Getting clients to change their entire brand identity is not always so easy. A lot of them love their "ugly logos" and "ugly colors" and they don't think anything is wrong with it. And sometimes even when they know their logo and colors aren't that great, getting them to change store signs, business cards, all printed materials, all packaging, etc. can be a very costly effort that they might not be in a financial position to do. Smaller companies or mom-and-pops are in a better position to makes such sweeping changes, but when you are dealing with a large corporation or a medium size company, then your efforts towards getting them to change their entire brand identify is likely going to be met with strong resistance. Their business cost is going to be several times more than the cost of a new logo and branding itself.

I’d like to know… regarding the brand identity, shouldn’t it be up to the client to decide how they want to portray their brand? At the end of the day, you’re the designer bringing the visuals to life. Maybe you can do a video on this.

I will do a video on this topic as you are the creative. And you are the one that’s trained. You should get the client brief from them but not let them have the creative reins.

The client cannot know this, just as the client of the dentist cannot know how to receive the best treatment.

@@empirelyricschannel Yes, they will know what you do for them, just like the doctor can tell you what exactly he is doing. But this info is unlikely to affect the process, otherwise, you let the client shoot yourself in the foot :) Different options are possible, but these are all options that you create. Often the way the brand looks and should not look attractive to the client itself, it should work for the target audience only. If the client does not understand something, you will have to educate him. Sometimes it takes 70% of the whole work. But even this is better than if the client goes from you with a low-quality product that was created according to his vision. You are hired as a specialist who knows better than the client, otherwise, you are not needed.
