My last trip I stayed 7 days at Harrah's. I'm a Blackjack player and they changed all tables under $100 to 6/5 so I didn't play a single hand at Ceasars the whole trip. I played some other games for about $500 the whole trip. I still accumulated enough points to qualify for Platinum next year. I did this as many people have said... CHARGE EVERYTHING TO YOUR ROOM !!!! 👍
I FINALLY upgraded my Ceasars Rewards card to the Diamond Level. Now I don't pay any resort fees at Ceasars properties. Honestly, the only thing I really do in the casino is play poker. You get points for every hour at the table. Resort fees are a huge expense when I come out to Vegas. This will save me quite a bit.
@@georgesenda1952 That's the bottom line. Casinos are not in the habit of entending more in comps than money spent. Casinos don't care where or how you spend your money as long as they get more than what they give you.
@@georgesenda1952 I regularly play in poker rooms, therefore, I am NOT playing vs. the house. I am playing against people off the street. I am a solid player so I usually come out ahead. I get points based on hours spent at the table, not by how much I spend. Granted, it takes a while to accumulate points by just playing poker but I usually don't lose much so it works out well.
Thanks for the 'plug' Jacob - lol - When I used to live there and when I would have family and/or friends visit, I would just give them extra player's cards (mine of course) to them when they play to accumulate the points. They don't mind since they don't visit often enough to redeem the offers.
Another tip: This last stay I didn't have a room yet to charge to my room and was paying cash at Posh Burger, so I just had them swipe my MLife card to get points credit without charging it to the room. If not charging to your room make sure you give each store, restaurant, etc. your players card if it's in that same network!
was told a long time ago if your not betting $25 a hand at table games you wont be comped comps are based off average bet and length of play. they rate you based on this for comps
One other thing... MGM - and possibly others - do have Veteran's programs. For MGM, they give you a free status upgrade if you show them your DD214 or veterans card at the slot desk.
Yes, Caesars offers Veterans a free upgrade to Platinum status its a special card with salute written on it and colors of American flag. Instantly all Veterans qualify for free rooms (usually during the weekdays when available) and free valet parking. Resort fees still apply and don't forget to tip your valet driver.
all the times we have gone to Vegas rarely we have charged to the room...but thinking back we should have!!! it makes sense to do that because that is money spent, gambling the casino has to pay back some of that...charge charge charge next time we go, thanks Jacob!

Wife and I always stay at NYNY and are not big gamblers. We charge everything we can to our at NYNY or the surrounding MGM properties. Free rooms every trip. It’s been working for years. MLife card works

Always charge everything to your room! Just think about how much you spend on meals, drinks, shopping, ect! If you use your credit card save all receipts!

Before the pandemic, this is what I use to do: Sit down and play blackjack at for example a $10 min table. At around 7pm on Friday, they would raise that table minimum to $25, but since I'm already playing, I get to continue playing the $10 minimum. When the pitboss comes around, they would rate me higher since its a higher limit. Haven't been back since the pandemic, so not sure if it would work anymore.
When you arrive in Vegas, whichever hotel, use the ATM and you will be on everyone's radar. I stay at my timeshare, next door to the South Point, which is NOT affiliated with MLIFE or Wynn to my knowledge. I only played at the South Point and yet I received an amazing comp from MLife (I am a member), multiple free nights at the MGM properties. I'm back in Vegas next month at the Luxor for a week comp'd. Also, when at blackjack, buy in for more than you expect to play and make your initial bet twice the size of your normal bet. The floor person can't watch all of your play, but will likely see your initial bet. Good Luck!
I'm going to the Bellagio at the end of October. They offered me $575 free play, $300 in resort $$ and 4 nights in a free suite with no resort fee. I'm a MGM reward player but didn't play a whole lot. I can't say no. I just had to pay for flight which is dirt cheap.
Great Tips! M Life sent me a credit card offer and they automatically upgraded me to Pearl. I didn't even apply for the card. So I found that interesting.
Some friends of mine and I were eating at a small casino restaurant in the downtown. A young man, busboy, spilled some au jus down the front of my shirt. Within seconds the manager and a security guard were at our table. Of course with release forms. Basically, all I needed was a shirt to wear for the remaining evening. The manager gave me a nice shirt. Then handed me the release form. I told her I would not sign the form if you are going to fire this young man. It was totally an accident. Replied that she wasn’t, so I signed the form. So, one way to get “comped” in a casino is to have an employee accidentally spill something on and you get a free t-shirt

