@@tiberius1837 I was literally just watching The Orville before this video, couldn't help seeing it. I'll probably get a Zotac 40 card next year, it's the only aib design I like so far.
Due to its size and price, I would rather pay 200 more and get a 4090. I think a lot of people feel the same, as once a week you can easily get a 4080 near me, but cant find a 4090. I am going to wait and see the benchmarks from team red.
No, the 4080 is objectively the worst cost/benefit you can get right now, outside of ridiculously overpriced 3090's and what not, you did a bad purchase, accept it
Super impressive card by zotac, didn't expect such nice cooling performance from it, yet it's so silent. And I think it's the best looking 40 series card, the smooth edges and the fans too looks very elegant.
I think they need to start working on power consumption, gpu performance today is good enough for 4k 120fps. Nvidia needs to learn the environmental impact of energy. Also developers of PC games, for the love of G-O-D, optimize their games.
I already thought it was one of the best looking cards when the first AIB cards were appearing in media, now I think it is even better looking. Normally don't care too much about RGB but on this one it actually makes an already good looking card look even better.
Not only did Zotac design the sexiest looking shroud and backplate, but their engineers have really been working overtime. Zotac actually created a truly ducted fan tip shroud that fits snugly around the fan tips and extends back deeply to the fins like a mini jet engine that should generate incredible air pressure for cooling. THE PRICE OF THE CARD STILL SUCKS TOO MUCH TO EVER PAY THAT MUCH!!
@@goochipoochie eww how is a plain rectangle-shaped gpu with some colors on it looks better than this? thats like saying a box-shaped car is better looking than mclaren/bugatti XD
Okay, you know what, it would be amazing to see you build a fully modded build around that card, Jay. Like a very themed, focused build. Like the Star Wars ones you've made. That'd be dope.
I never ONCE seen a pc builder use one, and only seen them in pre-built K-Mart garbage PC's. Do not waste you money, get a real brand name like asus, msi, or gigabyte ... do buy b/c Jay is being paid to shill this crap. Jay has NEVER built a PC with this brand of video card before, & he'd lose HALF his followers if he did.
@@Sluka. I made a post to try and help people from buying a garbage GPU, so you attack me? Damn that speaks volumes about where you're coming from. Did your feels get hurt because you bought the wrong card?
@@uwva4640 Not if you do like I did: Get the Lian-Li Strimer GPU cable, plug the nvidia adapter into the gpu, use regular power cables to connect to the adapter, then zip tie the bundle to the back of the strimer, where the main cables are, and run the strimer up to the gpu, and tuck the not needed 8-pin plugs into the gap between the cooler and PCB, so it LOOKS like it's plugged in. That way, you get all the RGB goodness, and no messy power splitting nonsense.
320 watts x140% = 448 watts which aligns with the 450w rating of the 3x8pin. That's why the slider goes up to 140% (also there's an extra 75 watts available from the board slot as well.)
I get such Star Citizen vibes from it, reminds me specifically of the 300i and 100i (if you're not familiar with the game just google: Origin 100i / Origin 300i and go to images, you'll see them)
I just got the ZOTAC trinity non-OC 4090. It has performed better than the 4090 FE I had in every category. Very impressed with Zotac. It is my first product from them.
@@itsk0mma Yes. The only downside to the card is the noise that the fans make, it's kind of a low growl sound. Bothered me, didn't bother my wife. So just doemds on that. Other than that, card is amazing.
@@itsk0mma it's not effected by speed. It's the motor sound. It probably won't bother you, just thought I'd mention it. I'm super super weird about noises. Which is one huge plus for this card compared to others, almost no coil whine at all. It's an awesome card bro. I've had several different ones Asus( the wost card, crazy loud coil whine), MSI liquid(also very loud coil whine) This card and FE almost no coil whine. Other than the FE, this was the best easily.
@@bdifferentb thank you for clarifying, I notice a horrible coil whine from my asus strix 1080ti when pushing it in some games, so I think I might know what you mean, we'll see how it does, I'm kinda sensitive to noise, but it depends on the noise if you understand what I'm trying to say.
