artillery should remain in the game as an AI that only shoots at cheiftains, kranvagns 279e's or similar tanks, and only shoots once per minute, and only shoots them if they dont move atleast 20 meters away from that position every minute.

@@pizzainmilk4197 no, critical hit means, you hit a module on the tank.. if you hit a module then you hit the tank, so the critical hit 0 dmg literally doesn't make any sense (except on tracks ofc)..
As a war thunder player, I watched in disgust as you "changed" tanks with different tanks stuff (e.g. cupola, gun, ammo etc.). You can't just change tanks. They're supposed to be historical and not just fake fanfic of tanks.
for point 17: you could achieve the same effect by basically getting rid of minimum dispersion all together and doubling every tank's aim time to compensate. that way nothing would really change, except what happens if you wait longer than than the tanks old aim time, you'd get perfect aim. inaccurate vehicles would need to aim longer and accurate ones not as much, so tanks known for their accuracy still won't be out-shone by the close range tanks at longer ranges

I once saw someone who had 30k games on both the german tier 7 arty and the french tier 9 arty and calculated that in order to have 60k games with an average of 8 minutes per game (Id say arty has overall longer games than any other class) you need to play 6 hours of arty every day for the last 8 or so years
I would argue that 8 minutes is too long for an average artillerygame. When one flank loses, 90% of artillery players wont even bother to move to the safe flank. Instead, they stay still, dies in the base, gets shocked because they got oneshot and calls the team trash.
@@ericgrund9513 On most maps, there is exactly *one* hiding spot for artillery, usually near or behind the base. If that spot becomes untenable for whatever reason, in 99% of cases, the artillery cannot "relocate to the safe flank" because a) most (high-tier) artillery is slow as molasses, compared to the other tank classes (especially light tanks) and cannot outrun any pursuers (and even if they could, spotting range of enemy tanks would easily discover them crawling along) and b) most maps are built in such a way that, in order to get to the "safe flank" the artillery would have to pass a spot overlooking the original hiding place that it has no chance in hell to pass unspotted (let alone alive) due to its horrible camo ratings, high view range of enemy tanks and its own nonexistant armor. When a flank falls, artillery *can* get away if the distance between its hiding spot and the fallen flank is big enough and if the artillery starts to run in time, but most maps simply don't allow for that because of the aforementioned points. Not to mention that, if one flank falls, the other won't be safe for much longer anyway. So the arty can do nothing but stand where it is and die in one shot. The point is, if you scratch your head and ask the "Why didn't they run?" question, the answer is simple: "I'd have loved to, but it was simply impossible". . Whenever I play arty and my friend goes like "Dude, run!", my usual response is "Are you trying to be funny?"

I said it many times before. The arty problem has a really easy solution. Remove both aerial view for them, and instead make them set arches on what they can see, or perhaps to certain coodinates on the map. This would make them a lot more difficult to play and increase shell flight time significantly, allowing people that being spotted to relocate. Admittedly they could still just shoot corridors, but without the sniper accuracy.
No. The only way to fix artillery is real simple, and it is to make them vehicles like other vehicles in the game. This immediately fixes the problem. All self propelled guns, immediately have HP increased, view range increased, dispersion and camo values changed to reflect tank destroyers. All self propelled guns now are shifted into the tank destroyer class. Stun HE shells are removed. High damage HE shells are removed. Their HE damage rounds now mimic the normal tank and TD class HE rounds. And voila, problem solved. An example. IE: Lorraine mle 50 is now a direct fire TD, with 840 HP and 350 VR, typical among other tier 7 TD. The dispersion values are reduced, and it has 150mm gun that deals 910/700. Pen is 85/140. This makes it very comparable to SU152 already in the game. Another example, object 261. 1850 HP, 380 VR, typical among other tier X TD. The dispersion values are reduced, and it has 180mm that deals 1775/1175. Pen is 95/175. What this does is removes alot of the core problems people have from arty. No more sitting on the sidelines 1200m away just bombing people. You want to shoot people, you have to use your draw circles. You need to respect the power of enemy vehicles especially light tanks, spotting you. You become more a team player, more involved. With the HE changes, alot of these scary HE numbers will be dramatically reduced anyway. Only way to fix arty, is to make them subject to rules the rest of the tanks follow.
They already copied some good ideas from armored warfare, so why not copy more. In that game, aerial view is removed and they are just TDs that shoot with an arc on their projectiles(like the recent snowball gamemode, hint hint). However, you play arty there for utility, not damage. Also they should remove lefh :).

