I’ve got triceps tendonitis for 1.5 years and made all these mistakes. Thank god youtube showed me your video today. It’s very sad that %99 of the doctors are telling us to do these mistakes. I think this is my lucky day and your treatment advices will work. Thanks!
@@TheBerkobe I can see that I think once it becomes chronic you have to do other measures mine is thankfully mild so I’ll do these with normal strength training
Because i'm a paraplegic full-time wheelchair user, I cannot emphasize how enough how much pain this knowledge has saved me. To pressure relieve I have to push up on my chair every 30 minutes and hold it for 30 seconds. I'm also constantly rolling my shoulders forward to keep myself upright since I don't have any core control at all. On top of that I sleep with my arms bent AND shoulders rolled forward. Obviously putting massive strain on these muscles. Mr. Physio, thank you so much for a proper education that saved me from arm pains that have been extremely debilitating in the past.
Been trying to figure out my tricep tendonitis for months and this is the first video that properly explained it! Thank you so much. I have been doing the wrong exercises all along.
Thank you for the comment, really helpful to found good video. Its a been a year and now this pain comeback. Being doing lots of unintentionally exercise and suddenly remember about "triceps" , and search for this
I’ve been having really uncomfortable triceps/tendon for several months now, I could even feel an instant release of tension from the first day I completed these, thank you so so much ❤️❤️
Old video but it really helped me out. I hurt my tricep working out and couldn’t bend it anymore. These stretches helped immediately. I hadn’t been able to touch my face in four days. Thanks!
Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you! Finally after almost a year of pain in my elbow. Massaging my triceps and doing your exercises instantly gave me relief. I'm sure that is exactly it - I am an office worker, coding 8-10 hours a day so my arms are always bent. On top of that I go to the gym regularly. Regardless - no single orthopedist even hinted at the involvement of my triceps in my elbow pain. Thank you!!
Thank you so much I've been suffering for almost 2 years of excessive overload. Consulted so many doctors they only prescribed anti-inflammatory meds, no one provided a physical solution or excercise. Thanks Doctor for the help. 🙏🏼❤️
Thank you so much Dr. after doing your exercises my triceps tendonitis pain has decreased so much!!! I’ve been dealing with it for months and it’s really been hindering my strength gains! You’re awesome
@@orncn4574 yes triceps tendonitis is something I still deal with occasionally especially when I train chest and arms heavy frequently. When I notice it starting to come back, I start doing the exercises in this video and I feel like it keeps my elbows feeling good 👍🏻 thank you
Thank you for this. Best vid on this topic ! Your explanation is easy to follow. None of the word salad garbage a lot of ‘experts’ use to sound high brow. Subbed!
I'm so grateful to you. Actually, I live in a city without great doctors, and none of them diagnosed me correctly. I had been suffering for about three years, but now I feel better.
Ive been considering cutting my arms off so i could get a nights sleep. Thanks for your already helpful video. I tried the tennis ball massage and i already have relief. Man thank you so much.
This is awesome, i've been experiencing pain on my wrist and elbow for a few days now. I focused (wrongly) on the forearm, until i realized it was my triceps that i injured. After the hand exercises and the wall push, i recovered my grip and the pain it's slowly going away, definitely sticking to this therapy for the next months! Thank you so much
This is perfect. I just hurt my tendon doing heavy skullcrushers for high reps (110lbs, a weight I've been comfortable with for awhile but had sloppy form that day), and am now struggling to find something that will help me recover quickly before I take too many strength losses. Very great video.
Hey my dude, kinda just going through this. Have taken about a month off now and noticing my loss of gains, but still afraid to go back and make it worse. Was curious how you’ve progressed in the last month?
@@brandonkrivera3589 I've made a good recovery. I was able to keep benching, did some reverse curls to help strengthen some of those muscles and ate good. I wouldn't say my recovery is full... I have to be very careful. I just hit 110 for skullcrushers again and made a 315 bench... no elbow pain. Single arm cable tricep extensions helped me maintain some strength.
@@MegaLordBane what other tricep exercises did u do? And for chest? I’m 16 years old and a couple days ago I was doing heavy dips and on the third rep I felt this pain on my elbow/medial head of tricep. Been off the gym for a week now but don’t know when to get back. Weeks before this happened my elbow was crunchy but didn’t think anything of it. No bruises, elbows look exactly the same. Is this tricep tendinitis or a tear? Thanks
Greetings from Canada! Thank you for making the Fix Yourself video series. I work as a carpenter and I did a big basement renovation 2 years ago and have had pain from tight triceps ever since. Massage helps but the elbow pain always comes back. These videos should help me stretch out some tight muscles I have.
My God I'm so happy I found this video, I've been dealing with this and doing all the wrong things to try and fix it. Great vid and humorous in a few spots
Thank you so much for this! For so long, I’ve had pain on my elbow above joint. I’ve been misdiagnosed with tennis elbow and golfers elbow. None of their recommended PT exercises offered any relief. However, the exercises in this video really helped. I will continue to practice them for the next few months. Thanks again. 🙏🏼 Appreciated the touch of humor too!
I have been suffering from tendinitis from last 2 and a half years. I visited many doctors. Now I find this video on youtube hope this will work for me
Great content, I have no idea why people never explain the REAL cause. You are literally the only one who did, other "experts" tend to think that you caused the injury in the first place by lifting too much or by doing repetitive movements but that is just the part of the story. when in fact we keep compressing and stretching the tendons all day as you clearly explained so we need to fix that too.
