Hey Man, I really like all the info. You provide on this channel about Volvo’s, I’ve learned stuff about my car I never knew, and I love my Volvo s80! 👍🏻🔥
Nice tips!! I have keyless entry so when i want the car on and locked, i simply take down the window, close the door, push the lock button on the inside of the door and finally take up the window😁
To lock the doors while the engine is running I would wind down the window before exiting the car, then once I'm out of the car and door closed, I would press the inside lock button through the window, then pull the driver's window switch all the way up for the window to automatically wind up completely. To get into the car later, I would just grab the handle (newer volvo with keyless entry) or use the key (for older volvo without keyless entry).
So many clever little features on these cars. I took my V70 on its first run down to Cornwall, thank god I bought an estate. It was filled to capacity.
@@drivelife.channel Of course, checked the tyre pressures & fluids, topped of the tank (ouch) as each bar is basically £20 at current prices. Effortless cruise & no aches or pains when we arrived. Very impressed with it.
@@drivelife.channel devastating news - my 2006 C70 doesn’t have that “ hidden “ lock above the number plate for the boot . I can’t open my boot at all . Any tips ?
well…..I was so hoping i could starr my car this morning with just the key and that seems to not be possible. This is not good. but I now know how to allow transmission to ho to neutral for the tow at least. Thanks!!
Yes I did thank-you! it seems that at some point some cars have had a software update which changes the settings, not sure if mine has it or yours does 🤣
Great info. My car battery died. After jump starting the car, the key fob stopped locking/unlocking the doors. What could be the issue? I have a 2011 Volvo V60
My car keys pop out just like yours does but it doesn't have a keyhole to unlock it in case the battery dies. Is it hidden somewhere? Because the only place that it plugs into is the glovebox.
Any idea how to unlock the boot with the key? I think the boot wiring loom has got a split in it so the key fob / boot release buttons won’t work and I can’t now open my boot.
Yes, take the key blade out and look under the chrome trump where the handle is. Along there will be a rubber cap that you can remove and use the key to open the boot :)
I bought mine off Lazada and did have to pay a workshop to do it during my service. Was way too much effort for DIY as I was worried of snapping the vent even further without the right tools.
No. But the fob doesn't require a battery for that to work. If the car has power, it will start. The battery is only for the remote functions. It will tell you the fob has low battery if you do.
