How to Fix Windows 10 Screen Brightness Control Not Working

guys if u are having this problem or the problem related to missing Bluetooth try restarting and going in to check for updates and it will surely help. i checked out and windows had sent me updates on update and security in settings. Thanx to the man of the channel it never crossed my mind to check for update.

if your monitor's brightness button is greyed out, it might be on eco mode. that's what mine was one. simply change the mode off (when i pressed the first button on my monitor, it opened a tab of modes like eco, racing or user. I use user simply because I can change what I want.)

I tried updating drivers for weeks and it didn't work. I JUST fixed it by going to Device Manager, clicking Display Adapters, right clicking the adapter underneath which in my case was "AMD Radeon RX Vega 10 Graphics" then clicking "Roll Back Driver". Works like a charm again and now I can use my laptop at night without burning my eyes!

So, I tried everything in the video, then restarted my laptop to no avail. As a last resort, I used the "Intel Driver Support & Assistant" link and downloaded the "assistant." After downloading it, a prompt appeared asking me to restart my computer. During all this, a new window in Chrome opened, on the Intel website, with details about my laptop. There was also something that read, "1 software update available." Regardless of this, I restarted my laptop. As it was coming back on, I noticed the screen brightness flicker a little, while the screen was black, before the Window's sign-in prompt. I don't what happened but my brightness controls are now working again. Thus far, I only downloaded the "assistant" as opposed to any individual drivers. Does anyone know what happened?

Didnt work for me. But the best video i found so far. I'm going to install linux😑 Edit: ( Finally fixed. Eventually it was found that the brightness should be reduced by the graphics card (nvidia control panel) or the monitor. And that computers do not have a brightness slider)🤦🤦

partial thanks. i found out i can adjust brightness from within the radeon software. however the hotkeys still don't change the brightness. so i will have to open the software everytime? anyway this is better than nothing so thanks.

For me it glitched because i was trying to draw by touch on a microsoft word document for a school assignment. It is now stuck at full brightness and the screen flickered for a minute. This is a brand new laptop too, but since this is a school issued laptop, I can't change any settings because it has admin on it.

Brightness was working went into add and remove programs and deleted the wrong program. Since then my brightness is at full tilt. Tried installing the display driver nothing changed.

it didn't work for me, doesn't matter what I do and what I follow nothing works. for some reason I only see the graphics card drivers and nothing else in display adaptors and in monitors the drivers are already set on Generic PnP monitor and actually I can't change that to anything... what am I supposed to do?

I tried this video, still no results. I cant change the screen brightness. I tried updating drivers from device manager, windows, intel and lenovo updater app.. still cant change brightness, keyboard brightness keys doesnt work. And there are no options in windows 10 to adjust it. Not found in settings/control pannel/ notification area. I also reinstalled windows10 2x... Brightness is set at max Maybe its a hardware problem?

None of these worked for me. Few minutes later, I realized it was with my display driver. Choosing "Generic PnP Monitor" let me change the brightness again.
