The more time I spend on the health and body side of RU-vid, the more it seems that I have inherited just about every negative body feature in existence.
I've had high arches but fallen ones as well. I am in the 95th percentile for high arches in over 50 countries. Genetically I have huge calfs and never worked out as a kid. Also, I was told by chiropractors to wear arches and shoes in the house. Today I have weak feet, fallen arches and bent knees. I'm 22 years old and this video explained everything perfectly so that I understood how my past issues caused this to happen over time. I now have back, hip, knee issues at 22. Exercise and stay healthy please. Losing weight significantly helps too!
I'm 24 and been having severe hip and especially knee pain on one side for over a year. I really hope I can fix my weak feet and that I will soon not be in pain anymore... even had physiotherapie and special soles made for me - nothing seems to work. Good luck on your journey!
@@jamesepicmamba , I’ve had on and off foot pain since I was a kid. Very weak feet. Severe turn in of one knee. ( im thin), I’m almost 60 now, and I bought myself a pair of beginner barefoot shoes. I just got them about 2 weeks ago and im only wearing them around house and a little outside to get used to them. Im not kidding, I think im already seeing a difference! ( I’ve also been stretching my feet, and bending and stretching at the hips) I try to stretch daily now. I feel like my balance is getting better! You’re young, please don’t give up!!
Back, hip, and knees? Lol thats all boy? Maybe try getting out of the house and working all day everyday. Get some scars and good story's behind them. Gain 20 or 30 more years, and then you can bitch
I tell myself I have royalty in my bloodline since strenuous time on my feet causes me to rest a lot. Then I laugh at all my arched foot peasants working long hours in the field as I prop my non-callous feet up after taking a 5 minute stroll outside. But this brought me back to reality. Very informative - thanks.
Omg 😳 LIFE CHANGING INFO HERE! def have flat feet and like 10yrs of constant left side pain/tilted pelvis. ( my body pain looks like your skeleton outline.) Years of chiropractic adjustments and massages no one has ever mentioned my arches!!!! THANK YOU! Used to have thee cutest feet,- but after years of standing all day in heels, they now look like Fred Flintstones feet. THANK YOU
I'm 20 and I have flat feet. Everyone makes fun of the way I walk and stuff but it doesn't really bother me😂 ..My only concern is the pain I'm going to feel later on.😔
I'm 18 and have this crap. Though my feet aren't completely flat, I have a minimal arch, but it is still not enough. I'm doing exercises, also I recommend walking on gravel or like a rocky beach, trails etc. and any uneven surface so you can train and use your feet the way they are supposed to be used. Barefoot shoes aren't good for walking on concrete. They offer 0 support and there's 0 benefit from walking on such a flat, hard surface. I think some cushion can help a little bit. Either way, you should always look forward to walking on uneven surfaces. I also think of getting toe socks so I can walk in them unshod on gravel etc.
@@michaelbig7289 means you need a specialist. Shoe maker or go online. Put your size in Google and the word 'shoes'. You'll find them easily. And if you actually watched this video you realize that's the best way anyway. The cheap store shoes are mostly all built wrong
Fix? I have 'fallen' arches. I am developmentally flat-footed, not congenitally flat-footed. I've been told by many doctors that the arch is ultimately supported by ligaments. And... ligaments are kinda like an elastic band. If you stretch it too far for too long a period of time it won't return to its original (shorter) length. My understanding is that you can't do that with any kind of exercise. It requires surgery, and there are a variety of surgeries I've heard about to deal with this issue. Not minor surgery, however. I believe what you're talking about is mitigating many of the adverse consequences of having fallen arches. I'm not sure I'd call that a 'fix', however. Once one stops doing the exercises, after some period of time the arches are just going to go back to whatever the ligaments will accommodate. Are you claiming that your exercises can restore the lost elasticity of the supporting ligaments and permanently shorten them up?
I actually know that I have weak glutes so I decided to check if my knees were looking inward like you’ve shown. And lo and behold they actually are. So I decided to rotate them back to where they supposed to be and my arch actually raises. Damn, internet is really a blessing.
Thanks, i just tried rotating the kness to face forward like you mentioned, youre right it automatically lifts the arches and you can feel your gluts tighten.