My husband would get another card and we both gamble under just his card which racks up more dollar play on his name. Since we travel together I benefit too from his comps.
I frequently rent cabanas when I go to Vegas, and go all out with food and beverage services and leave a HUDGE cash tip and make sure everyone who served us gets covered, even the ice boy, waitress helpers and busboys get their cut. Same with hotel personnel, Parking, bellboy, ect. Somhow word gets around and while I’m in Vegas, I receive excellent Treatment, and lots of offers for “free” stuff. If you are nice to them in Vegas, they may “act” like they don’t care and not paying attention, But they are.
This is an underrated comment and doesn't just apply to Vegas. You would be amazed at how much free shit you get, and how well you get taken care of just by being nice to people. Tip well, say please and thank you, and make an effort to make life easier for service industry people and they will take good care of you.
Slot play usually earns comps 4-6 times quicker than playing Video Poker and maybe 10x faster than table games. The ratio is slightly different at different properties but those will do as ballpark figures. I actually play more VP than slots because if you know the proper strategy for the version you are playing your money lasts a heck of a lot longer than it will on slots (unless you get really lucky). Playing $2 spins on a slot you can blow through $200 in 20 minutes or less, $200 on a $.25 Video Poker machine will last a long, long time - provided you know what you are doing. So in the end you can usually earn the same or more comps from VP as slots even at the lower rate because you can churn more money over a longer period of time.
Slots vs VP gets about a 5 to 4 ratio on coin in. So if you put $100 in the machine, VP will on average get you about $500 coin in play (total $ bet) where as reels will get you around $400 coin in play on average. VP will likely pay back at around 96% where as reels will pay back at around 93%. The key to maximizing your comp value is to always use your card and to take advantage of any point multiplier days. If you gamble heavily enough, none of this will matter anymore as you will likely be comped most things without anyone giving it much of a thought.
Re mlife... can injust hand my players card in at restaurant when paying bill? Rather than keeping receipts or charging to room?? How long does it take for points to show up on my acct?
I have played at the plaza downtown for years and they have the worst points system and comps if this helps anyone. I play .25 cent keno at max bet and sit for at least 5 to 6 hours and still dont have enough comps for anything. They told me that players rate has nothing to do with room comps or percentages off so be aware of this. Also i play poker a lot at the golden nugget and the comps expire really quick. I had a bunch of comps from 2 previous trips and was told 3 months later that they had expired and i lost all of them. Keep in mind i travel to vegas once every 3 to 4 months. Hope this helps.
Babe Ruthless should probably stop doing that. If the person that is playing hits a hand-pay jackpot she may be on the hook for the IRS for the tax liability. What she is doing is in violation of the rules for most slot clubs and technically the casino could refuse to pay the player their jackpot. Don't think just slipping the card out of the machine will fix that, it's all tracked on the back end, and they have camera evidence too. They don't mess around with stuff like that.

You don’t even have to gamble that much to get 4 comped nights and $100 credits on a MLIFE card. Make sure on a table game you by in with say, $300 even if you don’t play that much and cash out with most of it. It does seem they count slot play more than table games, which is unfortunate. Easier for them to keep track of money and time played I guess. Not as easy to get comps from pit bosses as it used to be as well. Used to be, I’d play craps for 3 hours and ask him for some food so I can keep playing after and they’d give you a meal voucher. Much harder to get now.
$100 bets each spin on the Roulette table will get you the most comps in a very short amount of time. Learn some systems to grind it out. None of that random number shit.
Wasn't there was a court case deciding that putting your slot card in somebody else's machine while they play, even with thier permission was defrauding an innkeeper?
@2:00, this whole comping guests against their non-gambling expenditures thing seems to be in style these days. I don’t think it will last long because it makes no sense. The reason why comps are able to be justified for gambling money spent is that there is no product and very little service in a monetary sense that the guest is receiving for the gambling money spent. If the casino can earn your money without having to give you any products or goods, then it is easy to justify giving free products or goods after the fact.

ON ANOTHER NOTE: It is now official that the US has lifted its restrictions for International Travel, like us Canadians. The problem is...before returning home from Vegas, we would need to have a Co-Vid test done. Would you have any information where we can go to get tested on or near the Las Vegas Strip ( I think it's 48 or 72 hours prior returning home). Would there be Co-vid testing stations?? This would affect all international visitors I imagine, leaving Vegas. We haven't been to Vegas since Feb. 2019 because of Co-Vid and we go every year. I'm also wondering if there would be a charge to be tested there? Please let us ALL KNOW OR CAN FIND OUT if you have any info on this. Making a vacation as hassle free as possible is what would make or break visitors choice to go to the US for vacation. WE ALL appreciate any info you can share with us visitors.
Hi there! Some of the hotels are set up to do Covid testing for a price, the Cosmo is one of them but I know there's more, also I hear it's fairly expensive. I've also been told that Walgreens does them for free but apparently they say they can't guarantee your results will be in time for your flight because of how busy they are. A friend of mine from Canada is there right now and said he is getting a test done at the Orleans for $90 and actually pre--booked the test date and time before even going to Vegas. Hopefully that helps :).
You left out a bunch almost all the casinos have coupon books when you stay there also certain airlines you fly on if you go to the casino like El Cortez they give you matchplay with spirit airlines within 24 hours the d also has it they give you a match play and some free play The plaza has a real good room rates and deals when they have bingo and you don’t even have to play bingo and you still would be ahead 4 nights bingo open bar free while playing 300.00no fees
You would be surprised, a few years ago I played dollar video poker (5 bucks a hand) for about 2 hours at Bellagio and a nicely dressed lady came up to me and gave me her card 'if i needed anything'. I assumed she was a hooker :) She was obviously a host and got me $50 in resort credit and a one night comped suite for my play - at the time I was only about $100 down but obviously they base it on how much you actually play through the machines.
A lot of that information you shared from the users is wrong or misleading because with the m Life card you have to move up in tier in order to get comps I say this as a frequent Vegas visitor since I live pretty close to Vegas and I'm always in Vegas. I do have a m lite players card and I have a player cards to almost all the casinos out there so I understand and I know how the system works and you just don't get comps by spending money. M life has a breakdown on the level of tiers that show how the comps work and how to be eligible for comps
