1) Uninstall Firestorm
2) Uninstall display drivers using DDU, select clean uninstall+reboot
3) Wait for Reboot
4) Power off PC, Take out GPU leave for 15 mins.
5) Install the Nvidia Display Driver V456.38

6) launch the v1.2 firmware tool as admin
drive.google.com/file/d/1p3Uc...
7) press the update button and select the bin file that came with the download when prompted.
8) The update should go to 1-5 if it is successful. Mine failed the three times. It kept not responding at 1-2 or 1-3. After a few repeats of just relauching the firmware updater in admin, it just worked.
8) once it completes the gpu led's will flash
9) install the firestorm app and you will be able to access spectra

10) you can then download geforce experience and update to the latest nvidia drivers
11) Subscribe, like comment.

this worked for on my 3080 thankfully, appreciate the content man!! .. although I didnt disconnect the gpu just turnt off power switch for a minute and I had to set fwtool to compatibility to win 8 for it to work 1st try. hope this helps anyone else with this issue.

Thankyou so much this worked! It failed around 15 times but I just kept going and eventually it finally completed. To anyone having this problem with update failing just keep going until it works, could take 3 tries or 50 but it will work for you eventually

Awesome. This worked for me too. I wasn't confident enough to physically remove my card so I thought whatever I'll try it without removing and it worked nonetheless!

Once you set your RGB in Firestorm you can uninstall it and it will maintain those settings. One less piece of bloatware to worry about ;) Nice vid mate!

Yup they told me to RMA it. Figured I'd post the fix that worked for me, glad its working now. Just be wary of the app and using it too much lol

Hello, just to say Thank You! Your video was first recommended in solving this issue. Lucky for me i updated firmware in First Try and Lights went Flashing! This was a problem that was bugging me for a Year now in hope that Zotac would give some Software Update but they just ignore it! Have you used Firestorm again after the solution or should i just leave it as it is?

Bro my RGB is stuck at red, did you have the same issue? I dont have the fan issue and RPM issue, my only issue is my GPU is stuck on the color red and anytime i try to change the color to a different one, it starts blinking red & black all over the place instead of being static red

Thanks. Managed to jiggle my fan back into action, after trying steps. Seems I Thumbed it while swapping thermal pads. Or shit got stuck in there. Cheers

Mine gets stuck on 2-1 did yours also cross over 1-5 ?it just skips 1-5 after 1-4 Edit: fixed it just had use the latest bin file from program files

Guys i tried this method but no fix I don't know but this fixed mine do this Right click on fwtoolv1.2 go to compatibility tab and run the program with compatibility mode for windows 8. Yes sounds crazy but that fixed mine i don't know why. I have a 3080 zotac trinity. and GGZII thanks brooo!!!

mine does that too but doesn't bother me as long as my card is cool works for me but i tried to use white rgb but for some reason the card rgb doesnt have white its only green or blue

I have the same issue but in a 3090... when I finish to playing the fans stop and run again, and stop and run again... and so on. I have write to zotac and I have received no response... I guess in the future they release a bios update and a new drivers than solve this... but it's really annoying.

when i try to make the colour of the rgb to white it makes it green and lightly white on the end, you know how to make it FULLY white by any chance??

In the fw updater when first launched I always see 'read device type error!'. I click update, select the fw file, always then just hangs at 1-1 (tried the Windows 8 compatibility mode and running as administrator too). I followed all other steps to the letter. Zotac 3090 Trinity. No LEDs, fan issues :(

I got mine today only half side RGB is lighting up and the left side is just dark. Is this the same issue or its hardware defect. Will this help ?

Hi i have same problem with the fans that spin & stop evrey few sec. And another problem is the gpu work on max clock mhz 1710 in desktop not in game. Does this steps fix the max clock as well? Thanks.

Just basically download msi, go to msi settings and enable user fan and apply.

You can update to the latest nvidia drivers after you have installed the older ones I assume and it still works?!

Didn't fix mine I have figured out that firestorm thinks I have the wrong card it shows a picture of the trinity card rather than amp Holo which explains why less lights are on but not clear on a fix yet

@@paulclark5319 You will need the firmware for the card and apply the same steps. I recommend asking on reddit zotac, a staff member will give you some help for the link then try this again. Good luck!

Bro my RGB is stuck at red and has been stuck at red ever since I built my PC. I dont have the fan issue and RPM issue, my only issue is my GPU is stuck on the color red and anytime i try to change the color to a different one, it starts blinking red & black all over the place instead of being static red. Something to note as well is that the zotac logo on top of the GPU I can change, but the "Zotac GAMING" is stuck at red on the front of the GPU.

Do I still install that driver? I got mine a week ago and the RGB is fine but my fan is worse off. It turns off and on in 2 second intervals and doesn't get anywhere near as fast as your broken fan did

@@Jan-gj8bm Make sure you enable it the msi options pannel. Click the cog, fan, enable user defined software automatic fan control and tick that and then tick force fan speed update on each period

@@ggzii I'm pretty sure I did that. But aren't all 3 fans supposed to ramp up on startup? I've looked up videos and they all do that, but my middle fan does the same start stop thing. I also put it in my dads computer and it did the same thing

@@Jan-gj8bm I'd DDU clean the drivers, then resintall with a fresh MSI and follow those steps. It's a pain but it's much better than the RMA which I wanted to avoid

I just got a Zotac 3080 and I've never had so much of a headache from a card!!! I had the 0 rpm problem spent 2 days trying to fix it!!! Thought there was something wrong with the card? Kept on Thermal throttling even when under clocking the fans just wouldn't stay on?It would literally throttle to worse then a 3060TI.... Tried to do a Bios update to no avail swapping ports nothing worked spent ridiculous amount of hours Firestorm and Afterburner.....I was ready to have to RMA the card Then after 2 days started trying different fan control software? And Low and Behold!!It was all a software issue.... Tried Ponys Velocity X overclocking utility and It Worked!! Now have Full Control of Fans!! For some reason? Afterburner didn't work nor did Firestorm.... Go Figure?......

Mate im at 3:30 and im still questioning, for me the fans are not the issue that works fantastic, only My RGB doesnt work or registers any change by the software So basically, Zotac are incompetent software coders and they are terrible in making a software like iCUE. its a cool card dont get me wrong but the software is absolutely doggo

I'm a bit late, but I did Only thing I did differently is the Bios Flashing of the GPU. I used nvflash instead of the program he used. It worked perfectly for me

GUYS GUYS BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING FROM THE VIDEO... *SWITCH* your display port from the GPU to the motherboard. That fixed it for me.
