Another helpful tip (or rather, an alternative) might be to do a curb stall and jump 180 from that :) because that allows to practice the act of landing onto the coping and maintaining the balance before turning and making the small jump to180! (at least I found this to be the case :) )
I’m here reporting back after trying and having success! I’m beyond stoked. I practiced my fakie stance on the stall before making the full 180 and that warmed me up to it. I used my arms as a steering wheel to make sure I turned. So much fun! Thank you Shorty
I'm pretty sure I'm ready to start learning this but it's so scary, especially the part when it comes to shifting your body axis into the transition before you jump 🥵 goals are to work on this and fakie stalls next weekend at Maunganui, or at least pick up some more tips and confidence!
How important is it to jump in the same direction as your leading foot? Can you jump both ways even if you always lead with the same foot? Thanks for your tutorials!! They're the best!
One problem I running into is that I naturally want to 180 turning away from my dominant leading foot. I am right foot leading and I carve right but my body organically wants to turn left to 180?? Would it be easier for me to learn to 180 turning into my leading side? Or go with what feels natural? Hope that makes sense!
Go what feels natural. But learning to spin both directions or switch feet will be very helpful for future tricks. But you'll always have a preferred way.
@@ShortysSkateSeries, I think I have seen you skating before at 뚝섬. I guess it was last year. You were practicing stalls with rollerskates on the double quarterpipe there. Also, do you also inline skate? I remember a girl who looked like you practicing grinds with inline skates on a low wooden box. I was very surprised to see this video. Yesterday, I was skating all day at 한양 and then when I got home I looked at RU-vid and this was the first video that RU-vid suggested for me. As I was watching it, I was like, "Hey wait a minute! That is 한양!" and then when I look at your face closely, I realized you were the girl that I saw skating last year at 뚝섬 :) this is me at 한양. I am fifty years old and fifty pounds overweight, so this is the best I can do :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BAFsF7qsX08.html
