I really enjoy your videos, it might be nice to see you work on a curly/wavy hair to curl it or straighten it the way you do yours. Maybe you have a gal pal that you can borrow. :)
I have super super thick long hair. My suggestion is also to use silk drops or some kind of smoothing cream before you flat iron instead of constantly combing through it. It will give tons of shine and help with frizz throughout the day. I get compliments every day on my hair.
I was subscribed to your channel ages ago, it was my go to for hair help, then it disappeared from my feed. I couldn't remember the name of the channel, so it disappeared completely. Now I was browsing some hair stuff and it popped up and to my surprise, it didn't come up as subscribed. So now I'm back in and hopefully RU-vid won't "unsubscribe" me against my will again.
me too....disappeared from my feed as well...and then I remembered the name of the channel....and looked it back up on RU-vid...I am still subscribed and on the alerts as well...so don't know why it went away either!
Yea.. when I saw her with " blow dried" hair.. I thought it was already straightened. Curly/wavy hair after being blow dried, still looks like we stuck our finger in an electrical outlet 😂🤣 can spend forever doing it. If its humid or gets one drop of water.. I'M FUCKED!!
I wonder if you would be willing to show your straightener skills on a much cheaper straightener. A lot of women don’t have even $50 to spend on hair tools. Also, you don’t take smaller sections towards the root underneath so that it’s all nice and flowy?
I have a pump protectant (chi iron guard). Do I need to let each dry before ironing or can I run thru right after spraying each section? Also, what’s a good temp for fine hair? Thx.
Great video!! I was definitely making some of the mistakes you mentioned. Going to try to flat iron my hair right now!! 😊 Quick question: Can you tell me what heat protectants you recommend? Thank you!!
What do you do when you have stubborn cowlicks? I have one on my crown, in the back of my head - and while the rest of my hair straightens well with my BioIonic 10x - it takes several passes to smooth it.
The mistakes: - Not using a heat protector (cream or spray) on damp hair before blow drying/straightening. Try to also take a break from heating generally. - Not sectioning (note: her hair was first split into 3 major sections: top, and bottom left and right. Bottom left and right were then each split into 3 smaller sections. Top was then split into right, back and left, with the right and left being split each into 3 smaller sections. Make sure that each section is not thick enough that the heat can fully penetrate it. Also, after finishing from the bottom major sections, clamp them instead of putting them in a ponytail) - Not adjusting the temperature of the flat iron - Not combing out hair before flat ironing it (note: she flat irons each section only once by going through it slowly) Tip: ironing each section towards the top direction will create volume as opposed to leaving it flat.
ikr i dont mean this rudely but i thought this information in this video was really basic and obvious. however i see a ton of comments saying "i was doing these things. thanks for the tips" and similar so i guess i shouldn't assume everyone knows this stuff... but like, section your hair and use a product thats sole purpose is protecting your hair from heat? idk how people can't have known this stuff ...
Thank you for sharing your helpful tips and tricks. My question is how to flat iron a side bang that is about half the length of yours? Do you pull it straight down or angle it to the side? Thanks Kate 💕
My hair is thin and frizzy. Stylists asked me if I brush it, no I only comb. Anyway, I bought a house with well water and my hair is in such better shape now and so much softer and less frizzy.
Thanks for this video, you must have read my mind this morning! UPDATE: I did everything you told me to do with my flatiron (a cheapo) and my hair finally turned out good today. I've been fighting with flat ironing it, and am always in a hurry and trying to iron huge chunks. It didn't take me as much time as I thought it would to get ready, by just following your steps and taking smaller chunks. I am so thankful for this video!
I have thick course naturally curly hair and the T3 is the best hair dryer ever made...it literally leaves my hair straight..without using a flat iron. But i think im gonna purchase a T3 flat iron after seeing this! T3's are a little pricey but so so worth it!
I definitely make some of those mistakes. Where I get hung up is doing the back of my hair. What if I want to curl it? I can't see back there and my goodness how do I get arms there🤣.
