I submitted my application for the global entry on April 19, 2022 and thanks to the quick process of being “conditionally approved” on April 21, 2022 and a last-minute cancellation at my nearby airport; I went to my interview yesterday April 27, 2022 and received my “APPROVED” status email yesterday evening. I am also a black female solo traveler and will be traveling to the Cayman Islands by myself July 23 through July 29, 2022😎😎

Congratulations!! I am a black female solo traveler as well! I was approved for Global entry, but I have to travel out of state for my appointment. My appointment is scheduled for October 31 out of Miami...heading to Dominican Republic the next day 😂✌🏾🇺🇸 Update... I ended up traveling back home from DR to Indiana. I was going through Customs in Miami and asked to have my Global Entry interview then. I waited about 30min, had the interview and am now in the Global Entry program! If you are conditionally approved you can just show up in Miami to complete.
I thank God I just applied like on Tuesday of this week and now it is Saturday and I got conditionally approved! I'm so excited all I need is my appointment plus it was free with my credit card :)
I just applied and I'm so excited!! One important piece of information. There are a lot of credit cards that will refund you for Global Entry or TSA application fee. I have United Explorer Mileage Plus and they offer that extra perk :)
Applied in early August 2022. I was conditionally approved the next day. Unfortunately there were no available appointments anywhere close to Houston (where I live). However, Laredo Texas had abundant appointments and was even accepting walk-ins. Took a passport and my Tx DL. Some conversational chit-chat while we did fingerprints and photo for the ID card. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes.
thank you. you were very helpful...i applied in early august of '21 and was expecting an email of something...your video inspired me to go online/call them and i found out i was conditionally approved and was able to set up an interview early January "22...thanks for the heads up...i already have the TSA pre approval, which i just renewed and paid the $85. when i applied for global entry, i realized that was also included...of course after i paid $100...oh well...lol...thanks again.

They asked me to confirm my address and my mailing address and any arrests/convictions. That was all they asked. I just received an approval email today at 1:00 pm. I applied on October 11, 2021, and I just got notice this morning that it was conditionally approved and I was very lucky to get an appointment for tomorrow. Hopefully, it doesn't take me long to get the card!
I went to my Global Entry interview & was asked about past arrests. All the cases were dismissed & the records are sealed. They were all considered violations & infractions. Once I told him what they were for. He said that it was no big deal & that it didn't even pop up on my background check.
I applied 2 weeks ago and just waiting to hear back from them. I thought that I would mention that if the interview is going to be around your birthday, schedule it for just after your birthday. They base the 5 year membership starting with the next birthday after your membership is complete. If you wait, you will get an almost 6 year membership
I was really concerned with renewing Global Entry, because it could take 6 to 12 months per their website and it was impossible to get an interview appointment. August 2022, I submitted renewal application (took 2 hours to fill out everything + $100 payment) on a Wednesday afternoon. Friday morning, I received an email that my application was conditionally approved. I logged into my account immediately and by 8AM I had a Zoom appointment confirmed for the same day. By 1PM Friday, my Zoom interview was complete. I'm told that my renewal has been approved and the new card will be in the mail shortly. So if you are renewing GE, check your email early in the morning every day after you've submitted your application and get the appointment scheduled as soon as you are allowed. I'm told by the the officer that the appointments were filled up very very quickly when they released the appointments! Good luck everyone!

That said - - I booked an appointment online, all the way on the other side of the country; in New York. I just flew to JFK in New York, and The appointment was probably only 5 minutes, and I was approved on the spot and given a number on the spot. Thank you for all of your advice.

If you live in a state that bordered with Canada look into Canada's NEXUS Program also. I live in Wasgington state and have both. This way I can fly into or out of Canada internationally giving me more travel options. Make sure the Canadian airport you want to use is an approved NEXUS one. I my got Global Entry & NEXUS at the same appointment in 2018.

They have just announced that Australians will be able to get GE from next year. Starting with people who have flown to the US 5times or more in the past year. Then for the rest of us from mid year. I think we have to be interviewed at the US Consulate or Embassy.
Hi Kim! I really appreciate the details in the video. I have TSA pre-check currently, but now that I have a valid passport; I went ahead and applied for Global Entry. My pre-check expires next year, but if I am approved for GE, I don't think that I would need to renew. The application process did not give me a space to add my pre-check info, but I will have it ready and available for my interview if needed. Looking forward to traveling abroad again in November, 2023. Fortunately, I only had 1 address and 1 employer to list in the past 5 years, so it wasn't as lengthy a process for me.

