Your channel is my new hair favorite...I'm 66 with the same style and length, only difference is I have wavy and silver. After years of air drying only, I just replaced my T3 and GHD with Zuvi.
I love your hair tutorials! You’ve got a great voice & tempo that keeps me watching til the end. Gotta give you credit for getting me excited to style my hair tomorrow.
thank you for putting this up. I have fine hair that is neither straight or curly and find when I straighten my hair it goes flat. I tried just the straightening tips this morning and what a difference, going to try the drying and straightening tips tomorrow and see the difference. Thanks again
I must be really really old...I remember that video! Lol. And I still use the Aquage, it truly is the Best for volume. Thank you for all you do here on RU-vid!
Terri Mann it's the Aquage uplifting foam in an aqua colored can that she used in the beginning of the video. It is AMAZING and the best thing for volume. I have color treated, highlighted, fine shoulder length similar to hers and struggle so bad with volume. This is truly awesome, I buy it at Ulta or ulta.com. HTH 😊
Omg I should have found this out years ago !!! You are amazing to do show us . I was doing it all wrong and wondered why my hairdresser could make it look so good ! Thank you😀
Lol, I went to amazon.com to look up the l'oreal quick dry, and got 'customers who bought this also bought'...and the two items were aquage and the purple vented brush you're using. So after watching your video, a bunch of us trotted over to amazon for the l'oreal spray, aquage and the vented brush in this video. Love, love, love your videos!!!
Literally purchased a bottle of aquage that is as old as your thousand year old video. Reminded of it again today and used it (kinda gross that it’s the same bottle), still loving it.
Girl! You are clever. I learned some new tips - thanks. It’s taken me years to know much of what you have shown us here. The letting the hair cool is a biggie as are the holding angles you’ve demonstrated.
I bought my ghd specifically because it didn’t have a heat setting 😂 but it does have a chip in it that can detect by your hair how hot it should get. Loveeee it!!!
I betcha you are the one I was watching a long time ago, when I was just starting out on youtube and how to do this and do that. I came across a very beautiful young lady who had some really neat beauty tips. Long story short, I stopped watching youtube so much ... college, career, etc., but, been back lately tuning in again, and stumbled across you today, and here you are saying that you did a hair video YEARS ago, and it's just occurred to me that YOU could be the one I've been wanting to find again. Hope so. Anyway, the few vids I've watched so far are very nice. Keep up the good work!
This was a fantastic tutorial! I followed the tutorial, and it totally worked for me! I got lots of comments on how nice my hair looked for the next few days! (I only wash my hair every 3-4 days, so I left it straight for a few days after this, and it held up really well!) Thanks Kate! =)
Love your tutorials! The original version of this one is how I figured out how to finally get some volume in my baby fine hair. I've tried using the uplifting foam but it was too heavy for my hair unfortunately. I finally found my perfect product combo with Monat - Root Lifter & Blowout cream.
Great advice! I live in Miami in the humidity here is very high most part of the year. I dont like super straight hair so I will definitely try these tips. Thank you!
You are amazing, thank you. You're a good teacher ! So glad I found you, your video's are very informative and so easy to understand. You do have a look of Jennifer Aniston
i had to laugh when you said you discovered some product like 15 years ago at a hair show. You look very young. I wonder if you were like 12 years old at the time. That's a compliment to you actually. Your hair looks very nice.
I used to have a flat iron I loved that had a steamer button & detangling teeth on its plate. This was to detangle & smooth with anti frizz effect as it straightened. Maxi-Glide was its name. Also helps to not just apply root boosters but a heat protectant on the lengths of the hair, to keep the high temps from frying it!!
It was very helpful I am thinking of buying an flattener and I just have the same type of hair as you and I was always struggering with no volume in my hair. I will definitelly try it. It also seems to me that it is more gentle than drying hair with a round brush (plus I do not manage it at all :-)))
I remember discovering your channel/blog around the time of the original video! I have been a loyal follower ever since. Also have been a loyal buyer of aquage uplifting foam thanks to you! It's a must for lift and volume!! Happy holidays!
OMG...SOOOO SMART!! USE A DUCKBILL CLIP ON THE SECTION YOU DID! I TOTALLY ALWAYS HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND I CAN'T BELIEVE THE SOLUTION WAS SOOOOO SIMPLE! LOL THANK YOU!
