How do you prefer to travel from the airport in Bangkok? By taxi or by Airport Rail Link?

Rail link unless you have a ton of luggage but then I would say pack less. If you have one suitcase and say a backpack then rail link for sure. Although if you arrive late when rail is not operating then Taxi but make sure to not get ripped off.

We have 5 people with 5 suitcases , will a large taxi be ok ?and we would be travelling to Samyan area at around 8.30pm what would be expect to pay?

Only 4 people fit in a normal taxi. I think you should order 2 taxi's or 1 minivan. The price from Suvarnabhumi Airport to the city centre is about 300-400 THB

These are not regulated taxi but it's pretty easy to complain about them as you get a ''complain hotline phone number'' on your receipt

So If I have 2 large suitcases it will cost 200 baht + 50 Baht Driver surcharge + Basic Meter charge 35 bhat + toll charge 75 Baht. Say I want to go to Sathorn area. Is it fair to say It will cost 500 Baht ? or does it cost more? Thank you so much

On average a taxi ride from the airport to the city centre cost around 300 to 500 THB

I think it starting at 35(automatically when turn on meter)the meter keeps going up depend on the distance of your destination(+everything else you mention above)
