FAQ's:
Q: Does this video apply to my issues?
A: This video is for computers with no signs of life that appear 'dead'. It will also help if you see minimal signs of life such as lights only or some hard drive / fan sounds but they stop right a way. If you are able to see anything on the screen at any point or if the hard drive / fan sound remain on, your issue could be something else. Leave me a message with your exact symptoms and I can direct you to the correct video :)
Q: I have tried all the steps seen here without identifying the issue :(
A: If, after trying all these steps multiple times, you have not been able to find the issue, your most likely looking at a faulty component preventing the motherboard from working or a motherboard issue. I would start troubleshooting each component, starting with the charger and power jack. You can see those two videos here; • How To Test your Lapto... & • How to Fix Test Your H... . You can also try replacing other components like your Power Button to see if that is the route cause. If none of those are the issue, you would then be left with a motherboard replacement.
Q: The computer will only turn on when the charger is plugged in.
A: If your computer will only turn on when the charger is plugged in after all these steps, then I would next try to replace the battery as its most likely bad. Let me know if you would like assistance finding a compatible battery replacement :)

Hey,thanks. It worked for my acer notebook. It was so simple. I removed the battery,pressed power button for a minute,put the battery back,charger plugged it in ,it started! Wallah ! Last night when I woke up.reached for my water bottle,it toppled and water spiller onto my laptop.in the dark. I immediately wiped it clean ,kept it for drying under the fan. Comevearly morning,I started the laptop,it turned on as normal,I switched off. I went back to sleep. An hour later,it wasn't powering on . I looked up this video and followed the simple instruction,it started! So happy!

F2 on start-up worked. went into BIOS and enabled boot drive. A local computer repair place was going to charge me $135 for diagnostics, and then wipe the drive of all my files. it literally took me 2 minutes to fix. THANK YOU!!! Acer Nitro.

My acer nitro 5 (2019) won’t turn on unless it is plugged in, and when plugged in it won’t charge, it just very slowly runs out of power. It will also turn off every 45 or so seconds, but it’s not really turning off, the display just turns off and it goes back to the Lock Screen. I think it might have a lot to do with over heating? Do you know what I should try?

Thanks, my acer r3 after being switched off wont sometimes start when power button is pressed and takes 30mins or hours before it can start, I don't know if there is anything I can do about it to solve the problem?

I have the acer aspire, if the laptop goes into sleep mode theres a big chance I have to force shut it down so I can get it to working again. My screen goes black then but my keyboard is still lit so i know the computer is still on. Do you maybe know something about that?

sir, i know this is late.. if ever you see this comment. can you me help me? I always get screen freezing whenever I update my GPU. I already used DDU, but the display driver only recognizes the stock version VGA from acer. also when I restart the laptop, im getting white horizontal lines glitching on startup.. any help would be greatly appreciated

HELP!! My acer Q1VZC cromebook book died. it wasn’t the battery or the charger. i hade files downloaded on it that i need. i bought another Q1VZC and swapped the hard drive, memory and the wifi card to the working laptop but when i go to the files app there are no files to be found. is there something else i need to do or am i screwed?

Gave a like, although didn't fix the issue, I was at least able to turn the laptop on by disconnecting the battery and plugging in the charger. The laptop is over 3 years old, so just using it till I get a new one. Thanks again!

The first trick worked. All the sites I saw kept saying hold the power button for 15-20 seconds, but it wasn't working. I held it as long as you suggested and it worked. Thanks guy 👍

Thank you for your assistance...I've tested the charger, power jack, four places on the MB with red and black wires and have attempted a BIOS reset but my Acer Spin 3 still won't power on. At this point I suspect either the RAM or CPU. Is it possible the power switch is bad? Is it possible to isolate that as a cause? Is there a way to test the RAM or CPU w/o replacing them? If you have any other thoughts I'd appreciate the help.

I forgot to mention where I checked power on the MB. I checked the power going to the battery...1V; going to the CMOS battery...3V; going to the fan...5V; one other that goes into the MB...0V.

IMPORTANT! Don't conclude just quickly that one of your RAM sticks has gone bad. Clean the contact areas of the rams and the slots very well and alternate their positions and be convinced before you go ahead to buy a new RAM. I just did mine today and everything is working fine now. I didn't have to buy a new RAM.

Thank you for the video, my Acer Aspire 4820T does have switching on issue occasionally, when I press the power button, the power indicator turns on for about 1/2 a second and off again. It goes into a loop of switching on and off until I remove the battery and adaptor. I tried to switch on the Laptop with and without adaptor and still, it exhibits the same looping problem, the screen remains blank and no clicking noise from the motherboard or DVD drive. At times it turns on just fine. Are the symptoms described related to static build-up? I will perform the steps provided in your video the next time I encounter a similar startup issue. Thks.

Hello please respond, I accidentally spill juice on my acer laptop and at first it’s that there is no booted device then it completely shut off I dried it off Blow dried it, I left it in fan and it still didn’t turn on so I left for a while in the fan came back to check on it and saw that the light at the side went from orange and blue to pink/light purple and orange.

After a liquid spill, you want to first make sure the computer is 100% dry. You would turn your computer off immediately by pressing and holding the power button until the computer turns off. Then you would disassemble the computer as much as your comfortable with, at least trying to remove the bottom case. Then you would turn it on its side and let dry for a couple days. Have you done this yet or are you sure the computer is dry?

Apparently my laptop tries to kill itself every time I miss a driver update, I’ve had every hardware error blue screen of death going and I’ve taken the laptop apart I don’t know how many times... the only solution is to keep trying to get it to boot so I can update

I have a Acer aspire 5750-6842 I put a new USB ports in tried to turn it it didn't come on the charger is new that I have. And there is white box that flashes on the screen I did ever steps that was on my laptop to reset it still did the same thing all over again. And the battery is good. Advice if you ran into a issue like this one.
