Thought that I would have to go buy a steamer for my backdrops. Appreciate this video thank you! :) I also liked how your video was straight to the point ! Thanks again!
Looks like I'm six years late (video date 2/9/2016, current date 2/12/2022) but THANK YOU! When I initially bought my muslins I also invested in a hand-held steamer that took forever and got minimal results. Now, after a couple of moves, I'm setting up my home studio after the backdrops have been folded/stored for several years. This process is so simple and effective!
Craig Doby I don't usually post or record on RU-vid. Mostly a consumer, not a contributor. My area of expertise is upholstery , your tutorial was necessary for before and after pics.
Great tip. (I have been using a steamer, didn't know any different.) Saw on another video to use warm or hot water, and you can also use one of those weed sprayers (+/- $20) to cover a large area quickly. Yes it works!
Wow! 1:40 into it I can see a dramatic difference!!! I watched all kinds of these video's just now for my drape's because first of all, I have 7 set's in our living room that I was able to wash and dry however, I can't iron having a shoulder that's weak from a past shoulder surgery and my other shoulder going in for a surgery shortly and hurts really bad so, I can't thank you enough for this! It should have occurred to me to try it too because this is how I remove wall paper and paste etc and that works like a charm! Thanks again :)
Wow, I am thankful to hearing that it makes so good to hear your story. Thanks for the feedback and I hope you enjoyed the video. Please like and subscribe if the video helped you.
Better than fixing in photoshop. Thank you sir!. You just gained a new subscriber. I have exact backdrop I stopped using due to wrinkles. Will put it back in use now.
Hopefully it helped out. I did this for folks who dont have a busget. I will be doing more of this type of cinema. Please subscribe and hit the notification if this helped out boss.
I was debating whether I should get a Muslin backdrop or Seamless paper. I was a little skeptical about the Muslin because I wasn’t sure how to get the wrinkles out. And seamless papers can be so expensive! This was so helpful. Thank you so much for this video!
I am so happy that I was able to help out. The paper will helpful when we get more money in our bank accounts. So far, I've used this backdrop and it made its money back. I now shoot heavily outdoors tho. Send me a link to your work!
I highly appreciate you for tuning in. Make sure to subscribe and I'll sub back. Also, I'd love to follow you and your work. I am In contact with a lot of artist this way.
It should, what material is it? I help other photographers around the world on fb. You can always follow me there too! Keep learning and always have your camera 💪
Craig Doby no I don’t I’m just starting out getting all the stuff my backdrop had came in today and I was like hmm how do I get out these wrinkles and went straight to RU-vid
@@craigdoby3397 my channel is called Influential PMO. It’s about project management, but in most recent videos I have a very smart, uncreased backdrop - thanks to you 👍 Until I found your video I was attempting to use an iron and ironing board on a 3m x 4m backdrop 😂 so thank you again
I just tried on mine and it still has wrinkles :( . Live the video and yours worked , but what do you think ? Should I just try again ? Hotter water ? Or just a crappy backdrop you think ?
great video bro i just did this and it did not really work to well any advice? i just sprayed it like you did but mine still has the same amount of wrinkles
Buy a portable steamer…. People keep saying they want to avoid buying a steamer but the damn thing costs $30-$40…. I have only used a steamer but I can appreciate this Brother sharing his method with the warm water and spray bottle. I can only vision things being wet and if im doing a paid photo gig theres no way im spraying a bunch of water all over the backdrop… Thats just me though. Keep working and best wishes to everybody!!! Peace
A steamer would work. However, this is only for muslin, premium polyester, contton type of background.DON'T do it to your thin vinyl background ( most of the background selling online.
Brandi Jones omg... I think it was just the standard material.... Its been a while. Its not the Muslin backdrop. Sheet material. Im in a photoshoot rn So Im texting fast. Ill respond later if this doesnt help. Thank you for your question!
