I see you put some serious trust into that jack. 😮 To be clear, please always put something firm as a backup support. That wheel might just do the trick. Other than that thanks for the tip! 😊

Did you have to diagnose it, to check what wheel had the problem?

Had mine done 2 year ago we couldn't work out what it was until we popped a diagnostic kit on and did a live read driving it and left side front showed dead no numbers so we knew speed sensor quick fix and cruise control back..

Great Video and timely for me. I have just returned from abroad with an orange "ABS/DSTC Failure - Service Required" message plus a "City Safety - Service Required" message which turned out to be the more serious. City Safety would randomly apply the brakes as it falsely detected obstructions up to 50 kmh - making for some dangerous situations!! The car has been taken off the road pending a dealer appointment but, having seen your video, the connection is hardly a flimsy bit of wire which could be damaged easily. It has a pretty substantial connection and so I was wondering if you had any idea at all what caused the failure or is it "just one of those things". I ask because I had the same problem with a different sensor (I think) a year ago - Faulty O/S/F Sensor (£82.00) £43.50 Labour plus VAT totalling £150.60. Not sure if City Safety is part of the same sensor? I had four new tyres fitted on 7th March and it was suggested that the fitter may have damaged something but it looks a lot more substantial than I imagined. Any thoughts on what caused yours - or mine ??? Thanks again for the video - it came at exactly the right moment.

I have read on forums that wheel speed sensors form part of the city safety system so it may be ehat is causing your issue. Wheel speed sensors can fail around the 100,000 mile mark, they are also getting old now as the cars get old so electrical items tend to start failing. That being said, I have heard that changing brake discs can cause a fault as metal shavings (from the brand new discs as they wear in) get in the sensor causing them to fail! I would see what happens if you change an abs sensor as it may well fix it. Mine would jam the brakes on when reversing as it thought the car skidding! 🤣

Hey I pulled out my sensor and its been slightly damaged by something grinding it. Now my sensor seems like it takes reading from the side not the bottom. And last thing you mentioned that abs reading is done from brake disc? So im guessing I need to take and clean inside of the disc somewhere before replacing that sensor and I guess its the slotted bit on the disc it self.
@drivelife.channel

Correct! it reads the slots on the brake disc :)

I dont get it, Please help. I had similar problem. But the mechanics said it’s the injection system problem. Have 4 injection valves(dispensers) on my volvo V60. Forced to change 2 of them in a week period one after the other. And its expensive, 400$ each Please help me , You had DSTC fail on the dashboard and did as you explained in the video ?

Do you think this ABS/DSTC fault could cause the vehicle to go into Limp Mode or, worse still,to shut down completely for safety reasons if ignored for long enough??
@drivelife.channel

Yep mine sometimes refused to change gear leaving me stuck in 2nd on a dual Carriageway😅

☹️ Not good news but thanks for your help. Sadly, this is the second incident of this type in less than a year on a model year 2014 XC70 with 41,000 miles - less than half your mileage - at which point I would be more forgiving! 😀

Is there one on each side, if so how did you know which one to change /
@drivelife.channel
@drivelife.channel Год назад
Yes they are on both sides, I ran Diagnostics and it came up with cold C0034 which indicates a front right abs sensor :)
