Hey bro, I just meant to say, that I have literally spent money on two different flash drives when I already have four other. Order the part. I’ve spent hours upon hours reading through forms, watching videos, giving everything doing every update, switching the USB to ex fat, and fat 32. Switching from USB 2.0 to USB 3.0. Every single thing I’ve done and your video was the one that needed work for me. This video works. Just follow with unity. Thank you very much bro you really made my day. I love you. Bless
Thank you so much.after days and days, i was able to update my Ford Sync. i tried, but it failed until i found this video. from the first time it worked, so thank you very much again
Thanks for the video! I got it to work after a little modification. First, mine (cmax) only had one section on the autoinstall list file. While commenting out the different sections, I had to renumber the items/files to correspond to what I was leaving. So the first run, I included the two small files so kept them as 1 and 2. When I was going to do the third one only, I renumbered that to 1 while commenting out the others. And so on. The ~400MB files each took about 20min to complete. After those two, Android Auto was working and the version showed as 3.0 in the about screen. The next file, 759MB, I left running for about 5 hours and it hadn't finished. I turned the car off and resumed the next day (put the USB back in) and it completed after 2 or 3 minutes. I got my final log file and sent it to Ford!
This video was the only one that worked for me. It didn't take the last 2 updates but everything seems to work. It says I have the build that I was supposed to have. I really thank you for the video.
Tried to update my v1 to v3.0 in a 2016 Focus for days... DAYS. Lost several handfuls of hair and quit in disgust many times. I went to the dealer and they wanted $180.00/hr with no guarantee. Finally found your video and tried it. It wouldn't download the second part, so I waited until the next day. It started updating the next morning, so I started the third part after lunch. Message popped up giving me an error number. I thought here we go again. Plugged in my phone and had Android Auto! Thank you tremendously for the video.
Thanks so much for this video. After days of trying and failing I finally was able to update my 2016 F-150 XLT using your instructions. I had a little issue at the end when I separated the large files, but just removed the semi-colon after [SYNCGen3.0_ALL] command down and it worked perfectly. Stumbled onto your video after getting frustrated and finally found my solution.
Thanks for this!! Similar to someone else in the comments I got an ERRLIST7 or something once I did the first two sets of updates. So I couldn’t get the final 2 stages of this process to work, but the system still says I have 3.0 and after installing the new USB hub I am able to use CarPlay. Before watching this video I had many failed update attempts.
So your method worked. I ended up having to leave the usb stick in for several days. Every start up it would attempt to install. Finally one day it completed. I did the next section which was the first large AX file and that was all I needed to use car play. What an ordeal this was. But I got it working. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for trying to help. I had such hope this time. It finally started the installation instead of saying bad file error. But then after a few minutes it said there was another issue. I am giving up on trying to get my voice control to work again and updating this system. Maybe it's time to just buy a new car lol
what was the other issue it was presenting you with? sometimes people have luck with leaving it in and then the next time they start the vehicle it’s updated. also, go through the comment thread and see if anyone’s comments help.
@@mauromaresmr I jumped the gun. Foolish me didn't watch all of the video before I tried to update. So I through the usb in and let it update without watching it. So of course it restarted and that was the error message. I just finished updating and it worked perfectly ...once I followed directions. :) I am so grateful for this video. The dealership wanted between 250 - 1000 to update it for me .
Hey dude, I totally understand most of the video but after six minutes I’m really lost. Why were we copying and pasting? Can’t I just take; off the stuff I didn’t install? And put them on the stuff that is installed I’m confused.
I did your process. When you separate them, are you still prompt with updating system software? When I separate then. It says bad installation file and when I remove the USB it says, URB unplugged reinsert to continue
Everything was going great but while trying the replicate your method on the last two files I’m getting an error. And ideas?? I removed semicolons from second file (BB) and put them back on the AX file but no luck.
I followed all steps but when I tried to install the part before the last one in the script file, i got the LST_ERR07, not sure what’s wrong 🙁☹️ could you please help me?
i could’ve done it a lot more efficiently by just putting semi colons on the second section, but i didn’t really think it through. the goal is for the SYNC system to ignore the second install so it just installs the first one, then once it installs the first one you flip the semi colons and it’ll ignore the first install and continue with the rest.