@@Dominian1 what did they remove, that red boot up Light? I honestly thought that was kinda weird anyway. is it still the same blue/teal default lighting?
Not related but I would love to see a video showing how different monitor setups, monitor size, number of displays, ultra wide vs two monitors effect gpu load 👍
Plus 1 on this, I currently run 3 monitors (1440p) and would be curious if I disconnected two of them when gaming if it would be "faster" or affect anything.
@@suppressed_viii the reason why I am asking in the first place, he said when he was doing the last ultra wide review one untra wide was less load on the gpu then running a duel monitor setup. Also I would be interested in seeing how monitors of the same resolution and refresh rate change gpu load as they change in size.
I'm glad someone is doing a review of Zotac in a positive light. I remember for the longest time the majority of people I interacted with would shit on Zotac (especially the gtx 10 series) for being cheap or under-engineered. Despite the hate they normally get, my 1080ti (I had the AMP! edition, non-extreme) was able to boost up to the hard limit of 2.1ghz that all 1080tis had and never reached more than 89-90c without any modification. I'll admit I got lucky, though, with the 6700k that I had it paired with, since I got a binned processor (4.6ghz stable OC before delidding and liquid metal application). Best gaming rig I ever owned, but I digress. Point being, Zotac gets a lot of unnecessary hate, so this video was refreshing to see.
@@roosterbooster6238 they usually are, but as with all things, I'd say don't just listen to others and do your own research, too, doing brand comparisons, checking for recalls, etc. when shopping for things like that.
zotac are garbage, worse graphic card you could waste your money on, get a asus, msi, gigabyte, a real brand name when spending real money. all this is is a polished turd.
i must honestly say, i very rarely skip your embedded commercials and find them highly entertaining. props to you guys for implementing a creative & engaging twist on the less-enjoyable aspect of the youtube platform (a man's gotta eat, right!)
Man, this card is really pretty. It's the first time I've seen it on, and the lighting is amazing, the right side of the card looks exactly like the back of the Orville spaceship.
@@jayb2705 exactlly what i did. I got the 4090 version and its a beast. But if you try to overclock it and u are using the fans at around 60 to 80% they do produce alot of sound. But if ure not overcloking they never go above 60 degrese in any game on full load. Kinda insane
The zotac apm extreme 2000 series (def the 2070) blew everything else out of the water. They had the best stock mem speeds. I'm not sure how much of a difference there is in today's card to card comparison, but they were top notch. I think there is a lack of name recognition.
After having bad experience after bad experience with zotac I decided that they're not worth the trouble of dealing with. Glad to see the quality going up though maybe they can work on their RMA and customer service next.
@@fynkozari9271 I think you're the first person to make a assumption.. Oh wait you're not. But you are the first in this comment section who doesn't understand how a company makes money, even more so when you are a Partner with Nvidia if you can even call it a partnership.. Nvidia see them more as a way to ship their cards and use them as a distributor and they don't really play fair with them and hurts AIBs bottom line, it makes them have to really increase their prices.. See Nvidia sets the prices of their own cards undercutting the AIBs, so how are they even able to make money with such a partnership? Clearly you were the only one who didn't look into what EVGA went through
@@deagle7776 bruh are u for real? He's just saying the GPU is aesthetically pleasing for him. what is the point of this reply? There are a bunch of other comments highlighting the price; please bring ur reply there.
I am honestly waiting till April when I get my bonus before pulling a trigger on a new GPU. I am still very happy with my 6600xt and have no reason to change. A very cool card though. I used to run a Zotac 1070ti, but I always found the thermals middling. Glad to see the improvements over the years
I just got that card as my first GPU just built my first gaming pc during the summer before I quit my job, currently looking for a new so i'm going to wait until I find one and upgrade to a 4080 instead.
I just got the 4090 yesterday and everybody says it looks like a maxi pad lol. I agree on the space ship look though. Definitely prefer it to the super boxy designs of the other cards this gen. Also, the 4090 amp extreme airo hit's 3 GHz really easily. Pretty crazy.
