I couldn’t get my new ET-2850 to connect to the router and even had my IT company spend an hour remotely on the laptop trying to make the connection and nothing was working! It wasn’t finding the SSID at all! IT guy said maybe Epson wasn’t compatible with mesh routers and I was thinking I would have to take it back and return it. Then found this video and changed the mesh router name to eliminate the apostrophe, then it worked perfectly!! That is so crazy that that was the issue! I’ve had HP’s for so long but wanted to get away from ink jet cartridges so switched to this Epson and was regretting my decision! Epson mobile software doesn’t seem to be as user friendly as HP, but I guess I’ll see how it goes. Thank you so much for this video!! Epson need to get with the times though as I never had issues with apostrophes with the many HP printers I’ve had. Thanks again!!!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I have tried everything and then found this video. I reset my new printer and it finally connected to the Wi-Fi. So much appreciated.
Epson printers are an absolute waste of money!! I've had soo many problems connecting my printer to my network. So frustrated with it. NOTHING WORKS! I've reset the printer 10 times to factory settings and it just won't connect to my WIFI.
Thank you!! I did 2 of your suggestions-turned off and unplugged and waited 5 minutes and changed my wifi network name because it had the symbol "-" in it. Thank you very much! I had been trying for at least an hour to get the wifi set up.
Wow! Thanks for all the tips. When I was a Shaw Roger’s customer it was easy but now I’m Eastlink and it can’t seem to find the wifi. I’m going to try each tip and see what works. Thanks!
Thank you for the video. Here’s what finally worked for my Epson ET-2850: The error was not letting me access the "Wi-Fi Setup" menu. I had to restart the printer. (1) Restart the printer (I left if off for 5 minutes and took the power cable off both ends). (2) As soon as you see the home screen scroll to the right and select “Wi-Fi Setup”. You can also go to Settings - Network Settings - Wi-Fi Setup. (3) Select “Wi-Fi (Recommended)”. (4) Press OK to proceed. (5) Select “Others”. (6) Select “Disable Wi-Fi” and confirm your selection. (7) Switch off the printer (for a couple of minutes) and back on. I hope this helps someone out there.
I've never known anything like the wifi and internet connection problems I've had with my ET-4850. It's in the same goddam room as my router. Every other device connects just fine. None of these suggestions work for me (sadly). Some Google research leads me to believe that possibly the wifi chip in these printers is poor.
Same here, loosing connection to the ET-2850 all the time, and the reason is harder to find every time. First, it connected without being on the MAC-address allow list, then it disconnected until I added it to the list. For awhile, it connected when the period in the password came from the number screen, but later, it disconnected until I redid the password using the period on the letters screen, which took forever to figure out by guessing. Now, it’s going back and forth between network-not-found errors and MAC-address errors, which both occur before it checks the password, and neither make sense because it finds the network on the Wi-Fi screen before erroring and is already on the MAC-address allow list. If it doesn’t want periods in the network name or password (as this video suggests), I wouldn’t have guessed because it SOMETIMES connected with them. Usually, what worked before should work again, but maybe not with this printer?
@@carlosmunoz6171 I bought a powerline adapters, who sends ethernet over power and the problem hasn't occured since then. Yes it is a 50 euro's investment, but still. Tip if you'd go for one: buy one with a power socket incluced. Always nice to not having to give a power socket just because of the adapter.
This time, I got it to reconnect by resetting through the printer’s menus (as described in the video), then deleting and re-adding the MAC address on the router, then unplugging and restarting the router. This time… A side effect of that is setting the language back to English 😡!!
My new Epson ET-2856 had the same issue, maybe I spent more than 6 hours to fix it. The device directly connected to Android via epson smart panel app but not on my PC and iphone. The issue was caused by wifi router settings with 5g. I activated also 2.4g with WPA2 and finally the problem resolved.
My EPSON ET-2800 was connected perfectly for months - I could print flawlessly from any device in on my wifi. Nothing changed. Now I can only print from my computer while it is plugged in to the printer. Epson sent me a new printer when the cyan ink stopped working. Same wifi issue. Now they won't get back to me. It connected for a day. Now nothing. MAC address filtering issue, or so it says. Husband (cable system tech) can't figure it out on the webgui for the router (Rogers Fastmile 5G Gateway). We turned the 5Ghz completely off so everything had to run through 2.4. Nothing. No option to change any MAC address filtering on the router. Just today I decided to try again - running the setup software again on the computer and voila - I'm able to print! I printed a couple things I had lined up on my phone to print. Beautiful. And then nothing. The computer shows the printer is idle. Setup could not complete. I still have 2 things to print from my phone.
Hi have a question, my Epson ET2803 was connected to another WiFi, But now I have a T-mobile WiFi so I want to know if I could connect the new T mobile wifi to the printer and how I’ll appreciate a lot your answer back.
My problem was an firmware update of my router. The 2,4 Ghz was set to Wifi-6 which is not compatible with the ET-2850. I set it back to Wifi-4 and voila it works again.
Mine kept losing connection, but I was able to enter the wi-fi set up and reinstall the information, The problem is not with the router or anything to do with my pc. Everything else I have connects just fine. Now after a few months of this nonsense it won't let me enter the setup anymore. Today, I put 2 rounds of 12 gauge number 6 shot into it, and I'm going to buy an HP or a Canon printer.
Mine only occasionally connects. All the info from the printer (ET-3850) shows it’s connected but when trying to connect directly to the printer IP address, it is not connected to the router. Printer says all,is good, router shows the printer but no IP address. Epson “Smart Panel” won’t connect, either. Only restarting the printer works. Epson support immediately stops when something prints (which is after every restart), so they are useless.
This happens every night. In the morning it is disconnected from WIFI and I have tried all steps already and it continues to do it. It is as close to my router as I can get it.
When I first got my printer Epson ET-4800, it automatically connected to the Wi-Fi, now it can’t even connect to the Wi-Fi anymore, it doesn’t make sense, I tried everything and yet it Still doesn’t work.. I just don’t know what to do,I stoped using my printer for a while, and came back and did a nozzle check, power cleaning, but it still did not connect to the internet. I’m at a loss right now, does anyone have a solution?
Oh, come on... this is just planned obsolescence. How come all of these EcoTank printers have this problem? If they can't charge you for those toner cartridges, they will make you replace the printer!
