I'm having the same issue bulb failure on read out. I changed the bulbs,checked the fuses all were good. I hope this is my issue too.

Well I've done the exact same thing on my 2004 v70 d5 and my fuses for the rear doesn't look like that at all. Does anyone else know where the relay may be?

I've had 3 Volvo's v70 xc all had issues with relays and connections. This 2006 has no relays on the cargo circuit board, only fuses and I'm chasing a brake light error that pops up without touching the brake pedal even though the 3 brake lights all light up when I do use the brake. Nothing like owning a old space shuttle that is over designed. I had a driver education instructor in high school in the 60s, and when I passed the class I gave the instructor a gas gauge stick from an old model T that my parents had had back in their days gone by. Keep it simple is no more.

Hi Robert. Thank you again for your great help. On my 2000 Volvo V70XC there is a headlight switch #8622023 on the left side of my steering wheel. This switch has a 3 positions on it. O -OFF; parking light and headlight. My question is: My middle indicator on it I believe it is for a parking light stays always ON unless my ignition switch is completely OFF. Can you tell me if this is its a normal operation or not? My headlight indicator turns off and on only when headlights are activated with control arm. Sylvester

Robert - 2004 XC90 "Check Stop Lamp" message. ONE brake light out. New bulb, new tail light harness, fuses OK and I can hear the relay in the back when I step on the brake pedal. The wiring diagram for this car has the r / L brake light sharing the relay. It is putting out no codes. Any ideas ?

I replaced the driver rear brake lights and relay and for some reason the brake lights won’t work. The turn signal bulb works but the other lights no. Could this be electrical ? Or something else

so all my lights work.. when i brake, the bulb shines but i get the (brake light not working) thing in the display. so its the relay you think ? iv heard it might be wrong bulb i dont think so.. will check my relays i guess... thanks for info

Hello Robert, I have a 1998 volvo c70 coupe 2.3 t5 that when I start the car the bulb failure light stays on on the dashboard, it goes off if I press the brake pedal. It won't come back until i turn the car off and back on. What could it be? Thanks if you can help.

I've just recently had this problem with my 02 v70 xc, but all three brake lights are not working. All fuses and bulbs are good, so relay was my next try, but because the high-mount break light isn't working either, I'm not sure the relay is the issue

All 3?, as the common relay-fail (addressed in the vid.)effects only the big side headlights, leaving the LED display lit, I'm with Robert on this- I would be looking at the brake pedal switch up the other end of the car. From memory I read it's not so much a switch as a small unit who's electrical resistance is varied by applied pedal movement pressure, it then sends info to one of the computers that activates the brake light circuit. That said, I'm working from memory of a read here, for all I know it is just a switch. Either way,it's a small thingie physically pushed by the pedal's action and it may be your hassle, (or connectivity to/ from this pedal-switch being interrupted).

@@RobertDIY Hi Robert, thanks for your reply, I was trying to find the right bulb before I took the cluster out, as it turns fyi it is the same as the warning lights.