I just applied during the weekend then got the approval this morning. I saw schedules backed up until July, I was shocked cause I have an international flight in August. I checked Monday morning then there was an opening next day! I guess someone canceled.
I was lucky. From appointment to card took less than two months. I had to drive 3 hours to the interview location and my interview itself was less than 10 minutes and I was approved on the spot. I have heard people have not even gotten the conditionally approval yet....YIKES!!

Thank you for the information you have provided. I did sign up for the global entry and was conditionally approved the next day and I schedule for my interview there were no available openings at my airport. So I schedule an appointment for Feb 2023 in another city 4 hours away from me. Luckily I went back out to the website that evening, and my airport had an openings in December 2022 so I reschedule my appointment.

After Global Entry became available for Dutch citizens on June 28th of this year, I applied on July 7th :-) I gave permission for the background check to local authorities on July 11th and I'm just hoping it won't take too long :-) My next trip to the US is scheduled for November 9th and I hope I'll have my conditionally approved status by then, so I can do my interview upon arrival in Atlanta. With me being a foreign national, it'll be interesting to see what type of questions they'll ask me, compared to those asked of US citizens.

It’s easier and faster if you do EOA (enrollment on arrival )When you return from a international trip i did this in Miami international they have a list of airports that do this check to see if an airport near you does EOA. super fast took 5min took my picture fingerprinted me asked a few questions told me a few things and I was on my way when you arrive at immigration there is a separate line for EOA and they will direct you to it and that’s it !!!

I think it was because I hadn’t declared it. And typically, you aren’t allowed to bring things like meat products into the country. (It was a ham sandwich I think.)

Hi!! Thank you so much for watching! 💕I absolutely can. So basically, when you're going into a country, there are certain rules around what you can bring and what you can't bring. In the US, we are really not supposed to bring things like meats, poultry, some plants, etc. without first declaring them. In my case, I did something stupid. Instead of leaving the sandwich that I did not want to eat on the plane, I took it with me in the hopes that I would find a trash can to throw it out before I got to customs. Well, I couldn't find one so I when it was my time to go through customs I told the officer that I had this sandwich and if she could point me to a trashcan so I could throw it out. Honestly, this is so stupid and I really know way better but I don't know what I was thinking. So in turn, she thought I was trying to violate customs and bring something in that was prohibited and put it on my record. When I simply was just trying to throw it out. So don't be like me. 😂😂

The best change in renewal vs new application is that the renewal interview can be done via Zoom. Appointments are much easier to get and you don't have to deal with the hassle of an airport / port of entry.

Hi Jermaine! Thank you for watching! 💕This is a difficult question to answer because I think it depends, primarily, on your enrollment center. I’ve heard of ppl getting conditionally approved in two weeks or less and others who have been waiting for months. 😩I personally wouldn’t suggest getting TSA Precheck since GE comes with it. I would try calling your nearest enrollment center and asking if they know how quickly people are getting conditionally approved. It’s just so hard to tell since the waiting times seem to be all over the place. Keep checking the website though to track your application’s progress. I hope this helps a little. 😬💕
Hello! Thank you for this video. It's super informative! Just like you, I move around a lot due to my husbands job. Currently we live in American Samoa and I'm looking into applying for the Global Entry program. I have a question and I'm hoping you can help me with it. My only concern is my address situation here in American Samoa. It sounds odd, but houses/buildings here in this American territory doesn't have addresses. If I were to ask for directions here on the island, they give me directions by landmark, and if I get packages sent to me, we get them sent to PO Boxes here. So I'm wondering wha should I put down for my address here since it is non-existent. Nor do I have any electric bills here that are under my name, because electricity here is on a "pay as you go" basis. I hope that all makes sense. Hoping to hear back from you soon :)
Hi there!!! I'm so sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you! 😩 Have you gotten any new info? Wow! This is a tough one and truthfully, I have no idea. Which is the nearest enrollment center to you? My suggestion would be to call them and ask them what you should do. That's what I would consider doing first and then take it from there depending on what they say. Let me know how it goes. I'm sorry I don't have any more concrete or actionable steps. 💕
Don‘t want to brag, but I was really surprised on how fadt the entire process was, especially since they say on the website that conditional approval may take anywhere between 90 days and 6 months. Since I‘m not a US citizen but from a country which is eligible for Global Entry as well, I needed pre-approval from my local federal police agency, which cost another $100. They say that can take several weeks as well, but got the OK to register at the Global Entry website in less than 12 hours. After that, it was again less than 12 hours to get conditional approval from CBP. I think you used to have a year to apply for an interview appointment from that point, but I was just informed that I had 720 days or almost 2 years. That tells me that the interviews probably are the big bottlenecks now. For me, the first available date in Orlando (where my next vacation takes me) would have been mid june 2022, and it was literally the obly appointment available that month, so I probably got lucky and someone just cancelled. Luckily, they offer the option now to do the interview whenever you arrive internationally at many airports instead of the regular immigrations process you normally do and there is no appointment needed for that, so I will do that on my next arrival in the US in May.

