IMPORTANT NOTE: the plastic ring thing has very small grooves that are hard to notice but must be pointing down towards the watch for it to fit in properly
I launched 3 of the 4 bearings. Luckily all the springs stayed. After about ten minutes of searching with a bright light, I found the bearings. The cleaning was a lifesaver. I have the mechanical bezel and it stopped working. After its isopropyl scrub, it was brand new. Thanks for the video.
I didn't find my set of small screw drivers, nor did I find a guitar pick. I just used a razor blade very carefully and it came right off. As someone else said, I also didn't have an alcohol cleaning solution, so I just used water. Lastly, I did somehow lose a ball bearing and spring, but I put the ring back on and even with 3 left it still feels as new! Now I just have to watch out that I don't lose those aswell. Thank you!
Thank you!! My bezel was locked up completely. I used alcohol & q-tips. Used q-tips, swiping the alcohol around the inside/outside the bezel. Try to move the bezel, little wipe with alcohol q-tip, try moving bezel, etc. After 3 tries it loosened it right up! Twists, clicks like new! Thanks for excellent video and help!!
Thank you for this video. A word of caution is to be sure to keep the watch flat on the table until you are sure the ring has snapped down. Any small gap in the sides and the ball bearings can fall out. They are very hard if not impossible to locate if they fall off your workstation.
Spot on nice clear video, I have never taken my watch bezel off in 3years (to scared to) but your instructions helped me and boy is it a lot smoother like a new watch. nice one
You are a life saver!!!! I work landscape construction and my bezel had gotten to the point that it barley spun, now its working again like new! CHEERS!!!!
This is such a great video. I did this after watching and my bezel has never felt so smooth! (I bought 2nd hand but boxed in mint condition cosmetically.) Thank you so much!
I started my day thinking my watch was broken, and no longer water tight. Thus, my watch needed to be sent in for "repair". I ended the day with a watch that feels factory new. And the only price was my time and labor. The internet is amazing.
Great tutorial! As another commentator mentioned, the white plastic ring has small tabs on it which need to be facing down towards the watch when putting the bezel back on. I struggled with this a bit and once I orientated it correctly, I still had an issue getting the bezel to snap all the way down as it was uneven. I found out you must lay the bezel down evenly before attempting to snap it in place.
Holly cow after 2 years i cleaned it twice and at my third cleaning i lost all 4 bearings.....and i strugguled to put back the bezzel to just to have it on the watch....now after i read that i have to lay it down evenly than i tried it with 0 bearing ball and it snapped back.....fhuuu...i am so angry on myself.....but at least you helped me to put that daamned bezzel back ! Edit: the page scrolling still works but only not cliks in a fixed position but the bezzel still scrolls the widgets holly cow !!
Actually the name screw driver itself it a flat head and Philips is a star, so if you ask for a screwdriver it's a flat head and if you ask for Philips vise versa
@@KeepzKustomz I'm aware. He says you need a Phillips head screwdriver in the video but shows a flat tip screwdriver. Its at the :50 second mark. I was correcting him in case he genuinely thought his screwdriver was called a Phillips.
I ended up finding a galaxy watch in some dirt and grass that still surprisingly works. All it needed was to be charged and boom, works perfectly fine. Now it just needs to be cleans so thanks for this quick video
Thank you so much for the help. More than one year I didn't even think to clean my watch. Your video just popped in front of me, and I said: Hmm, interesting, let me clean that RN😂😂.
I just did this on my galaxy watch 3, I was so freaking scared. The hardest part was gently prying the bezel off. But I used exactly what he said and just didn't rush. Mine was absolutely filthy, but I cleaned it good. One of the little bearing did pop out but I just rolled it back into its slot and was much more careful. Make sure on the plastic ring the little ridges/bumps are facing down towards the watch and it's seated/tucked into the inside of the bezel before putting it back on. Now it spins like a dream. Just. Like. New.
Very helpful video, I followed the simple instructions (no rubbing Alcohol so I used water) and my bezel no longer feels gritty underneath and is smooth to rotate. Thank you.
Hi, good video. The screwdriver you had was a flat head type, not Phillips cross head type though. Also, rubbing alcohol in the UK is usually called surgical spirit.
May not be as long lasting as the strip down shown, but I sprayed Servisol (IPA 170) under the bezel and with rotation and wiping excess fluid away several times for around 30 seconds, it has freed a completely stuck bezel like it was new.
Thank you very much!! I would add a notice card to be VERY careful with the small pellets, the ayre very likely to fall and get lost if you're not extremely careful. I dropped 3 of them, fortunately I was able to find them afetr half an hour scouting the floor.
Thanks for this video - it helped me get my bezel off and cleaned. I struggled a bit to get it back on, but finally managed, but now it is a bit stiff and no longer clicks as clearly, even though the ball-bearings are still in place (one was missing already when i took the bezel off). Have I somehow put the bezel on wrong (eg too tight/loose etc) - is that possible?
I just bought a used Galaxy watch 1st gen, this video will be of great use Update, the bezel will not click back into place help Update 2: I had the plastic ring inserted the wrong way. All the raised spots on the plastic ring are supposed to be facing away from the bezel, and I had it placed facing upward. Your video didn't make it very clear, so this is where I struggled.
Great video I did do it but, lost one bearings. I found in the comments "Gerallt" where to get them Amazon and the size (bearings 1.5mm in diameter). I plan to replace my bezel with a gear s3 because it is bigger and can be turned with one finger easily (one thing I missed on that watch) I still have it. I bought a gear s3 off ebay for parts only cheap. As far as I know the gear s3 will still work with Bluetooth ( you cannot have two watches on the same phone, I tried) but is on 3G network for the phone to work and that is now gone.