Thank you so much! While I could never take on such a title, my team and I are trying to disseminate the best information available and in the simplest possible way. We are so chuffed to hear that you are enjoying our content 🙏😁
@@barefootstrength your saying I can fixed my collapsed arch without surgery? Because with out my arch supposed sole’s.. my foot feels like it’s being stabbed when I run....
Some people do not develop flat feet. They are born with loose ligaments and tendons and never ever had arches and never developed them even after exercises, support, shoe modifications or any other intervention. Four generations of my family have extreme flat feet and very pronated ankles.
I’m flat footed, and have been affected by this my entire life. Being born and raised in Hawaii, I’ve been barefoot while inside the house as well as when I played outside. I’ve since then moved from Hawaii to California. Even in the mainland, we still predominantly are barefoot indoors; even going outside for minor tasks like check the mail, get something from the car, etc…barefoot. I’ve come across these videos because RU-vid (Google) must have found out that I am suffering with bunions, so doing what the algorithm does, she goes, “hey, you might want to watch this…”. My bunion (predominantly on my left foot) is most likely caused by my flat footedness. In my case, where flat footedness may be genetic issue, can this be corrected?
When I was a kid, I just walk/run on barefoot. There no shoes at that time (198x-2000) in my country. And now I think that is the reason why I have the flatfeet.
I have a flat left foot and this makes a lot of sense now that I'm going to the gym, my left knee tends to rotate inwards when doing squats and I have some pain on the inside side of the knee
This is fascinating, but it doesn't fit my body at all. I tend to supinate and have high arches that are going flat when I step. When I go barefoot, I get stress fractures in my feet, and I have mild bunions forming and the bones in my feet are splaying a bit. My knees peek outward rather than inward. I'm trying to straighten and loosen the great toe and strengthen the instrinsic muscles. Please make a video about people who don't pronate.
My arch actually goes out and away from my foot haha even raising my foot off the ground it stays flat. It can be extremely painful and inconvenient but there are worse things to have!
Have always had high arches, broke my ankle 8 years ago and have had problems ever since and a fallen arch. Will I be able to improve this with exercise, or is it too little too late? Have really bad plantar fasciitis currently and Achilles tendinitis
Watch this vid ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MaVAsuwYacE.html and your problems will get better quickly, but do the exercises EVERY DAY, believe me its worth it and not time consuming at all. Im not a proffesional so care with because of ypur feet condition, but you should be able to do these excercises
I just saw some shoe brand called “Kinis” but they are on a completely different level of barefoot it seems. They are basically socks with soles. It would be super interesting to see a review on these!
Thanks for your comment. They do look interesting... will look into getting a pair to test out. There are also “skinners” barefoot shoe/socks which I’ve tested out in the past. Pretty cool products... will probably do a review on them in the future ;)
I was born with flat feet and now at 63 my hips and lower back definitely are letting me know that my stance has been wrong for many years. I missed the part where it’s going to tell me how to fix this.
Flat feet is a very sucky thing your ankle is like the abdominal motherboard of your lower body it controls everything without it ,it can make you very injury prone affects balance in sports which won’t allow you to reach full potential and mess with posture in the back also affect hip flexibility and explosiveness in sports i had custom insoles installed from my ankle doctor i felt the change immediately but they were painful to adjust to this time im dealing with the pain then if i see no difference i will consider surgery but this video was basically just a book advertisement
Wow you sound so South African lol Anyway, I think I was born with flat foot (only one of my feet is flat) As the years go on my foot is becoming more and more sensitive. It aches even when I'm sleeping.. I'm hoping some of what you said can help me.
I have a flat feet, and I want to keep playing soccer but every sec I start running my feet starts hurting so I’m trying to fix it cause I love running and playing soccer.
Am I missing something? The video details what causes flat feet (which was educational) but doesn't seem to answer the question in the title: How to fix flat feet. They direct you to their 'program' for that.
Yeah, it's a 10-minute ad. And he still managed to display his shallow understanding of the science in that time. Less flat-footedness in barefoot walkers is not necessarily due to their walking in barefeet, but the fact that people who walk in barefeet tend to spend more time walking on softer surfaces rather than concrete. We are not adapted to be constantly walking on hard surfaces, so the right shoes will help most of us more than going barefoot will. But yeah if you are running through the prairies chasing rabbits all day I guess he's right.
@@wallis_sin-yu Sorry to tell you: it doesn´t is the result on walking on concrete. The weak muskles are at cause. Mostly because of all day sitting and like he explains: the shoes. Greetings, a physical therapist.