Hi there! It’s because they thought that I was trying to bring meat into the US. Every country has different laws and restrictions concerning what can and cannot be brought into the country. The US prohibits and restricts meats and some vegetables. So because I had a ham sandwich (which I should have just left on the plane), they thought I was trying to break restrictions and bring it into the country. Hope this helps! Safe travels! 💕
Kind of a random question, lol. But do you know if they have any rules for the picture you take at the interview? I can’t find info anywhere other than no hats. Which, duh, lol. But are headbands ok? Bangs? Clip? Is it the same rules as passport photos? Thank you!
Hi Nia! As far as I know they don’t. I haven’t heard of anything. My assumption would be to go by the passport photo rules. And worse comes to worse, in some cases, the officer doing the interview might be the one taking the picture (this was the case in my interview) and you can run any questions you have by them. Whenever I return to USA from abroad and I scan my US passport I get a receipt with a big X on it and I have to go thru manual Customs Check. Can I apply for the GE? Or should I go to a CBP office to erase any pervious issues before I apply for the GE?
Hi Ataur! Hmm, I'm not sure what you mean? If you're returning into the US, you can follow the signs to Global Entry Enrollment on Arrival if you have already been conditionally approved and can do your interview then. But if you haven't applied yet, you would have to do that first online. I'm not sure what previous issues you're talking about? Could you elaborate?
@@KRodCollective Hi, many years ago I brought some Asian Vegetable seeds into the USA, I had declared that at the port of entry, probably Chicago O’Hare, I handed the Customs Authority the seeds and they confiscated them, at the same time they also probably recorded the incidence. Since then every time I go to foreign country and when I return I scan my passport in the kiosk I get a printed receipt back with a corner-to-corner X on it, indicating I must go thru a thorough checking including my luggage contents before I exit the port of entry. This also happens when I return to USA from Canada by car. I was wondering if there is a way to erase this record from their database? Do not know if I apply for a GE whether they are going to approve it.

Hi Gaby! I do believe that’s possible. I’m pretty sure if you live outside of the US, they can send it to your closest Enrollment center and you can pick it up for there. I applied for global over a year ago, I finally got my conditional approval a few days ago. There is zero appointments available locally so I am driving 3 hours to the closest location. I'm so confuse why some people get approved so quickly and why some take soo long. Also is transporting food/sandwiches to another country against the law?
Did you have your appointment yet? I think it depends on the location and how backed up that enrollment center is. It took me over a year to get mine. A friend of mine recently got her's and it took her over a year as well. But some ppl have commented that it took them a matter of days or weeks. Hmm, depending on the customs and laws in that particular country, you cannot bring it certain meats and plants, especially if you did not declare it. 💕

Hi Uriel! Regarding you mom, I'm not sure if I would mention it simply because Global Entry is an individual thing and I wouldn't think your mom being deported would have any affect on if you get it or not. But I could be wrong. Be sure to check out the GE website for more. Safe travels! 💕
For a college student, should I include the dorms I lived in as well? They weren't considered my permanent residences because I still had mail being delivered to my actual home in my home town.