Just got the 4090 version at MicroCenter. Upgraded from a 3090 Gaming Trio X. I was concerned about the width (HYTE Y60 case) but it fit perfectly, with enough room for airflow. Some versions barely have room between the fans and the glass. The card itself looks great however, in a Y60 case, the curves make it look out of place since the rest of the case is straight/angular. For a regular case where the front of the card is not on display, it wouldn’t matter. The RGB accents look really nice and the warranty seems solid. The packaging DOES look SUPER premium. Two thumbs up! 🤣
When I saw the first reveal/leak of most of the AIB variants, this one caught my eye the most. Instantly reminded me of the Orville. This one is probably the 40 series card I get. Most cards have to many angles, lines, etc. EVGA seemed to be the only one doing curves.
yeah for the 30 series i was totally in love with the asus rog strix designs and paid almost no attention to zotac cards, but for the 40 series the asus rog strix designs disappointed me and somehow zotac claimed the spot. their cards just look so sexy this series
I installed the 450 W Bios my trinity and yeah it's def voltage limited. I came from the FE cards. I would have never bought a Zotac because of their 30 series build quality but they've really stepped it up. It feels more solid than my 3090 STRIX too. The trinity reached 3Ghz and went to 370 Watts at this point I'm voltage limited. Not disappointed in this card at all.
@@Madblaster6 good to know but Jay never gave it that extra .1 volts to try to get a 3ghz stable oc. So the card is voltage limited just like just like every other 4080. I may buy it
I've had a ZBOX Magnus, and a Zotac 3090 in one of my rigs for a while, very impressed with their products, and I LOVE the look of these latest gen cards. I'd love to see a star trek themed build around this card... LOVE to see it!
Is there a notable difference between the AIRO and Trinity models? Also, how is the coil whine with Zotac cards? I’ve heard some horror stories with the ASUS TUF and STRIX models.
I bought that same exact card and I should get it next week. Thanks for taking a look at it. Yes the 4080 overall is expensive but this card did not have a big markup over the 4080 FE card compared to some of the other AIB's and I am coming from a 2060, so for me it will be a huge jump in graphics performance.
When the 4090's released and were out for a couple of weeks it was the Zotac models that I was looking to buy. All of the other 4090 cards were bricks with designs glued onto them. Zotac IMO took the brick, laid it on a design bench, rubbed their chins for a moment or two and said give it sexy curves. Upon doing that when they were finished they popped out the 4090 variant of the card you were testing. Out of all of the the other clean and straight designs it is the MSI Suprim that I like the best. But out of all designs as a total I like the Zotac design over everything ese. :)
@@himangshumahanta5398 Yes it does. Even if it's not as curvy as the Zotac it still has some nice rounded corners. Plus it is white and silver which helps with its' clean appearance. The other cards are nice but they're just so square looking even with the aesthetics the AIB's gave them.
I won't lie, I just got done finishing a $5200 build over two years with the final piece being a 3080 I bought second-hand. I don't foresee myself buying any new parts for quite some time, several years at least with the way transistor counts are progressing every so often. I used to build a new rig every other year and now I just don't see the point in spending that much money for fewer and fewer gains, but I digress. I'm happy with what I have so far. 🥰🥰
I'm including everything, the desk, the monitors, the mic, the speakers, peripherals, and I've had to replace several parts along the way. Started with a 1600 and now I'm using a 5900x, there were 3 CPUs in this build over the two years. Also the 3080 was $500.
I really want to do a Star Trek theme (TNG/DS9/Voy Era) on my next build, the curves on the card really remind me of the enterprise D, the blue lighting is perfect, even the pearlescent paint kind of looks like the hull of voyager. I was thinking of putting a gif of the warp core running on one of those little screens AIOs have now. Anyone know Ram that would suit, also trying to figure out a perfect case too.
I don't think the 4080 price is the problem, it's the whole gpu market that is still too high. You can't get a 4090 for msrp right now and the 3090/ti are both more expensive than the 4080. Even 3080ti prices seem extremely high right now, almost as much as a 4080. Until the new amd cards release the 4080 isn't looking so bad and I can absolutely see why people are buying it. Also this zotac card looks amazing, I don't care for most rgb but when tastefully done like this it looks great.
