@@jameschristopher8643 i have no problem at all with the allmother, but valstrax in the other hand… for the love of god that thing murdered me in just seconds
@@Kevin-rv8br that could be true ..... but also maybe just Malzeno is immune to them and other Elders are at best resistant to it .... maybe a future update would feature afflicted Teo,Cham,Kush exc as a result of not just a upsurge of Quirio but also from having to constantly fight afflicted monsters
A warning about Afflicted Rathian - it has the highest HP of any monster in the game as of this video being posted....with one player, it can have upwards of 80,000 HP. With four, you're looking at over 315,000. That's well over TWICE the amount of health the final boss has! Edit: On single player, the final boss actually has only 3,000-4,000 less than health than Afflicted Rathian. But when scaled up for four players, the final boss has ~150,000 HP, while Rathian has the aforementioned 315,000! I changed my comment to reflect this. 2nd Edit: 2 months later, Capcom has reworked the HP scaling for Afflicted monsters and introduced Anomaly Investigations. Now the Anomaly Quest version of Afflicted Rathian only tops out at just shy of 200,000 on average, even with 4 players. Meanwhile, even the bulkiest A5* monsters in Anomaly Investigations won't go above 300,000 HP with four players.
Rathian is alright. One of the easiest of the bunch for the scale farm. Her head is just massive weakpoint and still pretty ez to stunlock atleast with sns, ig, and hh. I dunno with other weaps tho
@@Millanno37 i wish they would make a follow up video fixing the misinformation they spread with this video. But they still haven’t and it sucks for people. Also the car plunder doesn’t work for afflicted parts either
I know I'm late but let me clear out 2 things: 1- Quest Rewarding boost skills doesn't affect how much afflicted items you get from rewards.they only affect the regular quest rewards. 2- Severing tails with Carving Master is better than breakable tails as you'll get 2 chances of carving an afflicted item from the tail as well as 4 chances on the body. In short; best way to farm afflicted materials is by utilizing the two only skills "Partbreaker" + "Carving Master" while looking for monsters with more breakable parts INCLUDING tail severing as you'll get 2 chances out of it. Note: afflicted blue crab (Shogun) backshell break well have a 20% chance for each unique shell break (total of 3 shell shapes) so it's good for farming.
I've definitely noticed that Element seems effective with these hunts, since ANY bonus damage you can get on hitzones not as weak to raw will go a long way in ensuring the breaks and flinches you want
Eh not really. Low raw hitzones are mostly low element hitzones too. Partbreaker is a better boost if you're aiming for breaks, rather than forcing element on a raw focused weapon for example
Judging from the anomaly quest list capping at A4 and the title updates saying Powered Up Monsters. I dread when we have to face Afflcited Kushala Daora.
@@wiiu-theunderratedconsole7569 Your right. If I remember, Elder Dragons control life force, Qurios absorb life force... But if other elder dragons could control Qurios like Malzeno... That would be way scarier than an aflicted monster.
@@josuemassa2027 Yes, if I remember properly the Gaismagorm tried to send the Qurios as a poisoned gift to the Malzeno to kill it but he managed to control the Qurios instead.
@@user-hv6nl3cz1z Funny enough I guess I never hunted an afflicted solo, because after reaching MR 70+ and hunting at least 25 afflicted monsters it only just popped up (i guess bc it pauses your game to make u read it)
@@Zanbatoss btw if you wanna know a secret tip Try making a normal/pierce build for the diablos hbg Its insanely strong The 2nd last upgrade has 400 raw and 450 with power barrel Idek how much the last rarity 10 one has but its insane for wyverneye sniping too with the high raw
Worth noting, you can get those aflicted parts from shiny drops as well, so taking a golden bug and a friendly Rajang, smack the monster around a little and loot. Also, in general, the helmet slot dosnt have too many great options when it comes to damage, mostly Astalos and Shaggy, the other helmets are used for utility, so giving up your helmet for an extra carve isnt that huge of a sacrifice. You can also just run a support build to mitigate the fact that you are barly contributing to the hunt, everyone like a support hunter in their group, so they wont give you shit for not dealing that good of damage.
Hahahaha 1. The f*** you talking about, so Kaiser helm with 3 crit eye, 1 crit boost and 3 level 1 is utility? And lunagaron help 2 crit eye, white bug whisper and 2 level 2 is not damage? 2. You CAN NOT GET AFFLICTED PART FROM SHINY DROPS. You can only get them from carves(including tail carves), bonus rewards, and part breaks. Cat, good luck and other skills like dango skill DO NOT GIVE YOU AFFLICTED PART. Please stop giving out misinformation when obviously you have no idea what you are talking about. educate yourself before trying to teach others.
