In our last video we showed you how to give a good pass, now it's time to learn how to receive a pass. There are a lot of situations in hockey when you'll have to get a pass and we cover them all in this video. First we talk about the perfect pass that you can cushion, then a hard pass you have to crack, then how to get bad passes in hockey. It's all covered in this video!

I've never played hockey. I played soccer all my life. My youngest son is into hockey big time and now so is my daughter. Coach Jeremy, you have helped me so much understand the basics and actually help them become better player, progress and ENJOY the game. We now spend about two hours a day playing on a nearby outside hockey ring (sometimes at -40 degrees since we are even higher up north then you) and I am loving every single minute of it. What a beautiful sport! I can't say I'm good at it but I joined a beer league and people think I've stopped playing junior or something like that! You are an amazing coach, you have good teaching skills, you love the game and well, from the bottom of my heart, thank you! Of course I've subscribed to your channel and will use the links you provide to buy hockey stuff! Thanks again!

Another great video. Love the analogy of catching a ball. The breakdowns are very helpful. I would love to see a video on receiving passes while moving. I have trouble catching passes from behind, in head-manning scenarios. Any tips on skating, body positioning to make these passes easier to receive would be appreciated!

Don't look backwards when moving up the ice towards the other teams defense take an angle across the ice instead. I know from experience that looking back like that get you lit up!

awesome videos! At 41 yrs old I literally woke up one morning and decided to learn hockey, and how to skate! Now I'm in my living room with a golf ball and stick working on everything you've shown me :) still waiting for my skates to arrive in the mail. What is the leanest, low profile, simple system to have or build at home to work on skills? a net? or tarp? your pass pro? a hockey mat? I have a basement I can convert into a hockey training zone. but kinda wanna keep it simple easy and cheap for now. I've never even been on the ice, and I'm already getting a good feel for the puck:) I think.

Receiving passes on the forehand is comparatively easy to receiving a pass on the backhand, mainly because of the blade's curve - any tips how to improve receiving passes with the backhand? Many thanks in advance!!

Can you do more slow mo videos shots so we can pick up the movement of the hands, stick, blade, and body? You are teaching the drills so fast in all of your videos, that as a beginner, it's really hard to follow without rewinding and looking at it over and over to get all the nuances. I've never had a coach, and I don't have a lot of money for ice time, so these videos help a lot. Maybe at the end of each of your teaching videos, use slow mo for us beginners who've never been coached, to watch each drill and pick up what we keep missing. Thanks so much for this.

I use youtube's built in settings to replay a lot of his stuff in slow-mo (up to 0.25 speed) which I find helps a lot! FTR, I am also a beginner and all my coaching has been from pals and CJ here

funny... I was thinking the opposite I was wanting to see more of you in full speed firing off shots and catches. To embody that. both slow mo and full speed are great. But when you talk about something doing a few in full speed. I really get the picture :)

I live 30+ mins away from a rink/ league and have no connections of a coach or player but I wanna get into ice hockey. I've been playing roller hockey with my brothers but I wanna learn ice skating and join a league. My parents don't want to drive that far almost every day.