Thank you! I thought it looked great, as a matter of fact, it's the only one I wanted when the 4090's were released, so I was fortunate enough to snag a 4090 Zotac Trinity. It is very nice, and well built.. .cool and quiet, I usually hover around 60 degrees celsius while maxed out gaming seen it get to 65 at the max. I imagine the 4080 should be the same or less. Idle temps are in the 30's. These things are massive, though, so an actual spaceship is a good comparison.
I think actually that the last time I had that same " wow " , was 10 years ago with the Asus cards running the heatpipes out like a motorcycle exhaust ... made for great reflection of case lighting
at 3:48 it lookes like the front grill of a 2014 Ford Mustang but then when it lights up it looks like the backside of the Orville either way its got a very clean aesthetic
Indeed a rather good all around looking card compared to some over the top/weird/cheap plastic designs this gen. Many of them would be fine on a 200$ card while this is unique and looks good even at this price point. In general looks are fine on Zotac for a while now. What they can have issues with is lighter cooling solutions. Looking at you, cheaper radiators on Twin edge 3060-3070s with server level fan noise. You have to save somewhere, right?
zxotac makes low grade video cards, never waste your money on them, btw I do believe the comments here are over come with bots pushing this item, & all repeating Jays talking points, guess zotac gave him talking points to cover when they where paying him to shill this polished turd.
I really love that lighting design. I normally don't care for RGBs that much because it doesn't make the card faster, just more expensive. But this looks really cool! I just hope they do something similar for AMD cards (although maybe in red), because I sure as hell won't be buying an Nvidia card anytime soon.
Jay... I think what you were trying to say is in order for the smaller fans to have the same effectiveness as the larger fans, they have to spin faster. Hence, the smaller fans would be louder than the larger fans.
11:31 I actually can hear it even through crumby JBL Bluetooth earbuds. I also have a trained ear. Mic sensitivity rating, preamp gain, etc. might be potential reasons you can’t hear it but some can.
I just bought mine today with the corsair sleeved cables, it looks so good! I move the cable over the card and towards the right side of it so it doesn't mask the RGB bar. That card is huge too! Make sure you got room for it. I have about 6cm between the edge of the card and the frame where my front fans are.
We get it Jay... you dont like it, but some people do. They like the flashy and the colors and the space model, not everythiung has to be square and colorless and without design. It's ok, be happy we got options.
If the adapter clicks before it is fully seated, and you have to keep pushing even when you think it is fully seated, you can't hardly call it a "user error" when adapters start to melt.
Great looking card! Its funny you mention a Star Citizen build because you said that about the Fractal Design Torrent and I've waited with anticipation for that. Hope you're able to put these two pieces together!

As I'm getting my remaining parts in, the only thing I had to not get best of is the video. I was able to snag an EVGA 3800 FTX Ultra, but very much want to upgrade when the craziness of prices comes down. However, the whole build is going to designing it to look like from the Star Trek DS9 series, A Dominion/Jem'Hadar Battle Cruiser. That card, is a BEYOND perfect match for this, and I so fuggin' badly want one now to finish.. Really hope these come down a bit in time!
to be fair, firestorm and ice storm are Apple's codenames for their performance and e-cores for their M processors. a quick check of their website says IceStorm is their branding for the cooling solution they used (makes sense) and FireStorm is their version of iCUE LED lighting control system (also makes sense)
If you do open build definitely the low freq. hum is more acceptible, but in closed case high pitch hum is better as high freqs are much to attenuate than low freq hum.
I got a 4080 because it's all they had. And with the way microcenter does no questions asked warrantee (assuming you don't open the card up or anything) if they had 4090s in stock I can just bring it back and upgrade. One of the workers told me that once and I've been abusing it for a long time lol
As GPU’s get bigger…why not just build them with a standard fan config frame / bolt pattern like case manufacturers do? Wouldn’t it be cool to have 2 or three of your favorite fans from Corsair or whoever to match the rest of your build?
