my computer. I went into device manager and reenabled the device. Hopefully this helps anyone who still needs help!
OMG I ACTUALLY MISSED THAT! Thank you sooo much now my screen actually works ok, i think it was something i deleted but hey I have it back now so thanks!!
If these things don’t work for you… Unplug the monitor for a minute then plug it in again. Worked for me on a curved monitor. I was only getting a stretched left half.
I did all of these none of them worked. My monitor is making everything big and it is stretched and im getting an error the error says "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"
Hey thank you so much i was having problems was running windows 11 on a old Graphics card which was a 730 and did what you suggested and updated my systems and know its fixed
