Yup, but damn there's so much more in this podcast that it's a must listen. So I hope people don't just read this comment without listening to the podcast because they would be missing on out a lot. That's 2 hours of high quality content and insight.
I have played against him on WSOP.com and something isn't right because he plays as if he can see my cards. Every bluff, raise, or call that is good but was 3rd pair on a triple barrel. Value betting thinly and then overfolding rivers seems like two contrary pieces of advice. That would be great advice to get people to bet a lot of rivers with marginal hands and when he raises you on the river to fold. Seems like he could just print money that way. I don't trust him. Betting with marginal hands I don't think is ideal or profitable. Most of the time you are only going to be called by a hand that beats you and if they have nothing they will fold anyway. There's no value in betting. It's horrible advice done on purpose so that he can exploit you. I don't trust him.
@@randomBBL you cant trust a world class poker player because he has good reads and is better?? Thin value is something ALL of the best recommend (and do often, if you watch poker). Thin value and folding rivers are not at all contradictory. You're not going to beat an Olivier Bousquet with the above analysis, you dont sound like you're doing the work to beat an Olivier Bousquet
@Bencb So cool to see that you: a role model to a lot of us is so impressed and overwhelmed by meeting and interviewing your role model. Makes you even more relatable
Olivier was my idol when i started playing online poker husng 10 years ago. He has been so inspiring for my career and i can relate to a lot of stuff hes been throught like inside anger. Thank you so much Ben for providing such a great discussion. You are reals inpirering heros
I played with Olivier at the same table in 2020 WPT Niagara Falls, $2500 event, and I must say he plays very well, and his approach to poker is something I can definitely relate to. What an awesome guy, I am a fan.
Sunlight and Vitamin D3! Couldn't agree more with Olivier here. He's spot on with how important it is and how you can absolutely feel better just by spending 20-30 minutes a day walking - first thing in the morning or right before bed.
Another amazing inspirational video ! Olivier is such a huge motivation for not just being better in poker game , but also in physical and mental aspects of your life . Thanks , Ben ! 👍🏻
I got the most value out of listening to these two thoughtful men discuss the non-poker subject matter, which contributes greatly to their (and your) success in poker.
Love to ee 2 different poker players who started in 2 different eras of poker discussing topics like this. Could of listened to 2 more hours and still would listen more
Really powerful this episode, there is so much to be gained from this conversation. What i will bring to heart, as im on my first year off playing poker for a living, is the importance of balance with playing and keeping a life away from the table with exercise and eating better. This is prolly the first time i've ever heard such a deep and thoughtful conversation from 2 really experienced players and i thank you both for sharing this with us and helping our mental game improve !! Thank you Ben and Oliver ❤
I think the conversation around 35:00 is very interesting, to me it highlights how it was so very easy for many of the oldschool pros to fall behind the curve of the new understanding of poker. Many of the old pros, especially live MTT players, got by simply by their natural gamesense and experience as well as live reads, and when they didn't keep up with the new way of playing and studying poker, they all disappeared.
I was oliviers friend at the time he was fired from his work for playing poker and living off $5 2 slice pizza and can of coke diet, $2600 manhattan condo rent. He was a super cool dude, still seems cool. Always wishing you the best froggie . Glad we have moved past the degen and the consumption and are living healthy lives now. @olivier_busquet
Awesome podcast. Learned a lot in the past 1 or 2 year about happiness, psychology of happiness, living the present moment etc. Books like Eckhart Tolle Power of Now or Flow by Csikszentmihalyi helped a lot. Still sometimes its very hard to find the right attitude. Here in the podcast even Olivier said that people never live in the moment, they do something to get somewhere. But then he said that you need new goals after you achieve something. This is also true. When you set a goal its very challenging to live just in the moment, do what you do for the love of the thing you. Its funny to think about it, but lets imagine you set a goal, then you forget about it, delete from you mind and just do what you do because you love it, in the present, experiencing flow. And this way you can perform without any psychological pressure. You need goals but sometimes by setting goals you deny things like flow to appear. What do you guys think about this? You cant be in present, living the moment when you regularly look at you goal, what is in the future. Maybe minimazing the time we spend with looking at our goal is the key.
Wow! absolutely amazing. Big compliments to Olivier for his incredibly strong mindset and for sharing his thoughts and advices. Since I also have 10 years of martial arts experience, I know what it is like to always break your own will anew. Also Many thanks to Ben and Raise your Edge for everything you do and what you stand for! Last but not least, thanks for the tip with the book "Clarity" until now I had always written everything down myself, but this is probably of much higher quality :) Much Love and Greetings, arcos ☺♥
1:03:00 talking about camping. 100% agree. This is a HUGE scumbag move. I am sure MANY of the guys viewing this do it too. Great discussion as always Olivier!
This has been out of this world. And the final sentences from Olivier said it all: "this conversation is motivaiting me to be better". True words, same here. It must be wornderfull to speak to all this type of people, and u are so wonderdfull ben. For sure u are so honest with your aproach, and this podcast, again, make me want to be better again. I have never fasted for 5 days. I will try it out. My only doubt with that has allways been the fact that I am a bit of a actomorfus and it is hard for me to retain muclue (not to gain, but to retain) but lets see what happens. Thanks a lot as allways! amazing podcast! also nice to see you as a child talking with someone u admire xD hahaha
Very interesting people with some very good takes on poker and life in general. Watched the entire thing and at the end Olivier said it's a good thing to find a community around poker if you are serious about it. Might just do that as studying on my own is not always ez, both from the perspective that i do not understand everything that well yet and also just to keep me focussed throughout.
@@RaiseYourEdge self authoring from Jordan Peterson seems like some sort of similar program, perhaps a good tip for people looking for something like Klarheit
How come Alvarado didnt negotiate for a weight cut from Busquet? Unreal he agreed to fight 20lbs lighter, did he atleast got better odds? Thanks for the pod guys, amazing stuff.
Great interview! Watched parts of it and saved for later full view, I see Olivier talks lifestyle a lot and I was wondering what is his nutrition protocol like
Man what a great interview! love the way you set up/cut the video in RU-vid. Olivier has always been a model too as poker player. So i am really pleased to listen this interview:) Thanks Ben

love love love it so much ! its so nice that you do this ben, i have no words. lots of spots sound so recocognizable! have been a olivier fan for years. Love from Amsterdam! Would love to see some hu play vs Adonis ;) like you did with the Goose. Willing to pay for it:)
Ok I always wondered how come you have winning games in jokerstars? When they give you second best hand so they create action,so you bust at the River.
Hi there, ty very much for this free information. Are there any apps or something you could recommend for beginners in meditation? I would really like try it seriously but I am a bit lost as to where to start
