Hey, I have a question regarding the arm. My turntable plays the records almost until the end of the record, and just before a song is over, the arm starts to jump back slightly, which sounds like a scratch. I thought it was the record itself but after a few times it happened on different records, i saw that it is actually the arm that jumps. do u have an idea what it could be and how I can fix it ?
I don't know what brand and model of your turntable but since it is automatic then try to check the part of the tonearm mostly it is a small metal rod that push the mechanical part of the cam gear that trigger the cam gear to rotate. Sometimes that cam gear part is stuck or needs cleaning. Remove the platter and move the tonearm to the spindle you can see their the part that push the cam gear. Clean the cam gear and the mechanism that push the cam gear. And also check your tonearm wires when you move the tonearm back and forth.
