I've had 15+ years of pain that has resolved with this video. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I feel like I have a new confidence and a new lease on life.
62 year old runner here going through my first hip strain injury from a foolish over exertion interval hill session I did last month. These exercises are terrific and offer immediate relief from the tension and some pain I get there. And yes you need to keep doing these daily to get strong back there. I also use resistance bands which too.
Clear, concise, and easy to understand and follow instructions. I hope you realize just how much good you are pouring out into the world. I'm currently in PT for an inability to lift myself up a stair on my right leg. Your explanations help to visualize and understand the exercises I'm doing. This particular post is golden. Thank you, Dr Rowe.
Your intro is prob the most important thing for people to understand that *lengthening* (stretching) AND strengthening are both critical. You can't just stretch hips and expect a fix IMO. My issue has been I am quite flexible but some of these muscles are weak while others over-compensate. Having these videos combine the stretch then the strengthening (and balanced all around) have been great tools for me. You do them in a way that makes it fluid and easy to do. Thank you!
Had lower back pain on one side the last week or so. It's also the side of my current tight/sore hip flexor, had no idea they could be related, will work on these, thanks doc!
I’ve been in pain for 6 months because of surgery and no doctors can tell me a way to help my self besides this I found on RU-vid. Thank you, you give me a little more faith in doctors
Thank you so much. I have been dealing with this pain for about an year know, I’ve seen 3 different doctors who all diagnosed it as sciatica and told me it will go away, I’ve seen 2 different chiropractors who tried all sorts of different treatments. Following this video is the first time I have actually achieved any type of pain relief
Hallelujah. Been under an osteopath for months due back pain caused by tight hip flexors. Only been told to do the typical hip flexor stretch and nothing like this, and things weren't improving. In one session using this I have relieved alot pressure in my back and I can feel the benefits already and how weak my flexors are. Thanks 🙌🙌🙌
Thank you so much, Dr. Rowe. Your presentation is very clear. I have this problem on my right hip flexor, and it's rather painful. I'm grateful for these exercises.
I've had low back, hip, and leg discomfort for some time. I was a gymnast for 15 years and struggled through the pain never finding much help even after 10 years of being out of the sport. My massage therapist recommended 5 minutes a day of "opposite activation" for hips and back etc. as my dental hygiene job has me sitting and hunching over to work on patients. I have done this video 1 time so far but already notice the relief and a general feeling of strength in those areas. I will continue to do this video and am very glad I came across it. Thank you!
Thank you for this combination of exercises. I found them all doable after doing your sitting hip exercises for a few weeks. Also loved the pace. Excellent.
Thank you so much for this! I’ve had a very sore hip flexor stemming from a broken ankle injury (6 weeks in a cast = weak leg and tight muscles). Love your videos!
Thanks Dr. Rowe, so glad this came up on my feed. Your exercises have helped me tremendously. This exercise is the icing on the cake. I believe that my back problems have always stemmed from my hip flexors. Your easy to follow instructions are so helpful. Finally undoing years of back and hip pain. 🙏
Super delighted to have found this channel! I decided to focus on increasing flexibility this year because I've really noticed changes in my range of motion since the pandemic (waaaay to much time sitting). I'm also starting to find positions less comfortable and receiving little "threats" from my back that I could be in trouble if I don't put some consistent effort into improving things. One thing I would be interested in--I'm quite overweight. I appreciate the modifications you sometimes mention and would welcome even more!
thank you so much. i play basketball and my left hip especially has just been killing me everyday especially on the court. but this helped explain what and why was causing it and how to fix it. instantaneously subscribed.
I’ve had significant hip flexor pain for the last month resulting from playing on a paddle board at the lake. My pain was the most severe when laying down, so sleep has been terrible!! Taking Advil and Aleve to the point of passing blood and barely phased the pain, but this video made a huge difference within 24 hours of following the video example of how to stretch. Thank you SO VERY MUCH!!
Thanks you doctor l will try these exercises l have pain in my hips and pelvic for the past seven months now just hoping to feel better 🙏 in the night no good sleep
Thank you for these exercises and stretches. I have been suffering with these exact problems on and off on my right side for months and it really hampers my running and I could feel it helping almost immediately.
