What happens if i admit to the charge?

I GOT SCREWED BACK A FEW YEARS AGO WITH A THEFT UNDER $5000, I WAS STEALING FOOD TO TRY TO FEED MY MOTHER WHO SUFFERS FROM DEPRESSION AND AFTER PAYING HER RENT FROM HER WELFARE CHEQUE DIDNT HAVE ALMOST NOTHING LEFT FOR FOOD. IVE BEEN ON FULL DISABILITY INCOME SINCE 2004, THIS HAPPENED IN 2016. I HAD NO PRIOR RECORD AND ONLY HAD ACCESS TO LEGAL AIDE AND THEY I GOT A CRIMINAL RECORD IN MY MID 30S WITH NO PRIOR RECORD. IS THIS UNLAWFUL AND CAN A MALICIOUS PROSECUTION LIKE THAT BE OVERTURNED AFTER 7 YEARS...

I got charged for petty theft at JCPenney but I was with my 12 years old daughter. I told the police officer i did it because im going to depression and I don't have money to buy the stuff for my daughter. The police only gave me ticket for misdemeanor but he said he was gonna call child service. The only thing this is the second time in 2020 my case was dismissed. Im suffering depression and I don't have any other record. Im very scared and confused. I don't want to loose my professional license and my daughter