I've had a pain in my elbow for 16 years or so after an arm-wrestle in my late teens. Since then I thought it was just something I had to put up with. Over the last 5 weeks, I have started a new exercise program using Loop style bands but have noticed a click in my left elbow when doing the press-up and triceps extension part of the training. Then lat week excruciating pain, I mean, I can't even touch it, lean on it, nothing. Everything pointed to tennis elbow, but I felt this was wrong until I came across your video. Along with a bit more research, I've come to understand that mild intestinal exercise is the only way of repairing the problem. Thanks for getting the ball rolling as I'm desperate to get back to my training.
@@dex4959 I had elbow pain, I was searching for possible explanations. I wasn't satisfied with many of the other videos. I knew there was a remedy/therapy available since I'm still young and shouldn't be having this issue. This video was in-depth and explained proper stretches.
you are the man! ive been suffering this for awhile as well as tennis elbow. Tennis elbow seem to get a bit better with a brace but then my tricep into elbow started hurting 😢
Omg, even though this video is 4 years old, a lot of the info in it really helped me. I tend (no pun intended) to get triceps tendonitis on my right arm and had been doing the stretching method to try and relieve pain. I currently have triceps tendonitis and think it was from doing body-weight dips since no other lift/exercise ever causes this issue with my right arm. After doing the exercises, I noticed a significant difference in relief around the elbow and triceps area as well as how much I can extend my arm straight without any noticeable pain or discomfort. Really helpful. Also, based on the info in the vid, would it not be suitable then to wear a compression sleeve on the affected area?
Hi Akshay, did the exercises work for you , how are you feeling now, i tried this and couple of other eccentric workouts and the pain while stationary is less, its still the same while pushing while getting up or while doing pushups? I just wanna know if these are normal? Can you share your experience?
@@Vin_Nair Hey..I got the elbow pain when I did push-up. I stopped push up for a month and let it heal. I understood the importance of not stretching which I was doing often before watching this video. Reduced the use of phone with bend hands and the massage with ball on tricep was a great immediate relief.👍 If you are doing push-up make sure you are having the proper posture while doing it. I was doing with a slight mistake in my posture. I think that was the reason behind my elbow pain. Just make sure your palm is not in line with your ears when u lower down. That puts a lot of pressure to your tricep the wrong way. I now align with my shoulder an inch below the shoulder tucked in. Hope this helps you. Cheers.
@@akshayprakash3722 thanks for the fast response, yes i stopped doing pushups, and never had any pain while doing it either until i started to do single arm over head tricep extensions, and now there is a slight pain while trying to do pushups, much like an aching sensation, its been two months now and there is very little reseach on tricep indued tendon pain and that sort.
Thanks for making this video i have been dealing with this since april of this year, it started happening when i was getting strong on bench press an one day i heard a popping noise an it hurt ever since then. I had x-rays an mri done all came back negative. The pain is around the olecranon bone on one side hurts doing any pushing or overhead movements. i quit weightlifting all together an started recently doing eccentric exercises like french press an pushdown for about 2 weeks. I will start applying all info in this video an hope it heals with time an thanks again for actually caring about this topic i couldn't hardly find anything on tricep tendonitis.
Thank you so much, I have tried everything for a year and nothing works. I went to physical therapy for a year in the U.S. I am a college student so I could not afford outside therapy outside of school, and the school therapy did not help too much. Your videos alleviate my pain within 2 months. The arm still hurts a lot but it is manageable now.
Same here! A week ago I got a loud pop in the triceps tendon area while exercising, not a lot of pain at first, but it kept getting worse until I was unable to even play guitar. I've had to stop all lifting and start rehab.
I just wanna say thank you.! Ive been researching this type of injury all day and your video brought me the most insight on this injury.!! 🙏🙏 Going to try this for the next couple of months. I'll keep yal posted how it goes 😃
@@vivekchandwani9600 not yet I sorta procrastinated on the exercises. But I'm back.! And this time I'm serious. Feels like now or never since I can't get health insurance in us
@@chaszeren7282 Hey yes definitely better than I was a year ago. This is what I learned from all this. Add some weight to your elbow when these exercises get to easy to do like planks, do push-ups but only go down on the pushup a little before it's about to cause you pain/discomfort. For me is was going down as far as 90° of elbow flexion. Anything more and it would cause me pain so I would avoid it. The point here is to strengthen your tendon. Not to make it more flexible. I'm here for anyone who needs advice.
Powerlifting and generally heavy pressing have caused triceps tendonitis for almost 3 years now. I can feel the trigger points when I use the tennis ball. It hurts, but should make things better. Thanks Dr. Physio
Mr. P, I am a weight lifter. I have had 2 PRP injections in the triceps tendon near the elbow. I will try stretching and lengthening exercises. Thank you
Dude, okay so I watched this video about three weeks ago I had to come back and thank you. I am benching pain free again!!! My elbows feel so much healthier after daily massage treatment and doing the wall holds every couple days. Also tip for those who want to keep doing skull crushers, try them on a super declined bench that touches the floor and make the angle of your bent elbow further than 45 degrees till you feel no discomfort.
@@chaszeren7282 I am feeling good, I did eventually stop doing skull crushers though as my strength surpasses what my joints can handle. And as long as you are not in pain I wouldn’t worry too much but maybe try widening your hand placement and really focus on retracting your shoulders on the way down. I use the same que for bench and it helps
Have the same issue going on and trying to figure out if I. Can continue to lift. Can I ask you a couple questions? Glad to hear your better! Regardless, thanks for your time and God bless!
Hello Mr Physio, Thank you for your comprehensive video. I would like to ask you whether you still recommend the same eccentric exercises for a person with thin cracks on his tricep tendon.
Very helpful. I have a lot of pain due to weights training from my shoulder to elbow area, so mostly triceps. I wish it was easy to get a good PT like you around here :(. Until then will keep doing what you showed and stay away from weights for a while.
