Did you have to drain any of your coolant to keep it from leaking out of the sensor port? I want to replace it but I'm afraid that I'm going to end up leaking coolant when I take the old sensor out

There wasn't any coolant leak.

What was your symptoms? Just the codes? My step daughters Traverse has P118 and P119 codes, but hers also has P300 random misfire code. Her car hesiates/jerks when sitting at lights and sometimes under acceleration...

For my situation, there were no symptoms; the car operated normally, but the engine light turned on. After replacing the sensor, the engine light turned off. It seems like your car might be experiencing a more serious problem than merely needing a sensor replacement.

@@TRUSTMEN thanks for the reply. She just dropped off the vehicle to me today. There's no check engine light on, but these 3 codes came up when I scanned it. Hate throwing parts at it, but I feel with the p118 and p119 codes, the coolant temp sensor must be acting up. I guess il have to dive into it more to figure out the rough idle issues. Thank you

Thanks for the video , but I changed the sensor and I still get the code “P0119” and sometimes it reads the temperature a little bit higher than half way and the needle plays up and down…but it doesn’t overheat but there’s been 2 times where the motor turns off but turns back on quickly, 2014 GMC Acadia 80k miles… thanks…👍

It appears that you have a more significant issue than just a defective sensor.

If you recently bought a GMC Acadia, or Chevy Traverse. Do yourself a favor and get rid of it. Youre going to spend a lot of money on it. Bad transmission, bad engine, bad AC system and I can name more. Believe me I have one.
