I've known you both to be completely honest about everything, but now you're pushing this camera as if its perfection. Please put out a real world review covering pros and cons. I can only speak for myself, but from the outside looking in, it looks like you're operating on a hidden agenda now, and it really hurts.. =/
This will hurt people who don't want any competition. This will hurt people who don't appreciate new technology. This will hurt people who believe in conspiracies and hidden agendas.
You clearly didn't read my comment in its entirety. I want a fair review with "pros, and cons." You're a grown man Rezwan, please learn how to read. At the very least, stop being a selective reader.
This review is extremely fair to any neutral people. Only biased people would consider this as hidden agenda. This video clearly shows some of the issues of this camera and how to overcome that. For obvious reason, any Sony haters would love to see much-hyped issues like overheating, banding, buffer etc, on the other hand, Sony lovers would love to see this as the best camera in the world. Anyway, I don't need to learn how to read from you. Your last sentence in your first reply shows how judgemental you are. This is meaningless to argue with you.
“Every day you do not smile is a day lost.” I won many weeks. If somebody makes such eye winking videos, we can also rely on his creative photographic art. Thanks Tony. You made my day!
Doctor Tony: "...and here's your boner pill prescription." If you don't get the joke, watch more Tony and Chelsea. She's hilarious. Even my wife likes them, and she hates everyone I watch on RU-vid.
Tony I love how you have minimized everybody's bitching and complaining this is probably one of the best cameras on the market hands down even with all its issues. People act like Canon and Nikon or without issues when they first release. if my memory who calls the D800 had like a real bad sensor issue or something they had to remake it or something like that.
I loved this video. Being primarily an Olympus shooter (and RX-100v), I am used to coming up with workarounds! There is no perfect camera for everyone, but we're closer now than we were 2 years ago.
I hate when you guys complain all the time about stuff, so this one took me by surprised you actually provided workarounds too all complain. My compliments. kudos. Thumbs up.
Or freezing it before using it. ;) But the firmware update says its improving the overheating warning. So maybe they figured out that it wasn't displaying while it should ;)
This is an amazing camera, and if I had $10K to spend on a new system I would buy this in a heartbeat. EXCEPT that I haven't researched the Fuji XT-3 just yet. 30 FPS? That's amazing! Overkill for many applications, sure, but for a sports shooter that's unbelievable!
The 60fps feels very shaky and somehow unpleasant to watch. For action and panning, it's certainly useful, but for relatively stationary shots, it is not necessary. Great content as always.
Tony bro: after adopting methabone and canon tele lens the camera hunting for focus in your video. so i felt sony need to improve their lens collection to compete other manufacturers.
Issues are issues. You will never knew how frustrating it is when you had encountered once. I was once used a tamron 24-70 lens and it has focusing problem (which tony recommend because it have vc and cheaper than canon or nikon / also perceptual megapixel higher than others). Can you imagine in the middle of reception when you are about to take a group photo and the focusing stuck. I have to manually focus (which took a while; have to check if not focus) and exchange lens afterwards. I wouldn't trust a third party lens anymore and won't buy any other equipment when I doubt it. I rather have less specs in a camera than having more problems that other camera doesn't. So much trouble to concerns with... so much adjustments to do... Things you bought should just work as it is.. And sugru? That just doesn't solve anything.. you know what does? Buy D500.
zaks clash three any company can sometimes have an issue. i also have the Tamron and have had no problems with it. and two original Sigma lenses with no problems. knock on wood
If someone's not willing to crack a manual, or spend some time learning about something they just spent $4500 on, perhaps they should just stick with what they know and call it a day.
I put big blobs of Sugru Glue on all the buttons of my Sony A9, and pushed them down firmly. Now my buttons are all pushed down permanently, and I can't get the glue off. Did I push the glue down too hard, or were my blobs too big?
enjoyed the video. but i never realized that the A9 had so many issues haha. but for real i didn't realize it had no intervalometer. that does kind of suck. but what a great camera otherwise. i still think I'm going to wait for an A9r or A7r lll. but i hope they have the great A9 focusing system. just with less fps
Nice video on " fixes" for the problems . But there would be no need for these " fixes " if the problems did not exist in the first place . For example, Sony acknowledges the overheating problems in the A9 and hence released an update to , let's say "suppress " the heat indicator. If that's Sony's solution the heating problem , why was it not in the initial software ? Why can't the Sony A9 , Sony A7R2 etc be flawless from the day one as Sony FS7 II ? They are both made by Sony, for crying out loud .
I've been eying this vs getting a 5div but shoot in the FL sun a lot. Think the firmware fixed the overheating issue or just raised the temp sensor limit?
It is quite natural to resist new technology but it is better than holding bulky bricks causing shoulder & back pains ...price ? phones can also take photos !
It's still overheating, the warning's threshold has been moved dramatically which will probably mean your camera will just shut down with very little notice of over heating. Because they've already warned you in the owners manual that it does overheat then they're covered.
Most reviewers (including us) haven't been able to make it overheat, even when trying. Some definitely have made it overheat. The vertical grip seems to cure it for those who have overheated it.
From what I've seen from that1cameraguy, the firmware update only extends the temperature of the camera bit higher before you get the warning, but it still shuts down for overheating at the same time. Again, you'd really have to be out in the hot sunlight working for it to happen, but it's important to know. I think the battery grip has been the better solution for the problem at this point.
Who is "we" that reviewed over 25000 photos? I hope you got paid for the time. Now do they make a Nikon lens converter for this camera? They must right? I love the use of the sharpie marker for problem #8 Great job over all on this video :~D
Great! Minolta also had some great stuff like a APO 100-300. It's a screw drive lens so you must use it with LA-EA4 but could be an interesting option for wild life people. And did I mention it's APO?
With the utmost respect, people with less than a 6 figure income cannot simply switch from Nikon, or Canon to another "system." For example, my 5Drs, is SLOW, but it produces great pix--- just not very quickly. All the Zeiss lens that fit Canon, work flawlessly. You cannot seriously even think about suggesting my meger income should now be spent on a Sony anything, because this Sony has some enviable qualities... If my pro needs included very fast sports activities ... I would not even have a 5Dsr... Also, please recall that when one buys a pro level camera, you are committed to that manufacturer's "system..." and the Camera becomes the "cheeeeepest" part of you entire kit. Think long and hard when you make a "system" camera buy....