These are the monsters I recommend: These monsters I think are pretty easy to hunt and compare to other monsters these monsters are in low end of HP scaling Afflicted Bone - Arzuros Afflicted Pelt - Great Izuchi Afflicted Monster Bone - Barroth Afflicted Blood - Khezu / Tetranodon (highest amount of hp out of all the blood drop monsters but pretty easy hunt) Afflicted Scale - Anjanath Afflicted Shell - Blood Orange Bishaten (shogun Ceanataur has the least amount of HP so if you like crab hunts, hunt Shogun) Afflicted Fang - Garangolm Afflicted Claw - Almudron
Sadly something I’ve noticed with the afflicted monsters is that it’s similar to the hyper system from Generations, though with two exceptions 1) Anomaly burst 2) Qurio spots for extra damage And that’s all I’ve seen. Same kinda boring tweaks, larger healthpools, bloated damage as well, and where the Qurio spots can generate on a monster makes specific weapons have almost a disadvantage while fighting them. Yes I do understand it’s the endgame challenge for hunters to grind, but being one shot from some random attack while it feels like you do little to no damage in return leaves a sour taste to be honest
@@Simbaninogaming shut up, Greatsword counter doesn't negate all damage. Just because you play longsword doesn't mean everyone's moveset revolves around counters
CB Mains you can make a Ibushi/Narwa mixed set that comes with most essential CB skills and to top if all off it comes with Partbreaker 3 and Good Luck from Thunder Alignment
@@divineyuki519 Ibushi/Narwa sets have to be the full set to work. Because of how the set bonus works, the set is only any sort of decent when you max out the set bonus.
I'm pretty sure afflicted parts you get from carves are an "as well as" deal. As in, every carve has a chance to also give an afflicted part AS WELL AS the regular bit you get. I think. I'm pretty sure, anyway, I could swear that's how it went when I carved some off.
Something that isn't made clear in the video: Is the afflicted materials rewarded from breaking monster parts apply for all the monster's breakable parts? If it does, then logically it's better to aim for monsters with the most breakable parts whenever you want to farm each material. Like say between Nargacuga and Magnamalo, Nargacuga has 4 breakable parts while Magnamalo has 5 breakable parts. Meaning if you can handle afflicted Magnamalo then he offers you better chances to get extra afflicted parts from partbreaking Or a more extreme example between Tetranadon and Khezu for Afflicted Blood. Tetranadon has 6 breakable parts iirc: head, beak, back, both arms and stomach Khezu has 3 breakable parts: head, wing, legs
Also, I'd like some people to test more things like: Does exhaust works on Afflicted monsters or are they constantly in enraged mode outside of being knocked down into derilius state? And if they're constantly enraged then does skill like Agitator will be one of the best against them because it'll have the highest uptime?
He does state that it's 20% from each part broken and to go after monsters with more breakable parts. It was made pretty clear. He never says anything about breaking specific parts.
This will be useful when I actually get round to doing one ^^ I've just beat the final boss about 10 minutes after writing this comment, A) Beyond impressed, B) When do I actually unlock layered armor because I can't see the option for it?
@@zeriul09 Ahh. Thank you. everywhere I was reading said that it unlocks at MR 8. I'll just hunt the final boss again and I should get to MR 10. (I mean, I got from 6 to 8 against him so it can't be too difficult in the beginning)
@@OdesThundagod then you might of be seeing things cuz that is not possible. Gather cats or any cats can’t get any afflicted parts. They are only awarded as extra quest reward, carving and breaking parts. No shiny drops or any other means. Please do not spread incorrect information.
@@Zanbatoss Since its using the carve tables, which has roughly 1/5 chance to get afflicted parts, it's bound to be rare with cats using plunder 1-2 times per hunt.
Man you talk too much There is no way to farm You’re saying just play it normally And you waited till the last couple of minutes to say which monster has which part
good hint video, i will likely just keep going cluster HBG on these since this kills so fast, i even cheesed the final boss with it. just need a mega potion every now and then to keep health high so i dont get finished off. i also do LBG and dont have much trouble. with cluster spam partbreak might not even be needed, this kills valstrax, malzeno and gore magala's charged states plenty fast as well. might seem hard to use against the first two since theyre fast but just sheild tank everything and you dont need to be afraid of much
@@monkeybooger4999 no problem, im still playing. for cluster bombs i use felyne artillery, if i run out of clusters i just use normal 3/ spread 3 until the monster flees, then go to camp to refill cluster bombs. Make sure to keep proper reserves in the storage as well for bomberries and such too just be careful online with this, ive had some people rage quit but they mightve been annoyed with the monster as well idk. some really rage and others laugh it off (which is good to see, as i feel better about it when someones just laughing it off and having fun i enjoy it online more but not everyone will sadly). if it really comes down to it though you can just tell them to let you know if theyre too annoyed, i also do this as a kindness and precaution measure and of course, wyvern ammo on a topple or sleep trigger as well. some people think its weak but for a normal players who cant safely run meta its actually a big help. i saved a lot of time on my solo hunts doing this so id know

I don't like the afflicted monsters. I don't understand why they give you such little rewards despite the difficulty. Besides that just don't care for the idea. I really wish they would have come up with something else. I'd honestly rather do rampage after experiencing it but to each their own.
@@Simbaninogaming Not really. I would say that a solid casual set is going to have a bit lower dps and might make these monsters take 20 minutes, they have enough health for that to be somewhat normal. Honestly just stop being toxic, not every single person has to conform to the meta.