Dear Michael, I'm writing to you from Germany. I like your exercises. They are so good and "easy". 😂 The Training helped me a lot and because of this, I recommend your exercises to my friends. They have good success with them too. So thank you verry much for that. 💕👍
Even though I'm almost 80, I'm pretty flexible, but my hips were hurting today even during a short walk. I watched this video and did some of the stretches. I had no idea that my thigh muscles were so tight! I think a regular session of stretching is going to help.
Wow. I’ve been hobbled by my right hip flexor for more than two months and after one sesh I don’t feel like the crypt keeper any more. Putting on my calendar to do nightly as part of my bedtime routine. I will heal and strengthen. Thank you!!!
This video changed my life honestly. I do a different stretch at the end but. I had SHARP pain where I was afraid to walk. I do these everyday AND take Turmeric Curcumin pills. I agree to strengthen the area to make pain go away.
Thank you so much for this video! My hip flexors got to me last night after a workout Friday. The exercises you showed provided fast relief and much more range of motion for me! Thank you thank you THANK YOU!!!
New subscriber here. So glad your shorts came to my feed about back pain. Just went here to see if you've got something for the hip too.... and look at that, found it! Thanks so much. Been feeling back, hip and knee pain lately either, or or both. Wonder if it's my age starting to make itself felt (turning 50 soon). Never had these pains before, it's all new (months after covid).
I am clearly the target audience for the hips flexors/psoas exercises. Even the warm up is difficult for me. I will try them anyway and hope for progress. But it’s been going for a while now. I was beginning to think that I might even need cane, especially in the winter. It has reduce my quality of life considerably since I can’t even go out for a short walk in the neighborhood. Thank for these videos.
Also causes cramps on your legs more on the left side though. The exercises does work and if you added the yoga strength on your spine. Is like a miracle. The table work when stretching my left legs it shakes. How can I help my leg? Thank you very much.. you have helped me a lot!!!
Had such a painful groin the last couple weeks from running. And now lying in bed can't sleep cos my hip is in agony too. Yet again your videos come along for exactly what I need at the right time. Hope this works. Thank you mate
Thanks so much for posting this! My right hip flexor began hurting last year not too long after having meniscus repair. Not sure if it’s related to that. Regardless, my hip flexors have continued to be an issue while I exercise and some movements have been difficult or impossible because of it. I just did all the exercises in this video and they feel better. I will continue until they are healed and straightened. Blessings to you and thanks again!
I wrestle profesionally, and have built a tightness in my mid-lower back on the right side. it's been somehting I've just dealt with for the last 4-5 years. Recently I pinched a nerve in my back, and it got to the point where I couldn't wipe my own butt without struggling, so I started seeing a chiropractor who's done wonders to get me back but that tightness in my back from before is still there and what he's been doing to the muscles is only helping so much. a few minutes of this and I feel like that target area is being worked. It's not perfect relief but it's a massive step in the right direction.
This… is really helping. I think I’ve going through what have been motions that are too easy, while this gives me a plan of progression. Will be looking forward to the next few months to see how these hip flexors of mine strengthen.
I'm about to try these to the best of my ability. If I don't have to time to do all of them, which strengthening exercise should I focus on if i need to strengthen where the front/top of my thigh, meets my hip/hips? For now, I have the time so I'm just going to do them all. And thank you so much for these videos, we need more RU-vidrs like you! 🙂😊
❤thank you....have been trying to figure how to deal with pain inthis area. Will do these. I always refer to you even for vertigo!! Definitely works for me.😊
Just found you! Really good stretches and strengthening exercises. I've been involved in some form of PT then added yoga after an auto accident many years ago! Always looking for new ways to stay limber! Such a nice plus that you're right here in Michigan! Look forward to more from you!🙂🙏
Psoas cobra, for the psoas muscle. Yes, with any underlying major back injuries, it's advised to talk to your doctor or chiropractor first before taking on new exercises.
