I can't even do the first step because after I click on uninstall, a window mcaffee window pops up (only a quarter of it is visible) I can't get to the uninstall confirm because it is cropped off. The minimize feature is available and the close window square is available and nothing else.
I've been having this exact issue and I have no idea how to get around it. Even trying to use the executable has to go through this pop-up which literally isn't giving me the button necessary.
same here might someone be intelligent enough to give a solution Edit: I found the solution lol, go to the "C:\Program Files (x86)\McAfee" and in there u will find the uninstaller. Go to its properties and under compatibility, change run compatibility for windows 7 and save. Run the uninstaller this time and voila.
press tab, if it doesnt work keep trying. exit everything open uninstaller or app settings and try again someone told me to do iot and it didnt work. i tried one last time spamming it and eventually the window scrolled uninstall button appeared.
they’re right! Thank you for the help!! *TIP* (click the tiny window that pops up, hold the window with your mouse and press “tab” on your keyboard at the same time) pops it up easy
Hii can I ask something? After deleting the app does it cancel the subscription automatically? There have been cases where I've seen some people's subscriptions still being renewed without the user's consent (some say the charges were put on their credit)
@@glasylysa6790in my case I never provided cc info so I won’t be charged. If you ever has a subscription you should double check your subscription status
Wow the second way with the Revo uninstaller was the only way it worked for me. Thanks soooo much. It was amazing. I had tried before 5 times with the tool thinking I was doing it correctly but the second way did the job. YAYAYAYA. Thanks a billion. FL USA
Thank you so very much for this video. I would never have been able to sort this out without it. Our new laptop was being inundated with McAffee nonsense until we did this. I have used the technique on my older laptop too and it has deleted loads of files off that one too. You think that when you uninstall the McAffee App it all goes but clearly it doesn't. So thank you.
Can you help please? I uninstalled the pre-installed McAfee bloatware with Revo, but it is still in my computer and on the task manager as working. It does not show up as an app in Revo or the Win 10 System uninstaller. I have downloaded the McAfee MCPR software and ran it, but it it runs for a while then ends saying incomplete uninstallation Timeout, no response from mccleanup.exe. Any ideas what I can do next??? This is more like a virus than anti-virus software!
I doubt you still need this, but explore the FreshStart option. If you removed mcafee the wrong way, not only is it broken but it also broke Defender and Security Center.
Why are there no laws against such absurd behavior of McAfee to install on our computers. I tried all the ways but could not get rid of it. What can I do (except cursing the company)?
You need to do a fresh start... Choose to keep your files but remove all pre-installed apps. You'll then get only Windows back and no bloatware, no mcafee.
When you went to apps to uninstall your pop up is different from mines. Mines would get smaller then you can't expand the stupid page it created. You just see exclusive offer. The "-" & "X" options my only options. I'm going to see if I can find a way to Expand the stupid page man
mcafree removal tool did not work for me. Do you think a company whose anti virus so stubbornly clings on to the computer will let it get uninstalled by its own uninstaller ? No way.
There really needs to be a class action lawsuit because I had no choice but to prepay for this thing bundled with Dell xps8950. I never wanted it because I saw how it behaved at work. It literally nags and pops up every few minutes and filters every site and slows everything to a crawl even with 32 GB of ram. The day it expires is the day I will remove every single trace of this thing. I am just pissed that you have to open a command window to do it. THEY REALLY SHOULD BE SUed.
I agree with you 100% on McAfee being sued over this ridiculousness. I never installed it, it came as a freeloader with another update somewhere. I have been trying for 2 months to remove it to no avail. I have contacted McAfee and they suggested the same as the video but doesn't work. I refuse to give McAfee my card information!
This all wrong. Starting by downloading and running such an executable file. What you want is to Fresh Start your PC as soon as you bring it home for the first time. This WILL not only remove mcafee but, if you select the right option on the Fresh Start screen (remove pre-installed apps), you will get rid of ALL bloatware. Then you should access your recovery partition and remove the mcafee installation files using powershell or cmd prompt. That's how it's done IF you only want your machine with windows, without falling for your manufacturer's treason.
