I had the exact same issue. Originally I had pulled back my hijab to show part of my hairline and show my entire face shape. I had it expedited to begin with but 2 weeks on the dot prior to my travel I got a letter in the mail saying I need a signed statement I wear a hijab for religious purposes for daily wear in public, I wouldn’t have time to send that and wait for my passport even though I paid for overnight return. So I called explained my situation and was able to get an appointment the day before my flight which is on Saturday the 24th. So hopefully I can get my passport in person on time, with all the stuff they asked me to do, and a supportive letter from the Imam.

I pray the Almighty helps get a green card I want to apply for one so I'm watching this so I can know how to wear my hijab when I go for the photos

Been more than a month after I submitted my application for passport renewal. I called several times for status as I need to travel in a week. Today I received a letter telling me that my photo cannot be accepted because the head gear (hijab) is not showing my facial expressions fully.They are asking for statement explaining the hijab. I am planning to get an appointment and go to their office directly and I plan to bring the statement and a new picture just in case. I thought for a sec to remove my hijab but I would be taking the easy path if I do that.

Urgent ++++ My brother is applying for citizenship a month ago. But currently he will apply for food stamps for his low income and affordable housing for his left eye problem. Will there be any problem in getting his USA passport?

I never had any issue with getting my passport with hijab on. I didn't have to do any shifting of hijab or anything. Maybe because my driver's license photo is with hijab also?? I don't know. But I didn't have any issues at all. I just put in my passport photos with hijab, my license and birth certificate. It went great. Now I will say one thing... For my license, they did need a bit more of my forehead showing. I had to push my hijab back a bit more from my forehead. So for my passport photo, I just did the same thing. I hope this helps. But I never had any issues. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@@raniaye Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. Oh no. My hairline was definitely not showing. If it were, I would have not agreed since I refuse to show any hair at all. I haven't had to renew my passport since I got it. If you have anymore questions, please feel free and I'll try my best to answer them. ☺️💐
