How to get a better image from your fpv cam settings

Fpv Camera settings are often over looked. Even if they are supposed to come out of the box setup already. I suggest using some of these tips to better dial in your camera, cause after all you can't fly fpv without it!

The Runcam has a dedicated 2 pin socket just for the Cameras OSD...It comes with a 2 pin lead, just like the Foxeer...Why would you think it did not have a dedicated OSD lead..?

The eagle 2 comes with an extension cable for the OSD port just like the foxeer. I use it on both my quads.

Most of the camera models from runcam come with the extension. They decided to make it a plug because not everyone needs it on all the time. I also like the controllers for the runcam better. its a nice toggle instead of a board.

It's exactly the same and the runcam dongle is way better than the exposed on from foxeer. It's also weird that you can't see scraggle in the eagle. The only issue I had with the eagle was the latency and they fixed that in the eagle 2. Maybe you turned off WDR on your eagle? The foxeer monster seemed way too dark. I used the mini Swift now because it seems to balance out latency with image quality and weight.

Runcam cams come with the OSD "pigtail" too... At least Eagle 2 does. Good tutorial for FPV cameras. Not many out there.

on the runcam swift 2 i also comes with one of those connecters to change settings just that it is able to come off not part of the whole port. In some situations it is better but you can just use it the way the foxeer does

Just some info you may not know based on this video: There are Flight controllers out and coming out that are utilizing the Betaflight functionality of camera settings control through the Betaflight OSD. One specifically is the CL_Racing F4 "S"

I built a tiny whoop track in my basement with some LED and UV gates, but I´m having huge problems with being blinded by the lights. Can you make adjustment to the stock cameras on quads like the UK65, HB65 or Beta65?

The Runcam colour saturation is too much for me. Been using the Foxeer 1177 in my Vortex 250 and its never let me down yet. Foxeer Micros next on my hit list.

Man, I got 5 of these camera and the weird thing I notice they all have a slightly different result even when I'm running same settings on them. At times I think my standard HS1177 have a better result.

Great Video Eric, I agree with everything you said, Concerning the contrast, if you drop it a bit lower, around 104 -110 then you can fly directly into sunlite without having your image completely washed out. This is a trick I learned from FinalglideAus (Chad) from Rotor Riot. Also it is worth mentioning that replacing the lens with a GOPRO lens imoproves the colors and make the image look brighter and crisper to me. I usually have a few of these on hand, they run about 6 to 7 bucks and its nice in case you smash a lens during flight. They also come in various FOV 120 deg up to 150 deg which are the ones I like so I can uptilt the camera to 45 or 50 deg and still see the ground for landing.

yeah I like the foxeer board still need to do cam control mod. if it was just one wire it would be done but have to find a resistor right value lol with cmos cams cut back the dnr digital noise reduction I think its called it can helps see branches on some cams. llol fly in all blk/wh for a classic feel and faster brain calculation of image lol theory not fact but might make some have better response time.

Im using the foxeer monster at the moment. I had to get a hs1177 case for it so it fit my frame though. i keep forgetting to take the controller with me to change the settings. its so washed out at the moment.

Wow thanks for responding so fast. I have tried it with my goggles and with a alternate VRX for android. I havent been able to get any sound from it. I couldnt find any adjustment for it or even a hole for the mic. I have a QAV210 and just have it attached to the quad by the camera plates that come with the frame. I know my goggles will record sound cause I have recorded a friends flight with a runcam and mic.

Eric Konasty the vtx says it is capable. I will double check the wiring. I am using a foxeer switcher.

One thing you might want to check is; which audio channel (L or R) the camera, and the vtx are using. Some use left, and some use right. If they don't match between camera and vtx, you'll get no audio.

I have this foxeer arrow v3 (my first fullsised fpv cam) and if there is low sun over the trees and i look into the sun i cant see annything , is that normal or can i do something about that?

I did the mod on a run cam eagle and a swift. It's a dream! Should work on the Foxeer aswell. From the look of things I like the Run cam remote better...