I think between tier 1-5, if you have over 999 battles- you know how the tank operates and +2 mm enabled no matter how long you have to wait for a battle. hope you enjoyed those 800 unnecessary stat padding farming games! o/
It's pretty clear from my comment that the only tanks I want to play are in tier 8, so idk why you're saying this here. Low tier is fucking cancer with all the shit-eating sealclubbers who can't make it in high tiers on their own without a skill handicap on the enemy team. I HATED playing there when I was new to the game and if I could buy fxp, I would just so I could always skip tiers 1-5 when grinding a new line.
Look at No Man's Sky, although a very different game, but the devs seriously listened to their fans and did so much to it now it's one of the best sandbox games out there, and they haven't even stopped yet.
Artillery gets their HP buffed to Light or Medium tank levels, has their alpha damage and rate of fire adjusted to give them light or medium tank levels of DPM. Arty gets a choice of two top guns in all vehicles Tier VI and higher; one of a lower caliber with less damage but faster reload and better accuracy, or one with larger caliber or an autoloader that has greater alpha but longer reload and worse accuracy. Arty can switch between Travel Mode and Siege Mode. Travel mode lets them move at full speed and changes them to use the Sniper mode, but they cannot (effectively) fire indirectly, and locks out their Stunning shell; Siege mode greatly limits their mobility but allows indirect fire and the Trajectory view, while locking out the AP / HEAT shell. SPGs get Smoke and Flare shells as a consumable; smoke reduces detectability but also shortens view range, flare increases detectability (and possible improves view range a bit). Interesting you would have the T110E4's cupola weak to make it stronger than the T30. I don't know how either of these play on pc, but in wot blitz, the E4's turret armor is basically useless because of the weak cupola, which is why it's worse than the T30.
Yes, Object 726 in wot is op, but I think armor values are the same as in the real life. Yet the most disgusting things in this game are Wheel tanks (try to drive to 100 km/h and shoot irl, do a 180° turn without being reversed) then kranvagn, here we have a problem, more of two by games, no weak spots (cupolas are two small and in some angles you cannot touch them) only thing to penetrate the turret is play gold, under the gun with a good valued gold ammo. There is the same problems on YOH tiers X. Wargaming prefer add non historical tanks that historical, almost all soviet tanks tiers x are real or in plan. (real: IS-7, IS-4, Object 268, Object 277, Object 140, T-62; in plan: Object 268 4, Object 268 5, Object 261, T-100LT, Object 907, Object 705, T-22) if Wargaming continues add unreal shit tanks in two years, if this game does still exist we will have lazer gun, IEM gun, T-100LT with missiles (like in real life), IT-1...

It's fun to see EU region community trying to make this into a better game (from perspective of RU region player). WoT was great in the beginning, but now they just keep adding imbalance or completely unplayable tanks, shitty maps and money grabbing events, like the recent marathon for WZ-114 (which is unplayable peace of shit, that skilled players call "bonus code" :D). Nobody in a thousand years can make WoT a good game. But i respect the aspiration.
Putting yourself in their shoes: Its difficult. As someone balancing games myself, there is always a plan and the players ruining your plan. Once they make a mistake, they cant fix it. They promised to not nerf any reward/premium tanks anymore. Overall i still think, it is a very good game. And you still can kill any tank if you are a good enough player.

Unlike most youtubers chems actually have an opinion and have no problem sharing it with everyone, starting discussions about certain things and bringing up possible changes. If wot won't change anything it would be amazing if they atleast responded to why things are the way they are although it probably is just money.

What about a rework of the RNG scale. In order to make the game less "Random" by decreasing the scale of it in order to avoid certain aberrations. And maybe also reveal any tank stats that are "hidden" because there are clearly things that don't fit with the tank stats once in play.

I would change arty, so they are usable at close range (regular hp, some armor sometimes) but terrible accuracy at long range. Increased splash damage. Make them derp! Change some arty to TD, but keep the arc fire to be able to fire over small obstacles. Arty should still be a tiebreaker when the two sides are stuck in hulldown and no one can pen each other. So medium range arty or derp close range arty, make your choice on what branch you will choose. Bring back weakspots. Allow more flank routes. Nerf op tanks. Remove invisible walls. Make a minitank gamemode where all of the tanks are 1/4 of their original size. Nerf gold so you can't carry full stowage of gold (and nerf a bit of its pen) make all tank 100% accurate if the target is at 50m. Allow to plan your drumms (AP, AP, and then HE for that arty ahaha). Bring back old chat. Skill influenced mm. Camouflage for credit like in wotb. Bring back movable camo net and binoculars.

I agree with every single point except the is4 one. You don't even play it if you want the marshmallow turret back. Every tank is taller than it, and when facehugging can fill the top of your turret with shells with absolute ease.
I'll make my own impact on artillery balance. 1: Range. Make arty have less range. Currently, it is enough that it can shoot from one corner to another. Half that. That'll make arty camp at the base less and actually do something 2: Hp, stabilisation, accuracy, armor. A lot of these would have to be buffed, but not higher than tank destroyers. Arty would be less scared of being backline. Arty would be less backline. Speed as well, camouflage perhaps. A lot of second-hand buffs for arty-users being able to enjoy playing the game 3: Remove stun altogether, nobody likes that, no games with a stun mechanic have it appreciated, WoT isn't an exception, Now, non arty users aren't sniped from beginning of the game, and arty users can actually enjoy playing with less shitty rng hindering their fun. Sounds easy, doesn't it?
I know people who have contacted wargaming directly and have tried something like this, it doesn’t work. There seems to be a disconnect between the wot employees, and the higher ups that make the decisions, and they do not listen to anybody at all.
Nobody in wargaming higher-ups cares about the game (shocking). All they care about is money. The target audience of wot are drunkards, who don't care either.
You cant delete artys, it’s unfair to them. But you can make a setting where players can choose match without artys, and more players don’t like artys in their matches, many of them will use this Opt-out Menu, and thus artys players will have longer Queues for matches. This will be more fair.
Just refund them silver and XP, and gold if they used premium time. Then delete the arty. There is no reason why someone should be able to sit in the base, jack off, and click literally one button the WHOLE game, and get thousands of damage.

Can't everything with a gun larger than 121mm overmatch the armor on the strv103b? Therefore making the ricochet mechanic useless for about 90% of the tanks it goes against? Did they change it back?