This video has helped me so much and as a bonus, you're funny! The trick how to do the front of your hair, genius and works with my cowlick. I've tried the loreal blow dry spray. Definitely helps cut down on drying time, and I've tried the amika undone spray. If you have soft, fine hair like me, this product is magical. Not kidding. I've got to try the root lifter and looking forward to watching more of your videos. A very big thank you!
I love all the tips! ESPECIALLY the tip for the bangs, that's the hardest for me to get to look right. I usually give up and just pin it back, so this is perfect! Can't wait to try it tomorrow. Thanks for all the great info. You are such a cutie too! :)
I watched that video a long time ago and ever since have always wanted to try the aquage foam out and last week I finally purchased it and referred back to that video to use it, so yes it is still working! 😂 I’m glad you’re doing an update tho!
Never seen any of your Videos...Pro was fortunate to learn under the finest Artist Years ago..thought I couldn't be WOWED! Good Stuff!!! U sold me on that Blending Sheer..Anxious to View a couple of your other Videos! Good Stuff..will add to my Arsenal!
Thanks for this video. I have thin, fine hair that is semi curly so I straighten it but hate flat hair. I wanted to tell you about a new product I found that you will love. I discovered through Dominique Sasche watch her March 14 RU-vid she demos it and I was sold. It’s sold online in Florida called Healium .
Hi! I am curious to know- how do some people manage to have their hair blow dried almost everyday and still keep it looking healthy? Is it not supposed to dry your hair out in the long run?
Sectioning my hair is the bane of my existence. It does not like being sectioned. It’s so thick and wants to pull and tangle. I have taken more than an hour going through this process lol
I would like to also remind everyone that one of the main reasons she gets those nice face-framing pieces is because of he way her hair is cut. If you do not have a cut like here or similar, the effect will NOT be the same!
I resonate so well with the way you describe your hair and I suffer since I can remember that I can't put some volume in my hair... I have quite a lot of question :p but I hope to get a feedback just for two: 1. How do you manage to use the flat iron and still have your hair so healthy, I'm thinking to buy one but I'm afraid I'll make a mess out of my hair... 2. Could you recommend me a very light easy to handle blow dryer? I'm thinking of the new Harry Josh blow dryer but the price is insane and I am not sure it is worth it... Many thanks!!
lol I do the same thing to let my hair cool instead of using the cool button, it’s easier, with the hair all forward and in my face. I have the CHI flat iron too it has to be the best one it has a nice weight to it when you hold it and it’s very solid
Love this. I have medium to fine hair as well and I straighten mine to get the volume too. One more thing that I do is to add Paul Mitchell Skinny Serum to the ends and a couple inches up from the ends and it actually gives the illusion that there is even more volume on top as well as making it a bit more manageable ❤️
Would love a tutorial on how you do this on day 2... like how you sleep on it and what you do to refresh it for the second day... or maybe you just curl it?
Your hair looks great! Well done tutorial. How does the result differ from using a large round brush at the final blow dry stage? I have straight hair also and have never tried a flat iron because i thought it was used to straighten curly hair. I dry my hair 90% of the way in the same fashion as you and then finish with a very large round brush to get the result you get and I finish much faster. What am I missing?
Weird question, but how often do you wash your hair? I have fine hair that gets oily fast. Lately, I feel like I'm abusing my dry shampoo because I try to go so long without washing in fear that I will make it worse by washing too often.
When you get your haircut, what exactly do you ask them to do? Face framing angles? It’s exactly what I hope and envision my hair to look like ( when I leave the salon) but never what I get. I have very flat, silky hair as well.
Question- I bought the Acquage based on years of watching you and you always use it! It makes me super greasy super fast. I have bleach processed hair, and only wash my hair 2-3 times per week. Suggestions?
Great video. Can you suggest an unscented texture spray? The Amika spray has such a strong fragrance I can’t bear to use it, even though I like what it does to my hair.
great video but want to try a cordless iron which can take to anywhere, put in my bag, more convenient when there is no socket to plug in, just like this kind, not bad @t
Would the methods and products she used before she blow dried her hair, work on dry hair? I don’t wanna put double heat on my hair after washing it, with straightening + blow drying. I just prefer to air dry my hair. But do you need the volume that comes from the blow drying for this to work?