Hi Dana! Were you able to figure it out? So there should be a calendar for your specific enrollment center, the same one you used to book your initial appointment, that should show you all of the upcoming appointments. If someone has cancelled a free spot will be open and you can go ahead and book it. If you have any doubts, feel free to call your enrollment center. I called mine and they were very helpful. Submit my application on 8/10/22 and got conditionally approved today 11/28/22 found an appointment on February, might change it later if spots open up

Hi! I filled out my application over a year ago but live abroad. I feel like I received notice of conditional approval, but then they changed their online platform. And I never received anything in the mail. Do you happen to know how I could find out my approval number? I want to enroll on arrival on my next trip home but am sure I will need some sort of number or evidence that I have conditional approval.
If you don’t see anything on the dashboard I would call your local enrollment center. There should be a number when you do a Google search. I’m not sure they’re still offering Zoom interviews as an option for renewals but last I heard they were. Let me know how it goes!! 💕
You have to do the interview first. Then after that you’ll get your Trusted Traveler Number (which you need to add TSA Precheck to your bookings) and Global Entry Card.
Hi there! First, I would check the portal online to see the progress update on your application. If you don’t get much info there, Google or find the closest enrollment center (the one you’ll most likely do your interview at) and call them. You can ask them if they are backed up and let them know you just wanted to check in on your application status. Hope this helps! 💕
Hi Kim! Check the link in the description box. TSA has a list of countries that are eligible for Global Entry, for example, citizens of Argentina. But Global Entry is only recognized in the US as it's a US program.
Hi Katie! So if you have already applied, the next step is to wait to be conditionally approved. You can log into your Trusted Traveler account on the website to see where you are in the process. If I’m not wrong, there should be a progress bar in there that will tell you exactly which step you’re on. Once your conditionally approved you can book your interview. Good luck! 💕
Hi, we got a conditional approval and went to schedule an interview but the next available appointment is while we are on our trip! So the guy at ttp told us to check back for cancellations and could change our appointment if one comes up. In the meantime, we have interviews scheduled for after our trip, so when we travel again we should be ok. Your video was extremely helpful. @@katiemartell2471 Yes, check back for cancellations. You just never know. I got my appointment from a cancellation so it’s possible. One might come up before you go. Another option would be to try Enrollment on Arrival. You could see if your airport has it. And if you decide to do it, you could take all of your paperwork with you and have your interview on the way back into the country from Europe. Hi Alex! That’s such a good question. I’m not positive on that one. I think you may have to have another interview. But I think it all depends on the candidate. So all in all, I’m not entirely sure if you have to or not. I’m sorry I couldn’t be more confident on that. LOL
I recently renewed my GE and did not have to do an interview. Basically, you get your original application and mark down any changes in the last 5 years since you have applied. You may or may not have an interview but I got approved within no time and got a new card as well.
So he said "don't do that again?" About which part? Almost forgetting about the sandwich incident or that you had a sandwich and asked a global entry officer to help you dispose of it?
From my understanding, I think he was referring to the fact that I was bringing food, specifically an item with meat, undeclared into the country. Even though I was asking the customs officer to help me dispose of it, I guess they weren't looking at it that way. At least that's how I took what he was saying. LOL I should have just left it on the plane. 🙄💕
@@KRodCollective ahhhh maybe. It was confusing. I do get their reason but at the same time ur literally just being nice and asking for genuine help cuz u couldn't find a trash can anywhere. But at least it wasn't something they noted or wrote u up on.
Hi Eunice!! I’m pretty sure you can pay with any card, debit or credit. There are certain credit cards that will reimburse you for the fee, which is a great option. For example, I know the Chase Sapphire Reserve does. I would look into it. But you can def use any card to pay. 💕

Hey there! Not a problem. All in all, I think my interview itself was only about 10 minutes long. All of my processing was done while I was sitting there in the chair. So they verified my info first, asked me about 4-5 questions, then they took my photo and fingerprints (all while I was still sitting in the chair). And then I was done. So I’d say, for the entire process, I was there for about 30 minutes. Hope this is helpful. 💕

@@KRodCollective Please tell your viewers to call their local Global Entry office as there was some clerical error in reporting the interview. I read about people getting interviewed by a trainee who did not enter if properly..They will reach out today.