@@MichaelMediaGroup I haven't reassembled it yet, but it was so dirty that I have no doubt it should! Turns out I have a Samsung Service Center nearby, so I think I'll be visiting that next week.
Just put it back together (with the missing strips) Man! What a difference. I added a tiny amount of vaseline to all touching surfaces in hopes of reducing friction and adding even a little barrier for future debris.
Nice video, do you know if its possible to replace the part with the numbers (5, 10, 15, etc) the one of my watch are getting erased, and I want to replace that part is a Galaxy watch 3, thank you
Hello i have a question I have a samsung galaxy watch 2018 42mm, the bezel turns ok, but there are these parts where at somepoint of the turn, 3 turns after it, it wont work, then it works after. If i try to go back, it doesnt work, 3 times continuous, but once i reached the 4th turn, it works again normally. If i do this, would it fix it?
I know this is abit late so sorry for the question, but i have done this to my galaxy watch 4 classic and 4 of them little black strips came off the watch uoon removing the bezel. Are these strips required or even important? Thanks for the fmvery helpful video aswell, as others havebsaid this is the best tutorial on here for this subject.
@naoseicarlos I think they were used for some sort of waterproofing, so as long as you don't get the watch wet, it isn't required to have them. The function of my watch was perfectly fine without them, it was worth it because the dial felt much better compared to before I cleaned it.
Great Video from Spain!! I have the problem but i loose all replace parts, the plastic ring and the small springs. Do you know some websites where i could buy it online?? I am crazy looking for....
Hi mate, just wanted to ask when you opened the bezel and if you saw on the inside on the face of the watch, there’s 4 black small plastic sheet stickered on where you line up the bezel, mine came off. Does it have a use? New gasket and ball bearing fitted in nicely but seems to be not working still. Thanks
I have the watch 3 it's only 5 months old and I sprayed hand sanitizer alcohol on it to clean it and get lint out of it under bezel. Did I maybe dry the ball bearings? it's way more hard to turn bezel
bro, a warning before taking off the top saying" btw watch out, there are springs that can pop out when you take it off " would have been nice, i just lost two because you mentioned it too late, thx
I have a Galaxy Watch 4. Can I use the same method to take off the bezel? I got sands in between the bezel gap, and it's soo anoyying when it wasn't as smooth as it used to be.
I have a question. Do you know what these 4 black tapes are for and what they are for? The bezel works but does not run smoothly. The scrolling of the desktop screen after turning the bezel stops. I took the bezel apart and cleaned it. I noticed that 2pcs of this "tape" are missing
all four ball bearings vanished instantly as I opened the ring. I found one of them on the ground (I'm starting to doubt the other three even existed to begin with) now it doesn't click as much but at least it spins smoothly 😀
great video and tips! I have the samsung watch 3 with a bezel completely broken and I need a replacement part for it, I need the front bezel the clip, bearings and springs thanks
@@MichaelMediaGroup Thank you for your reply, I have been to 4 local shops today and all don't touch these watches and dont stock parts for them. I have found some on ebay but not fully sure it's the correct ones my model is SM-R845F thanks
I can't recommend any sellers as I have not had to order parts for a few years. I believe there is another comment on this video where some one has included a link
Is it possible to disable the bezel so I don't go to the menu when I turn or rotate. I want the bezel even when turning not to go to the menu, I need to stay in front of the poinsters to use the tachymeter
They help keep add some friction to the watch and a bit more of a seal to the watch. Your watch will still work just be careful to keep it underwater for to long.
Okay, so i have a question i lost this little metal balls and strings while cleaning. Is it possible to order that online or did i broke my entire watch? It is a Galaxy Watch 4 classic 46mm.
Parts can be found with a simple shop. I am not going to recommend a place to buy them from as I never had to order new parts. But I have found multiple repair centers online willing to sell parts
I just have a case on my galaxy watch 4 classic and try to keep it as clean as possible I shower with it often and it stays clean my armor case keeps my watch clean
My bezel used to spin really easily with 1 finger but now it is stiff and takes two. I thought maybe it just needed cleaning like this since it was dirty but it is still stiff after cleaning. Any ideas?
I had to fully pop it off and lose 2 of the ball bearings cuz they are tiny and fell somewhere. I had to take the bezel right off to deep clean it. @@DownhillCube4
my bezel not working perfectly, so I think if I change its gasket and bearing ball something will be better. no luck, It's still dead. How its mechanic work? Any suggestion please?
my only suggestion is go a repair shop. This is not somthing i can explain in the comment section. I fix it have some good resources for help but a repair shop will be able to do a better job.
The white plastic ring goes back into the watch the same way up it was taken out. It can be a bit fiddly but everything goes back together the same way it was taken out
It has to come out to clean but you can put it back in. Just helps the bezel stay in places when not turning it and stops more dirt going under the bezel
Sorry for the late reply. ball and the plastic ring can be brought here rounded.com/samsung-galaxy-watch-46mm-sm-r800-sm-r805-gasket-gh82-17604a.html and bezels can be brought on Amazon
The short answer is you don't. Trying to get the right shade of paint to keep it the same as well as keeping the paint there is a lot of work. I just put up with the scratches and think of it as character. However, you can buy new bezels.
They are supposed to help keep the watch sealed from dust and salt water but they have pealed off from my watch and after a Google loads of watchs. My and many other peoples watchs are fine in water with out damage. If your watch is still under warranty get then replaced
@@MichaelMediaGroup Thank you very much for the reply man appreciate it. And the grips on the side buttons one of mine is worn down do you know where i can get some
I've had my watch 4+years and have never cleaned it. Couldn't use the bevel at all. After watching this it's like new again🥰😍🤩....but looking at the dozen cotton wool sticks i used 🤢🤮
