My 1994 Volvo 850 had the same problem. It was a bad speed sensor on the automatic transmission. My car has a built in code scanner which helped identify the problem.
SorenChasser I have a KIA Sorento 2004 model and having the same problem with the OD /Off light flashing and even I can not start the engine. Is the reason for the failure of the engine is BECAUSE of the O/D Off light flashing? There is no "Check Engine" malfunction shown in the dashboard panel. PLEASE ADVISE AND HELP.
I don't personally think your O/D Off light has anything to do with your engine not starting. If you're engine want turn over, check ur battery, and battery cables are clean to have good current or good connection. If engine turns over but want crank, either not getting spark or fuel, and possibly could be your engine fuse. Hope this helped and God bless
