In nearly 40 years of training that's a trick I've never seen before. Much easier than trying to fish a coathanger or other wire through the loop. Thank you!
My goodness! I knew that I am not wearing the pants correctly! I thought it was really like that where the other part needs to be tied on the other part, never realized that the one I bought it from never explained it to me! Thanks for this video, now I know I am wearing and tying it wrong!
I kept trying both the coat hangar trick (well with a knitting needle as I did not have a wire coat hangar lying around) which did not want to happen, then I tried this, which while it is a good idea, wasn’t working in practice for me, the knot I tied kept getting stuck and every time I tried it, it just kept getting stuck to the point I was becoming seriously frustrated, so I found a variation on it that worked for me, might work for anyone else who’s struggling. I did what she said here, but instead of tying a knot, I lined up the short front bit with the longer back bit, got a bit of sellotape (or sticky tape) and went round nice and tight a few times. I then pulled it through as she demonstrated and voila, happened first time. Then just got a pair of scissors and cut the tape, being careful not to damage the Gi. This comment is as much for me as a reminder as it may help anyone struggling with the knot method. But a good idea and it definitely helped, I just had to adapt it a bit to make it easier for me.
