How to replace the broken wand control on blinds. ~-~~-~~~-~~-~ Please watch: "Minelab Manticore first time out" • Minelab Manticore firs... ~-~~-~~~-~~-~
Rich thanks so much. It's May 15, 2022 and this is exactly what I needed to fix a blind at this apartment where my son is moving out. We want to make sure he gets his deposit back in full if possible. You did a great job explaining.
Thank you so much. Out of all videos yours was the only one that helped me fix my blinds and replace the wand tilt mechanism. Saved me money from buying new blinds to get my deposit back when I turn in my keys to my landlord in a couple of weeks when I move!
This was fantastic. I was so annoyed when I found the wand broken off at my rental unit. I thought it was going to cost me a lot to hire a contractor to replace the blinds. Thanks to you, I ordered a replacement part on Amazon for around $8 for a 2 pack and fixed it myself. Many thanks!!
@@Naomi-vf6gv Heavy Duty Low Profile Wand Tilter or control Horizontal Blinds. Look to make sure what shape the metal rod is, for example, if it is 6 sided or Hexagon for the part to slip over. It may not be hexagon. I found mine on Amazon
Thank you Rich my blinds were being uncooperative and this was the only video that actually showed me what to do and wasn't just trying to sell me blinds
Thank you Rich. I was wondering if my blinds, probably 20 years old now, could be fixed. Now I know it can be, and done simply. Thank you for the video!
Most excellent, good sir. I have this exact problem as well. Searched and found your video. It will help me fix the problem without having to repurchase a set of blinds. 👍🏼😃
Thank you so much! Fixed our blinds today thanks to your video. I ordered 2 mechanisms from Amazon for 7.39, they have metal internal mechanisms so hope they last! Thanks again!
Thanks Rick I needed that my husband is off with the men camping and I've been wanting to figure this dilemma out for so long and it hit me RU-vid ah ha..... and there you were. Now I can see if I want to do it or not..... probably will.. Thanks again Rich
Thank you for showing me how to get the unit out. As it turns out the wand connection wasn't broken but the sleeve holding it together was lost long ago I reassembled it and put some industrial tape on it. Now it's fixed and I do not have to replace it.
Our blinds have a male part where the wand should connect or fit on and it’s hard to find a wand without a hook on the end. I tried an extention rod (took the tip off) and it worked but it doesn’t rest the way it should. Sticks outward which looks odd. I don’t want to go the route of replacing the way by which you did in the video but I may eventually try that, thanks, good video.
What if the wand is attached but it perpetually keeps spinning and doesn’t adjust the blinds at all? Currently in NV with 115 deg heat and trying to keep the sun out. Thanks Rich!
I think the control would be stripped or worn out completely. However, this is the first one I did. I don't work on these... Just thought I would share what i did.
My wand is doing that. Until I buy a new wand tilt mechanism, I’ve been manipulating the strings that are located in the front of the blinds to open and close them. It’s a useful temporary measure until I achieve a permanent fix.
Ugh just broke my wand (I think). The little cylinder that slides into the hole just came out. I think I tightened the blinds too hard. I keep trying to reinsert the cylinder into the hole but it won't catch and stick in. Welp. It's 1:30am and I gotta tell my parents about this in the morning. Good times.
