I am an electronic engineer and have the same problem with my GE microwave. I tested the microswitches and they seem to be good. Thanks for your explanation and it makes sense now. You are an experienced technician.
I have watched thousands of various repair videos. I have never watched one so thorough and patient. For me, this was a curb find today. My personal microwave is shot. I am officially your newest fan as of today. Prolly not today, but I'll get it. Looking forward to seeing other vids you have published. Dan, Pittsburgh. Be well and prosper.
This guy just saved me about $600.00. We were thinking we would have to buy a new microwave and then get it installed. Just a stuck door switch. Highly recommend his videos!
What an outstanding job you did explaining all steps in the repair procedure process. Your explanations and instruction are so appreciated. And no, you do not talk too much, and Thank you so much for the instruction. I have signed up for your site. I have also sent your video to many friends. All the best!
remember this: when checking with that light bar tool you must also put a full cup of water in the microwave do not forget this... we have Techs have those light bars melt down no joke... just say`n and maybe they left it in there way to long ???
Hi Hameed, before my microwave was working and it was tripping main switch. So each time we have to reset. Now completely it is dead. Do you know, is it a switch or Thermal fuse?
Hi there very informative video. My microwave wouldnt power either. Now, the fuse appears to show continuouty but the middle switch (which is normally closed) beeps both ways when depressed and pressed. I have ordered a.new switch but wondering can faulty switch itself also results in NO POWer to the panel?? Eventhough my fuse is ok?
Thanks Hameed for a detailed and informative video. I have GE 1.7 cu.Ft JVM6172sf1ss lights on but don't start and produce heat. What can be the problem.
Hi Hameed, thanks for the video, very informative. I'm wondering what issue did the customer report for the GE microwave? I ran into issue with the exact same GE model where the unit just stopped working after using it. I tested the fuse and switches and there were no issues with the continuity tests. The breaker also didn't get tripped and the outlet is properly working. It had power as I was using it and all of a sudden no power. What do you think I need to test next?