When you separate them, and insert it. Do you get the system software update again? I did your steps, says bad installation error and when I unplug USB, it says pause until reinserted
is anyone able to send me the files needed for this? I have a 2011 with ford sync 1 and Ford wants me to bring it into a dealer and pay 200 dollars for them to update it. I find it weird that only my model with the sony touchscreen i have to pay for it. If someone coule please respond to this if able to send the files all ready to put into a usb and then in my truck would be heavily thankful.
Were you running into specific errors before trying this fix? I don't get error messages or anything at all. I plug in my usb and my sync 3 doesn't react at all
@@mauromaresmr gotcha. Finally got mine to say “updating system software” unfortunately, even with splitting the update in half it just sits there endlessly 😭
The problem I’m having is I can’t get it to save to the file after I edit it to put the semi colons in. It saves as its own document and won’t transfer into the file. Im not very good on a computer I guess😅
Everything works! But for some reason after doing the first HUGE file it wouldn’t let me do the 2nd or 3rd and I get a “lst err_07” but everything seems to be working 100% fine. I have the module coming in Wednesday hoping CarPlay will work.
@@ayoud1134 yeah! It all works now, no idea why it wouldn’t let me do the last 2 but it I guess it didn’t matter. Maybe it was so ford could get the file I need to give them to say I’ve updated. But who cares it’s not like they’re going to update a 2016 mustangs synce software anymore
Hi there, I've been having major issues trying to update Sync 1.0 to 3.0. My autolist file looks a little different: Would it work if I just split the 6 actions into two sets of semi colons, one for each run I do? I will test it tomorrow. For example: Original: ; SYNC3 Consumer Assembly Upgrade - Release 3.0.25 - Only for Nav/NA assemblies. [SYNCGen3.0_3.0.20204_PRODUCT] Item1 = HB5T-14G386-THB Open1 = SyncMyRide\HB5T-14G386-THB.tar.gz Item2 = HB5T-14G386-TCC Open2 = SyncMyRide\HB5T-14G386-TCC.tar.gz Item3 = JR3T-14G391-CE Open3 = SyncMyRide\JR3T-14G391-CE.tar.gz Item4 = JR3T-14G381-AX Open4 = SyncMyRide\JR3T-14G381-AX.tar.gz Item5 = JR3T-14G423-CB Open5 = SyncMyRide\JR3T-14G423-CB.tar.gz Item6 = GB5T-14G386-AC Open6 = SyncMyRide\GB5T-14G386-AC.tar.gz Options = AutoInstall,Delay Plan is to then for run 1: ; SYNC3 Consumer Assembly Upgrade - Release 3.0.25 - Only for Nav/NA assemblies. [SYNCGen3.0_3.0.20204_PRODUCT] Item1 = HB5T-14G386-THB Open1 = SyncMyRide\HB5T-14G386-THB.tar.gz Item2 = HB5T-14G386-TCC Open2 = SyncMyRide\HB5T-14G386-TCC.tar.gz Item3 = JR3T-14G391-CE Open3 = SyncMyRide\JR3T-14G391-CE.tar.gz ;Item4 = JR3T-14G381-AX ;Open4 = SyncMyRide\JR3T-14G381-AX.tar.gz ;Item5 = JR3T-14G423-CB ;Open5 = SyncMyRide\JR3T-14G423-CB.tar.gz ;Item6 = GB5T-14G386-AC ;Open6 = SyncMyRide\GB5T-14G386-AC.tar.gz ;Options = AutoInstall,Delay Then run 2: ; SYNC3 Consumer Assembly Upgrade - Release 3.0.25 - Only for Nav/NA assemblies. [SYNCGen3.0_3.0.20204_PRODUCT] ;Item1 = HB5T-14G386-THB ;Open1 = SyncMyRide\HB5T-14G386-THB.tar.gz ;Item2 = HB5T-14G386-TCC ;Open2 = SyncMyRide\HB5T-14G386-TCC.tar.gz ;Item3 = JR3T-14G391-CE ;Open3 = SyncMyRide\JR3T-14G391-CE.tar.gz Item4 = JR3T-14G381-AX Open4 = SyncMyRide\JR3T-14G381-AX.tar.gz Item5 = JR3T-14G423-CB Open5 = SyncMyRide\JR3T-14G423-CB.tar.gz Item6 = GB5T-14G386-AC Open6 = SyncMyRide\GB5T-14G386-AC.tar.gz Options = AutoInstall,Delay I hope this works. I'm assuming you just stay in the car as it updates so that you can pull the USB in a timely fashion?
