How to fix the Bluetooth issue in macOS Monterey 

Command to shut down bluetooth services is: sudo pkill bluetoothd

This might fix A bluetooth problem, but not all bluetooth problems. I've got an iMac for which the hardware just no longer works under Monterey. I've tried the terminal command. No effect. And my system is so borked that it doesn't even create any bluetooth plist files. They just don't exist. Can't turn bluetooth on. Took the big step of repartitioning the drive and reinstalling the OS fresh. Still no bluetooth (or plist files). It was fine in Catalina. Gone in Monterey.

My MacBook’s bluetooth is still causing issues with bluetooth audio devices. All this mess started with MacOS Monterey. Apple should fix this ASAP

I have tried almost every fix available over the internet, but couldnt able to connect my headphones smoothly after updating to macos monterey. I mean to say before update it was working perfectly but after that when i try to connect, it keeps on connecting and disconnecting and at somepoint it connects automatically without any reason. my issue is still not solved

this is a good video, but seriously Apple need to fix this asap! every time they bring new OS out there are issues. it's like owning a windows pc.

Is there a way to enable bluetooth before user password? I use an external keyboard and when I turn it on it doesn't recognize any Bluetooth devices until I input the password on the Macbook's keyboard.

Didn't work for me Monterey.. connected then disconnected immediately and said its usual response...

The issue I'm having is 'Passkey Mismatch' for connecting my device. No matter how many times I try it won't work and I definitely have the right passkey. Any way to resolve this?

How did you get to the word "diquote"? You use QuickTime Player?

Not a universal fix for all problems. My 2017 iMac internal BT stopped working - dead. I have a Sonnet and a Hideez usb dongle and neither work under Monterey but when I reboot into Big Sur they both work fine. I have tried all the internet fixes suggested for Monterey but none work. In most cases the on/off button does not work. I managed to get a clean install of Montery to show the ON/off switch to actually move to the On position but still nothing works.

What should you then do with the com.apple.bluetooth file in trash? is it ok to remove this file permanently?

So my laptop allegedly connects to the bluetooth/ external speaker but it doesn't work. No sound goes through. Nothing happens. Sound still comes through the laptop's speaker. Any ideas? 😔

Hello Manny carried out all the steps but my bluetooth speaker still has issues, every 5 seconds there is a sound interruption. Started with Monterey. Its rather annoying :(

Did't work for me. My terminal has a long note about zsh and I tried fixing that but I'm not a programmer so I guess I will just do without bluetooth - it had been working fine but cut out in the middle of a sentence yesterday

You have to be using a corded mouse because as soon as you enter the kill command your cordless mouse is dead...morte, not longer with us, having a dirt nap...like a Norwegian Blue!

I tried all these steps and even *sudo pkill* command didnt help me. Finally I did diagnostic scan in startup and restarted my macbook pro A1502 and it fixed my bluetooth not turning on issue. Steps to do: -Shutdown macbook> turn on macbook by pressing D and it will take you to diagnostic page. Follow the onscreen instructions and finally it will show the result of scan. In my case no error was showing after the scan. Just restart the mac after scan and tadaaa….bluetooth is working fine. Thank me later

I just discoed my earpods and turned off bluettoth, then turn back on and worked.
