As it looks like RU-vid is removing the dislike counter, it’s obviously difficult to tell whether or not videos (like this) are helpful! As of posting, the like ratio for this video is 85.42% The video includes many methods to try and help fix a flickering screen in Windows 11, but of course that doesn’t guarantee a fix. If for some reason the video didn’t help, let me know in the comments and I’ll try and help further. Thanks for watching!
Yeah, ever since I updated to windows 11 it started flickering. It doesnt flicker during games but doing everything else it flickers. I tried all the options and nothing worked. Thanks for the Video hopefully it helps others out. I hope there is an update soon or I'll be going back to windows 10
I have the same problem! the screen is fine when I'm playing games but if go straight to my desktop the screen started flickering and sometimes glitching. :/
I had built a new pc. Had 2 sticks of ram. PC started fine. Got cocky and installed 2 more sticks of ram. PC wouldn't start. Removed the 2 sticks of ram so I can only have 2. Screen flickering. Changed the refresh rate to 50. Then flickering stopped. Change it back to 60. Still no more flickering. Thank You Tons
I would have included that running a game in Borderless Window Mode also resolves screen flickering / tearing in some circumstances. But thank you for the video!
Don't know if anyone will look at this but would anyone happen to know what to do if you downloaded something and then immediately realized it caused the problem, deleted it and the flicker is still there (note this flicker happened before when I had my ps5 plugged in I removed it then fixed my refresh rate and had no problems until I downloaded hdr calibrator)
There's supposed to be problems with dev builds as they release new features and changes very early. You probably only have a short period of time to revert to a stable build, otherwise it needs a clean install
The refresh screen button combo worked for me. But why does this happen every time my computer wakes from sleep? I have to push these buttons every time?..is this my life now?...
Hii, My laptop screen started flickering after I reset my laptop and I am not able to open the settings on the laptop. Flickering is like the laptop refreshes itself every 2 seconds. I am only able to open the task manager which is not flickering btw and when i surfed the internet it showed that this is probably because of any incompatible app. Now the problem is they are saying that Uninstall or reinstall the app but i am not even able to open any settings so how am i supposed to fix it..Pleaseee Replly
My screen is blinking after restart of visualisation enabling visualisation in windows features and restarting then continuously blinking my screen Can you suggest how to fix please
Once while I was having this glitch I turned my pc off and when my pc turned off the monitor I hadn’t turned off yet and it was flickering. Would this mean the issue lies with the monitor?
first of all thank you so much for you video , i tried everything and changing the refresh rate did it for me from 240 to 60 hz , what caused the problem and how can i get my 240 Hz back without flickering . is it a hardware failure or just connection problem (Laptop)
My screen is flickering in safe mode and the pc doesn’t load windows. I login and the mouse cursor just loads endlessly. I can access task manager but nothing else. I tested the monitor and cables and it’s not that. Any ideas?
That sounds like the problem is due to hardware, potentially graphics card. In the task manager, try ending the task for the "file explorer". I've had it before where that can help reset things.
@Lewigraal no I just ordered it today, I’m gonna do a fresh instal of windows and see if it works. I’ve tested my monitor and gpu and everything else so I think this will work.
Why don't I have a "background apps" option in apps & features? I know this is unrelated I also have the win 11 screen flickering issue where I can't view my Taskbar for like a minute after it crashes but I'm wondering why I can't turn off background apps. Did Microsoft remove that feature or something?
it will not fix the flickering issue until Microsoft fix it. Its a BUG. Also, 1 year later, there are many softwares that don't have a windows 11 version. Zoom for example. When I run Zoom in my machine the screen start to flicker and remains until I close zoom. The way I partially fixed my PC was checking in their website if every software I have installed in my machine Is compatible with windows 11. The ones that don't have a windows 11 version I just uninstalled
the thing wirh mine is that after i turned on the HDR setting on windows 11 my screen started fliskering. but it doesnt do it in safe mode. i wanted to disable it in safe mode but i cant use that setting here. so what should i do
I would imagine HDR is off by default in safe mode, and for some reason they haven't included that settings option. It sounds more like a monitor issue though, is it possible to use a separate or spare monitor temporarily?
I've had this problem since updating to Windows 11. The tearing only occurs right at the bottom of the screen when playing games in 1440p. I've scoured the internet for advice but have yet to find any solution.
update on my part: I think G-Sync was causing the flickering for me, I disabled that with a few scaling settings (set scaling to display instead of GPU) in the nvidia control panel and it's finally gone!
I have a separate video for Windows 10, or do you mean Windows 10 videos in general? In that case, I'll see how viewing figures go but as it's a free update on the 5th October my main focus is on Windows 11 tutorials for now.
