Your an amazing mamma! A trick thats currently working for us, (we go through phases when things work) is having the tantruming toddler count to ten with me. She usually joins in around 3 or 4 and by 10 she's calm enough to do deep breaths. Thought it would be an idea to try if you ever need another tool 💖
Omg this is how my toddler is, it’s hard bc he carries out sometimes for a long time ... again he’s really good with others usually only acts like this with myself or my husband but he is a handful and very stubborn he’s always been very head strong. Good job momma, I hope one day he will understand and cut back on these tantrums
Hello I'm very new into this gentle parenting technique. My toddler is 2. I'm having such a hard time when it comes to getting him into his car seat. Can you give an example of gentle parenting when a toddler is absolutely fighting sitting down but we also have places to go. Usually I'm yelling sit down and wrestling him into his seat and my husband will try and distract with rewards " sit down and we can get icecream or sit down and I'll buy you a toy. " both options aren't working one because yelling does nothing and two always Giving treats or rewards for simple instructions is gonna cause problems too. I feel at a loss. How do I gentle parent a strong willed boy !?
Nope there are things that are non negotiable “you are going to be buckled because it keeps you safe. Would you like to help mommy?” And then buckle them in. If they scream- you can say “I understand you are frustrated but if we are in the car- you have to be buckled”
