I think the main reason isn’t that we are needlessly wasteful rather than modern products have made it so repair is often times not economically a good decision. At my job I used to fix printers, and sometimes we would spend almost as much as a new printer on a replacement part. We had to replace our clients, so we paid the cost, but for a consumer they would be better off just buying a new one.

Watch a couple of vids on how much food is wasted in the U.S. Watch a couple of vids on single use plastics in the U.S. This vid showed exactly how I fixed my TV for next to nothing in parts and my time. The biggest problem is too many lazy people in the U.S. who would rather just throw it away and buy another TV on a credit card at Walmart. The other half of the problem is people who make up excuses to justify laziness like your previous comment.

Welcome, If you want to purchase online then go for AliExpress Search your led model backlights and buy but it will take some time to reach you, I will suggest to go to you near electronics market in your city and look for backlights, It will be easier

Yes you have same problem, You need to change the backlights, These are called backlight strips, You can order these online on Aliexpress or Alibaba, type model no of your Tv like this in search bar e.g ,TCL 40S6500 Backlight strips’ One important thing to remember during changing backlight is to take care of panel(screen) while removing it and installing it,because it is very delicate, It would break easily if you don’t handle it with care, Otherwise ga ahead with this and repair it yourself

So i just bought this tv and it displayed bad image as in all white/green noise which would happen intermediary and annoyingly often. Would be grey and fuzzed out when exiting any game. I did those solutions' all while on the phone with tcl support ( i am a tech engineer for HP btw so i know how to troubleshoot say devices. Nothing worked, untilI switched it back to 8bit color depth on RGB from 10bit after a day or two no issues i changed it back to 10 bit and the problems came right back so i permanently keep it at 8bit rgb now and haven't seen it do anything out of the ordinary since.

my tv (TCL 55") is doing something similar, but if i do enough system restarts it will eventually come on and display normally...but once i power it off i have the same issue again and i have to system restart until it comes back on (after many hours) the sound and everything works just black screen...would the LEDs be my issue even though after multiple restarts it eventually comes back on?

First power on your tv then check with a torch light or phone light “you can see under screen display with help of light” if you see the display,your backlights are faulty and need replacement,if you can’t see display even with torch light then you have motherboard or power supply issue, Check this and reply ,I will then suggest it’s solution