@@mikeocksmall6513 So what? Your feet are inside shoes, so the boots do most of the work where your feet cant work as intended and therefore your muscles get weak in the foot. Being a bricklayer has nothing do with it.

Would be nice to see proof that someone that has been rehabilitated. I just never heard of someone ever regaining an arch. Maybe you guys could post a video of a before and after of a client you helped?
Just last week i found out i am flat footed. It was my friend who noticed and told me and i didnt know about it. After that i searched about flat foot and i really am. @@Babumoshai.. it's called varying severity. Just because you didn't experience it as bad, which you should be grateful for because we didn't all have it as good as you, doesn't mean that the person is lying or those symptoms don't exist. Flat feet have caused me excruciating pain throughout my whole lower body for very long. What the person explained is something I've had to deal with as well, and many people did too and still do. Fix your attitude and ignorance before invalidating somebody's struggle.
I have a curious point I personally have some low arches, which don't affect me usually, but when I searched for information, I noticed that many people would suggest that we wear shoes with arch support (that is, shoes with protrusions on the arch of the insole), saying It can help balance the force on the soles of the feet and relieve fatigue on the soles of the feet. At the same time, I also found that some people think that we should try to avoid shoes with arch support, because arch support will replace or reduce the force of our original muscles, causing muscle degeneration or even atrophy. What I'm curious about is: 1. Which of the above statements is more correct or has more correct parts? 2. If don’t consider the problems of flat feet or high arches that affect your life, for people with normal arches or people with low arches like me but the problem is not serious, should try to choose shoes with arch support or Shoes without arch support? Hope to know your opinion
I'm just getting into the space of barefoot vs non barefoot and I think barefoot is the way to go no matter your arch size. I hope you can find your answer for your questions soon.

I feel enormous pain when walking due to flat feet but tbh I can't devote 80% of my time to that issue and that's what these never-ending" programs" like yours are about.
I’m sorry to hear about your foot issues. However, I’m also sorry to say that there is no quick fix or ‘magic pill’ for this. One needs to put in the necessary effort into claiming back their health. While we can guide and coach people on the right path, the hard work still needs to be done by them.
@@barefootstrength Well I guess there isn't. I'm sorry for sounding rude, I was angry since on top of this I also happen to suffer from Depression and Anxiety, both quite resistant to treatment.

I've been useing wide shoes or vibrams walking an building up on runs.. My left foot is spreading and now aches and is now getting to widen for normal running trainers 😂🤦♀️
At 31 years old, I’ve had flat feet as long as I can remember. Never had any issues until now. Heel pain. Low back pain. And I have a sideways curvature in my spine that I just discovered leading to tightness in just one side of my back. I hope switching to barefoot shoes and strengthening my feet will help alleviate these problems
I'm 19 and I have the same problems as you do 😶 I used to be obese so it kind of caused me to develop these issues sooner. I'm not obese anymore, but I still feel the pain (although drastically less) I hope it gets better for us now that we know the causes ❤ best of luck to you!

Yeah bro I'm tryna become a footballer but I just can't run my full speed with flat feet I'm going down hill in football and I need to fix this quickly
I had messed up legs when I was born. Then I have extremely flat feet. I can't go for hours standing up. Now my ankle hurts so I wear a brace, I wear orthotics from roadrunner everyday. I'm not sure if it's Genetics or my muscles that are not working. all I want is to not have pain on my feet away.
All of a sudden I feel arthritis level pains in my right foot after jamming some footy. Didn't get kicked or anything in fact it gradually got worse. I took a nap and afterwards it was worse. My toe feels swollen and if I try to move it in either direction it just invokes the pain. The pain on top of my foot feels like a swollen pulled muscle like how. At the same time it hurts even when I lightly touch it bro. Oh my Lord I pray to get this fixed. I wanna play BALL!!😅⚽️⚽️
What would the recommended steps be if walking bare feet gets really uncomfortable? Gotta stand for hours a day, and I couldn't fathom doing that without a cushioned, supported shoe arch
Though I don't have to stand for hours, I understand the punishment of a hard surface on the feet (or perhaps not the strongest of feet). What I find best is alternating between footware options during the day and perhaps removing shoes to stretch and relax feet while put up and at rest. All that said, I never thought I could walk longer distances without my high-end gel runners, yet now find I go quite well in a pair of sport sandals, like Merrell.... all are arched mind you, though the sandal, less so.

