This week we show you how to install sumosprings on a excursion. Also we do a short ride to shoe its benefits. Thanks to www.superspringsinternational.com coming to our rescue! My Excursion has awful saggy rear end. When I fill up with fuel I get embarrassed for fear that ppl think I have a Carolina squat. That’s obviously the worst, but a close second is that I can’t enjoy my new headlight upgrade bc the variation in rear sag (btw fuel tank levels) makes the headlight angle change dramatically. Since I last filled up and exaggerated the squat lots of ppl have been flashing their lights at me as if they are blinded. The previous owner performed a coil over swap with 2008 front and rear axles but I don’t know of the rear leaf spring age. Great video. Thanks.

Looks like a good add. How do they stack up against the alternatives. This can’t be like adding an extra leaf?
@JMRRebuilders
@JMRRebuilders 2 года назад
Thanks for the support and the comment. No they are not like adding a leaf since that acts as support helper this acts as a bump stop and is progressive. So there is in a sense a padding that helps stop body slap. Hope it helps. Also the onky real alternative to these are airbags. Airbags are good since you can inflate when needed however they don't last as long cost double and are not progressive.

Yeah I put these on my excursion and one of the rear springs completely came off while driving with no weight in the rear other than half a gas tank it lasted roughly 5 miles driving my kids to karate class before the nut stripped off the bolt and the bolt bending! 🤦🏽‍♂️what I noticed is the flaw in design in how the rear mounts to the factory hole in the frame. The sumo spring does not sit centered on the leaf spring blocks in the rear where they should make contact. Now for the 5 miles the rears we’re on the ride felt great! In the front I’ve had no issues and love them! The rear in my opinion should be designed better in the way it mounts to the frame to correct the alignment with the block to prevent the bolt from bending and stripping the nut off.
@JMRRebuilders
@JMRRebuilders Год назад
Well that discouraging. Did you reach out to them to see about a warranty claim. They have a lift time warranty. Thanks for the comment and sorry was such a bad experience. Keep getting after it.
@bowcartel6978

@@JMRRebuilders I did reach out to them and explained how they broke off and they we’re fast to send me new ones! I will still be installing them but this time will make modifications to my excursion to allow a better angle of contact when the sumo spring makes contact with the axle to prevent the failure from happening again. Because for the 5 miles they did last the ride felt amazing!
