Hi there! What do you want to see next in a quilty questions video? Any quilting problems you need solved? Something you want me to dive into and explain? Let me know in the comments below! I would love to hear from you 😃
I struggle with quilting my smaller quilts on my home machine. I know I am over thinking it and my biggest challenge is how to pick a design. Do you think you could do maybe a series on how to quilting a home machine? I really love your videos. Have a great day
can you explain tread. I bought thread at a discount store. Every time I try to use it the tension is way off. Auto doesn't work with this tread and I can't seem to get it adjusted to work properly. I appears to bee the same as other treads but it isn't.
Thank you, Irene! Your explanation about sewing machine tension was superb. For the first time, I understand what sewing maching tension means and how to correct tension problems. Wonderful!
You are a fabulous teacher, Irene🧡 this is the best tutorial by far on tension problems🧡 your illustrations are indeed helpful🧡 thank you🧡 and yes... love that Bernina of yours🧡🧡🧡
Excellent illustration. I can never remember which tension problems create which inaccuracies. Thank you. Your explanation is very logical! Now it all makes sense. 😊
Great tutorial Irene!, so clear and perfect visuals. I had problems recently and it was my threading that was wrong, and fluff in bobbin area. Wonderful to see you effortlessly using your beautiful Bernina.....amazing technology.!
I don't quilt, but I was desperately Googling for a solution to my tension problem, and you saved the day! Thank you so much for explaining things in an easy to understand manner!
Hi, I have never really understood tension. You laid it out so nicely. Easy to understand can't wait to see what works as I am having issues on my current project. Thanks again for such clear instructions. The graphics did help as well.
Hi Irene, what a super fun video and stuff you make. I am totally new to sewing and quilting, when I was little I used to do it with my mother's stuff. I would like to start this again. This is certainly due to your enthusiastic videos. Now I was wondering if you would like to make a video of what items you definitely need and where you can buy them. Thanks again for the videos and I look forward to the next one. Groetjes Cindy
Thank you for all your help! Very helpful. Can you please tell me where you purchased the rack that is holding your fat quarters and that is behind you? I love that.
Hi Cathy! I got it at Hornbach, they are stacked wooden crates: www.hornbach.nl/shop/Houten-kist-400x150x300-mm/5065590/artikel.html But it's a Dutch shop..
This is a great video. I have been sewing for 30 years but never really understood this. Now I do. My issue is that the bottom thread has very loose threads. What is a fix for that?
Maybe you can check if your bobbin is being wound properly. Is it not too loosely wound? Or check the tension on your bobbin case if that is ok. Giving your machine a good clean can also help in some cases. Or take it for a (yearly) checkup at the store. Hope that helps!
Thank you for this video. I also sew on a bernina! I am having issues with when I go over multiple layers. It only seems to be an issue sometimes. All is threaded correctly. Should I be changing tension when i go over the thicker parts? Thank you!
I've noticed that my tension works perfectly when I'm piecing, but when I'm machine quilting with my walking foot, the tension is always off! With the top too tight and the bobbin looping out the top. I don't know what wrong.
Ah you're the best! Yes I do have a store (and thinking about patreon, but haven't set that up yet) My shop is over here: www.sugaridoo.com/product-category/quilting/
What about if I'm still getting locks on the surface of my fabric no matter what the thread tension is set at? Even when I've turned the dial all the way down to 0...I've also adjusted the bottom bobbin tension and believe it to be right, if anything it might be a slight bit too tight still....is that why I can't get rid of the locks on top even with my tension set to 0 on top?
In my case, forward stitches are sewn perfectly. But for the same fabric, same layers, same thread, in reverse stitch my top tension is too low (bobbin thread tension is too high) Please advice. What might be the problem with my Brother GX37? Its a brand new machine.
Hi wanted to let you know that I did subscribe and your ebook on the quilting stitches/patterns is not being emailed. I did it yesterday and still nothing I did check in spam folder also. I believe I saw another comment asking how long it takes to get the ebook???
Sugaridoo I subscribed to your e-mail list yesterday but have not received the ebook. Is there a place I could just download it? Thanks! (Edited to add that I have checked my spam folder as well :) )
I have a problem but have not been able to find a resolution. Maybe you can help or direct me. My machine always jams after about a minute of free motion work. I have tried all the regular checks: new needle, rethreading, check bobbin, a better thread. It always starts out fine then jams with thread wrapped around bobbin and bobbin pulled upward. Maybe this is a common problem. if so, could you address it?