Candy Davis When you put your head on the pillow, gather up your hair as if you were making a pony on top of your head and then drop it over the pillow so that you aren’t laying on it and rubbing it against the pillow all night long. I also only sleep on satin pillow cases. Hope this helps.
What exactly is in heat protection spray that protects your hair? I haven’t had one person I’ve asked be able to answer this question and some have worked in a salon!
"...wheat proteins and silicones (silicone quaterniums, dimethicone) reduce heat damage, most likely by evening out how the hair heats up." -- labmuffin.com/how-do-heat-protectant-hair-products-work/
Well I did it backwards lol instead of watching the short length of time holding on your hair, I'm watching this and shopping for an necessary chemicals possibly needed from Amazon especially for frizz, I basically know but I need the best of the best due to living in the south, south and the wonderful heat so I don't want my hair to frizz lol
its gonna depend on your hair texture, your specific flat iron, etc etc. the best thing to do is just try different temperatures (try to use it as low as possible and then add heat) to find out what temperature works but is still safest/as kind as possible on your hair type. i'd start at like 330-350.
Very very helpful thank you ! You explain everything so detailed and demonstrate for first timers like me! You definitely just gained a new subscriber 😁🤗
Itsme Joanna I just found these hair ties that are no dent. They are like curly rubber like the key chains. Look corny like scrunchies, but they work!! No dents. Drug stores have them
PHENOMENAL job explaining mistakes and how to 10:51 I have been so frustrated with my hair, and not understanding what im doing wrong. Many have worked for me, and NOT kmow why....NOW I UNDERSTAND. i would always section & comb through or pullling to hard or too fast. i see you have listed a "mistakes blow drying. I'm headed next, then wash my hair again, and let's get this party started!!-
Hi! Have you ever tried TYME hair curler? I am desperate for something easy and a curl that will last. Is this product worth the money?? I’ve also checked out Lang air tools.. i am a total tomboy and have never been good at doing hair.. but i do want to look pretty!!!
Kate, I don’t flat iron but I do blow dry about three to four days a week. I’m currently looking for a new blow dryer. Can you tell me what you recommend. I’ve been looking at the L'ange, but really don’t know much about that brand. Can you please help.
I’ve got 3 x thicker hair, and my arms get tried by the time I have to do the second half of my head….if only I can train my husband to straighten my hair.
I love your hair it's gorgeous. I'm currently growing out my hair which is at the end of my earlobe. It's a bob how long would it take to get my hair to that length?
Try Costco for T3 flat iron. I got mine there for like $50. Otherwise you can pick up a Chi at Ulta for a little more than that if you watch for their sales & coupons.
@@shannonshank8442 I wish I still lived in the States sometimes, when I hear about the great deals at Costco, TJ Maxx, Marshall's, etc.. 😁 💜 Unfortunately, I live abroad so I don't have access to Costco, but thanks for the tip. Maybe someone else can use the advice in buying a flat iron. 😁 💜
My hair is fine and coarse, if I try to section it it resembles mozzarella cheese,it doesn't behave like yours, making it a nightmare to style...Hairdresser makes it look great,me, not so much...I've got the boar hair brushes, expensive masks, shampoo, conditioner, heat protection spray...my hair literally hates them all and me.....it resembles cotton wool...I wash it once per week, because it doesn't like being washed more often, I use straightener once per week, if I leave it to go curly, I cant get a brush through it....I'm laughing because if you saw my hair you'd honestly think I don't spend a cent on it, when literally its breaking the bank🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@Justyna_N Let's not split hairs over this,😂😂😂. I'm sure you knew exactly what I meant by my description. It's such a pity you feel the need to correct me. That's about you though, not me.
Hi Kate, great video. I Love My GHD flat iron. I’ve had three and they’ve quit working right about 2 years. This is perfect timing because I’ve been asking myself “which would Kate recommend” I know you like GHD, too. My GHD just quit last week. I’m going to try the T3. I have thick frizzy hair.
