Worked like a charm. Had to uninstall my previous ATK and restart, after which I could just install this one as the video says. If that's a problem for anyone :)
@@eliaspedersen4264 Go to C:\eSupport\eDriver\Software\ASUS. Enter ATK Package directory and find setup.exe. Launch it, it asks whether to repair or uninstall : choose uninstall. After this run, you must restart Windows.
BRO!!! It worked! I have been trying to fix this for a minute. I have seen so many wrong answers... I was going into BIOS, Adjust text in program files, trying things in control panel and everything else. So glad I found this video. It was fixed immedately and the keyboard lit up. One of the rare times on the internet I got a straight forward answer! I was hitting the 'next' button on the setup for the ATK drivers as you said "next" each time then you said "your keyboard lights should turn on when it's done installing" and it literally turned on right when you said that, thanks for this video. I know it's old, but had a dead battery and dead original HDD for a long time and then finally changed to an SSD and new battery so had to reinstall Windos and have been trying ti figure out the keyboard backlight for a while now, so again, thanks for the video.
Did you manage to fix it? Recently had same problem, solved it by downloading Armory Crate. And in Device -> System -> Backlight -> Settings I had only to turn off Loading,disabling and it finally worked😂🎉

For those models without *ATK* package: -search for 'armoury crate' and open -go to device in the side menu (having mouse and keyboard sign) -click on lighting option -click the 'rest to default' button I have an Asus tuf fx505dt and it worked for me

I have the TUF Gaming F15 (2022). I just updated my BIOS as requested by the computer and now the keyboard backlight is not working. There is no ATK Package, nor does the Asus Driver site have it. What do I do?

I downloaded the newest version: 2019/9/20, and it said it is already installed when I tried to open it. But right now and before my laptop keyboard still is is NOT glowing upま.

Hey, thanks for making this video. One of the few that when the instructions were followed, the results were as described. I appreciate that. I feel like an idiot for not thinking of the solution on my own, but I'm still happy I can see my keyboard now.
Were their other variants of your model? For example the back of my laptop said something like G715J but the models that popped up ended in a Y or a T. After looking at what those variants were then I found that I had the model that ended in a Y because of the specific graphics card, processor, etc. Hopefully this helped.
what the heck it worked!!! I'm on asus windows 11 and right after I downloaded it, the backlight stopped working. There was no atk package under windows 11 for some reason, so I went to windows 10 like in the video and downloaded the latest version there. I was sadafter downloading because it didnt light up right away but as soon as the computer restarted it works again!!! Great video, thank you!

Thanks very much. Had a hard drive changed and the keyboard back light hasn't worked since. Never bothered to bring it back, but it was always a bit annoying, however you get used to it, like a broken power window on your car. Open the door at the drivethrough.... Except now, bored at home because of corona, I finally did a search. Wasn't expecting this to work, but it did. Quick and easy. I would buy you a beer if I could, thank you.

Absolutely thankful for the help of this video; only thing that should be clarified; is that you need the Model "Name" of the PC when entering it into the Asus website. I was confused by the PC Model, whether I needed the Model Number or Model Name.

What worked for me was getting TUF Aura Core from microsoft store and booting it on and off through there, turned the keyboard on like a charm. Never had the problem before either.

Thank you so much. My model is an older Win8.1 and after a harddrive crash I installed Win10. No drivers for my model with win10 so I put in your model, downloaded it and everything works fine now. Thank you again.
On the Strix g351GT you can press FN+left or right to cycle light modes (it may be turned off, this will turn it on) also FN+up or down will adjust brightness.
For FX505 DV - go to the asus armory crate available when you click the windows button under asus then go to the device - system - lightning - settings - Turn on awake. See if it works. If it doesn’t work, you might need to update some drivers. Hopefully this works for you. - found this in a comment, worked for me
