I had flat foot when I was young (~10yrs old). Doctors made me do excersices similar to the towel one, but better. I had to pick up marbles from the floor with my feet and put them back in their jar. I did this two times a week for around 3 months (plus added some time at home) and now I have a beautiful arch.

My flat feet used to be bad, and then I started doing foot exercises regularly to correct my toes and help improve the arch. I definitely have corrected the lack of arch. It’s much better than it used to be. It was even more painful when I was even more overweight.

@@GuruLifts It is actually making subtle changes. I occasionally get aches because of being flatfoot. The arches are a lot more scarce now. Also my big toe is adding a bit more of a placement gap between it and my index toe haha. But I still have to do the exercise and wear things from time to time to maintain where I’m at. Which is just my personal struggle, but I am seeing changes so far.

Dry needling works wonders man! I had it done about 8 years ago for plantar fasciitis and I haven't had to go back since. I am also a PTA and I perform a lot of soft tissue mobilization for the feet for my patients. Dope video!

You and I have the same tender spots on our arches because of nerve damage from them constantly pounding the floor. He needs to work your calves and Achilles as well, not just the feet. I get dry needling done on my feet, calves, and hamstrings but my doctor doesn’t move the needle once it’s in. I just leave them in for 10 mins. Then I get soft tissue massages on the feet and legs.

Having seen this I really want to get you a Munson lasted boot. Arguably one of the few shoe lasts that a flatfooted person can out march a person with an arch. The problem is you only see it on $300+ footwear and it isn't easy to find a well made on these days. The good news is they'd likely last you a decade or more and several resoles with proper care. Nick's Boots in Spokane, WA have a Munson lasted boot coming out next year. If you are still reading this I highly suggest looking into them.

Crazy that I just got this video recommendation today, because earlier today I was in my physio appointment and he suggested trying dry needling on my hip. I've got a bad issue with hip tightness causing bursitis and we did the dry needling. Right now it's a little bit sore. Feels almost like I worked out, he said that's normal and tomorrow should be similar but back to normal the next day. I can already feel the release

I have a fear of needles but sometime my feet is so tight from soreness that muscle cramps are constant, i wouldn't mind have acupuncture done to them. I feel like it would be like a very deep tissue massage.

Being flat footed really sucks… I’m 28 with back pain and ankle issues… I’m lucky that got early intervention as a small child but it’s still a struggle some days

Was born with flat feet, its good to know that there are things out there to help. Does flat foot affect your knees as well?

Basically your whole kinetic chain , and your biomechanics , daily foot and care is vital to your self care routine ...just makes everything better ...the feet are where the rubber meets the road ...and will effect your whole body believe it or not

An easy way is to start with an Amazon accupressure mat off of Amazon ...put in five minutes twice a day standing on it , and work up to where you can stand on it with no socks ...then work yourself up to needling ..that’s how I started ...hope that helps ...

The thing that I don't understand is that people really think flat feet is bad. There is literally a gene for flat feet; its just a recessive trait to having arch feet. Having flat feet is only bad if you were born with arched feet. If you were born with flat feet, it just means that you have the flat foot gene and its totally normal for you.

@@sasuke_4927 Even if you were born with flat feet it’s nonetheless right? I mean it still affects your whole body too right ? I have flat feet and have knee, shoulder, & back problems. Most likely because I have flat feet. 🧐

@@sasuke_4927 i was born with arched feet but got it from walking wrongly as a kid it messes with my knee but i'll be able to fix the knee and hip pain within like 6-12 months of doing the foot exercises my PT gave me, glute strengthening, and hamstring and calf loosening exercises right?
