I couldn't figure out how to take my light bulb out. And I knew it was gonna be so simple. PLUS, at the same time I knew it's so easy to break something if you don't know what you're doing (and break a bracket, clip, housing, cord, etc). So a quick RU-vid search, I found your video, and THANK YOU SIR, you're the man!
Mate you saved me today. I was trying to figure out how to take it out on my Territory 2012 and was scratching my head. Thank you. Much appreciated. Twist clockwise.. got it!! Globe changed successfully. Thumbs up!
Thanks for the video. Helped out a lot. I found that you only grab the back (black part) to get the bulb out. At first I was actually holding onto the bracket it clips into and trying to turn it. Was very easy once I realized which part to twist.
Thanks man. Just rto clarify its actually ANTI-clockwise to get them off. I actually found reseating them in was hardest of all. I don't know why manufacturers make a task so hard, cuts up your hands etc.
Oh my goodness, thank you thank you thank you thank you. This was doing my head in. Once I watched the video bulb changed in no time (once I trusted your comment about clockwise!!!!). Thanks again
Hi Nathan, thankyou very much for this,I have a 2005 Territory but they are very similar and you sent me on my way as I was stuck and was going no where, your Video put me in the right direction so Im ver grateful....:-)
Thanks for the video. Just a couple of clarifications for my 2016 Territory. To get the globe assembly out you need to twist it anticlockwise when looking from the back. There was a grey connector assembly parked in the top of the headlight assembly which I slid towards the back of the car temporarily to get it out of the way. I needled 2 screwdrivers to pry the actual globe out of the globe assembly once I had twisted it out from the back of the lamp. It just pulls straight out but it is a very tight fit so if you pull on the glass bit it will probably break. Use a handkerchief so you don't touch the glass bit of the new bulb when you push it in. The notch in the metal flange around the globe will only let you plug it all the way in, one way. Look carefully first. When twisting the globe assembly back in to the lamp be patient as it is tricky. Find a torch have a good look. Twist it clockwise when looking from the back of the lamp. It should lock in nicely without too much effort but if it is not aligned nicely it will not twist in. Patience required unless you do this all the time. Good luck.
Bloody hell, seems like you had a bit of bad luck. Mine was easy I’m comparison. The plug was hard on the passenger side, but once that was out, everything was a piece of piss.
Yeah, it’s seems there’s a real lack in turbo diesel Territory videos, hence why I’ve been posting more about my Territory. Glad you liked the video mate
Hey Mate. I have a 2013 Terry Diesel. I'm in the process of changing all my bulbs from incandescent to LEDs. My Turn signals in the back are twice as bright, My brake lights are brighter. and I replaced the round fog lights in the front to Daytime running lights which are also LEDs They look amazing. My next step is to do the front indicators and the headlights, the side markers/turn signals, and finally the interior lights. All LED. The only problem I have encountered is some interference in the radio signal. Only on some stations for some reason. Thanks for the video.
Great tip about removing the electrical clip above the headlight, pity I didn't check this video out earlier as my thumb would still be working. Cheers
Thanks for the helpful video. Just a head up when removing the globe from the cabling. Two screw drivers under the metal section on both sides... watch that metal disc... mine went flying into the engine bay abiss. I’ve spent several hours looking for it with no luck... car wreckers I guess for me.
7306mark mate, I spent too bloody long messing around with it, pulling shit apart and breaking stuff, but when I figured it out, I thought, surely other Territory owners have the same problem. So I just made a video
@@NathanR1995 yeah im too heavy handed and am always worried about breaking clips etc and making the situation more hassle. Glad you did the video as i was trying to work around cluster and it wasnt working for me.
Thanks for the video What i have been looking for is HOW to Replace the entire headlight assembly. Looks easy enough EXCEPT i fear the bolt at the bottom of the assembly may require removing the bumper completely , which is required on a Ba falcon and is a crazy design feature. Someone suggested that to replace the indicator globe is done by going thru the wheel arch and the head light assembly bolt may also be assessable that way as well. DOES anyone know if this is so ????
Thank you for the video. I would recommend wearing some thin cotton gloves while doing it did that you don't get your hands cut up as much. Either that or hiring an oompa loompa with double jointed elbows to do the job for you (they haven't designed easy access to the globes!)
I’m guessing you’ve solved this by now but by plastic retainer do you mean the floppy plastic backing? The rest of it’s pretty metallic but all of them except the twist part just need to be jimmied out. Hope that helps
Thanks for the video mate. But technically to get it out you go anti clockwise, NOT clockwise. It should be explained as if you are behind the headlight, not in front of it. Cheers
Good on you. Still wrong tho (technically). Ill give an example; If you want to replace your driver side headlight, just cause youre standing in front of it and seems to be on your left side, you dont say "i need left hand side headlight" because then they'll send you passenger side headlight. Call couple of wreckers and dealerships then you will find out. Cheers
Yes true, technically I’d should say drivers side or passengers side. In this instance, it has no importance, as you can see what side I’m on, and this is a very simple video to help people. Nothing fancy as you can see
Ad Aussiedude yeah, I though so too, pulled the whole thing apart, broke a clip and I though it was some fancy xenyx light, but xenyx is just a fancy word for the glass. Just takes a normal H globe like any other car.
Amanda Matthews once you’ve remove the spring clip, the globe holder will pull out, then with clean gloves on, push and twist the globe to get it out. Then put it back together the way you took it out
The oils on your skin do not "Damage the halogen". They leave hot spots on the glass, which causes the said spot to be weaker. And you didn't show anything about the indicator globes? Haha
Nigel I’m no automotive globe specialist, nor do I consider myself a pro in any automotive regard. The point still stands that you should wear gloves and avoid touching the glass. As for indicators, I probably should have explained that while I was at it, but being that I didn’t need to change them, I didn’t think to show that in the video. Thanks for your comment mate