We are all born with flat feet. The foot arches develop by the age of around 6. However, if the arches fail to develop properly by that age, it may be a sign that there were certain lifestyle factors in place at the time which were not conducive for proper foot development. For example, there are studies which show that when children spend the majority of their time wearing shoes before the age of 6, they have a significantly greater chance of having flat feet in life comparatively to those who were predominantly barefoot. Despite all this, the foot arches can still be stimulated and developed later in life using the steps presented in this video.
I’m not sure that I can talk because I’m 14, however this is very painful when exercising. I suggest trying to correct it early on, or at least that’s what I over hear my parents saying.
I am Orthotist from the Philippines ,all of us are born flat feet up to 3yr old and from 3yrs old the foot arch are starting to develop There are cases that don't developed, , Normally I put customized Arch support or insoles . Arch support has to be put inside the shoe..
Why on earth was I told flat feet were just a hereditary foot type -_- Also, I rarely ever wore or wear shoes and have had flat feet my whole life. My entire family does too. Im talking mom, dad, aunts and uncles on both sides. I’m so confused.
Bunions are also taken as a sign of ill-fitting shoes; crushing the toes together and creating these damaging and foot-altering bunions that reduce balance and stability. However, they can also be genetic and therefore shoes merely exacerbate a predisposition. Your flat-footedness sounds genetic as well, thus you're already at a disadvantage though perhaps that's all the more reason to pursue arch strengthening exercises and use barefoot shoes in order to overcome that which your genetics has burdened you with. In all demographics there exists the nth% that seem to have all the traits of something that is exemplified by negative connotations. But don't feel disheartened, that just makes you a perfect example that sometimes it's our genetics we are fighting against, not just the footwear or clothing additions that modify how our bodies perform...
You’ve no idea how much your advise has helped me since youtube recommended this channel. For years I have endured a bunion on my right foot with my small toes joining in so to speak, it was embarrassing to look at and meant I couldn’t wear any type of open shoe as the large toe tab would be uncomfortable. After one episode I looked down how I walked and ran only to seeing my right foot was angling inwards from a weak ankle causing my bunion, it was literally a eureka moment and I knew it could be solved by myself. Well just want to say thanks I have renewed hope, Merry Christmas.

I'd like to say thank you for these videos. I suffer from plantar fasciitis and bone spurs from working on my feet. I tried two podiatrists over the years thus have had orthodontics, made it all worse. The information you are sharing is priceless. American Drs don't take time to educate their patients, it's in and out the door. I've ordered toe separators and am going to buy barefoot shoes as soon as I have money to. I've worked barefoot two days, against rules but I told my boss it's that or I'm calling off as I can't walk. So next check shoes! For now stretches and toe spacers daily. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to my mending feet!
You can't fix a flat foot, if you do not fix the wrong posture in hip, shoulder blade and shoulder. Walking without heels and with swinging arms fixes this. For the last 4 years, I've done this every day for 2 hours. You must walk far. Like from Berlin to Beijing. It was worth it. I'm nearly straight now. Back pain is gone. The arch is restored. My left foot was 1 centimeter longer, than the right one. Now they are same length. Shoes with heels and shoulder bag make scoliosis. That's the problem. The inventors of this items brought more pain to mankind, than anybody else.
I have moderate bunions, moderate flat feet, and moderate plantar fasciitis. I've been wearing wide "yoga foam" skechers now almost exclusively for almost a decade, and very supportive shoes, "strutz" support for the PF, and toe spacers for the bunions. My health has declined significantly because I cannot run or jump. It seems 4/5th of the recommended types of cardio make my feet hurt. But I cannot afford bunion surgery. This channel gives me hope, although I'm a bit reluctant. What should I start with first? Any way to get a consultation with you guys? Thanks
Christopher, I just myself got barefoot type shoes to start with. Not wearing to gym, but trying to wear when I’m just moving around. I’ve only had them 2 weeks and I feel a difference. I’m also stretching my toes and ankles and bending to stretch my hamstrings. I feel like it’s helping! And I plan on continuing! Please buy a cheap pair to start with! I’m so happy I saw channels like these so my stiff flat feet can start to heal! I hope you have great success!
