when i turn off the main line and open all my faucets, all but one faucet still has water coming out after about 5-10 minutes, its a slow light stream, is this concerning?

****My water hammer occur when I turn on the hot water sink faucet in the bathroom. Hammering stops as soon as I turn off the faucet. Pretty opposite of what every plumber describes. ***What's your advice? Thanks.

Thank you thank you thank you, had to do it twice first time I didn't open up every valve in the house The second time everything flush the toilets turned on the water hoses outside drain the bidet the shower heads everything then turned it back on, that did the trick woohoo

I live in a block of flats of 1 floor. I am on the first floor and i am getting water hammer. I've installed an arrestor and that hasn't solved the problem. I believe it might be my neighbours water metre below. I have switched of all my water and i stil get the banging in the pipes even though my neighbour is out. Could it be a faulty water meter because I'm out of options.

I have a twenty foot hot water return ,that I am getting the water hammer sound from. the water hammer only happens during winter months when the boiler is on. I also noticed that the return line has dropped out of its bracket 5 inches. will that make it hammer?

My sink knocks hard when i first turn it on. Not when I turn off the water. same issue?

So far it's worked for me. Mind you only been 5 mins. Will not for sure in a day or 2 because it was constantly making noise up until now.

The trick at the end of video worked, but only for a day. Water hammers came back next day. Any other tricks or solutions please? Appreciated !

Everytime I open hot mixer tap in upstairs bathroom i can hear tik tik noise directly downstairs in living room. Any idea what might be the cause ?

Thanks for the video. My situation is a little different. The water hammer only happens when my yard sprinklers switch on or off. The sound is not a buzz or vibration. It's just one distinct thud/bang when the sprinklers cycle on or off. Only the sprinklers seem to produce any noise in the pipes. I don't trust my soldering skills so I would rather not cut any pipes. I'm semi-retired and don't want to pay a plumber. I'm thinking of threading an arrestor directly on to an unused outdoor faucet and just leave that faucet open. We've lived here 18 years and have very rarely used that outdoor faucet (it's upstairs on a balcony). Here's my question: Are there water hammer arrestors that can be directly screwed on to a regular outdoor faucet? Would that arrangement help reduce or stop the banging? Thanks in advance!
