damn, sounds like you have not had a good experience with the app. That sucks! Luckily I've had a very successful experience with them. Maybe I can help, what did you find didn't work using the app?
@@willsimpsonphoto the issue with thumbtack is that as of August 2022 they have changes their platform, I'm no longer making money. I'm losing money from their shady practices. I was doing well at first but they are ripping us off more and more . I'm in the cleaning industry. It's alot to explain. But please beware !! Straight up crooks !!!
I’ve also had success on the app. You just need a little bit of spare income for the leads. Sometimes leads don’t follow through which sucks, but I usually end up getting profit.
i do a ton of portrait/engagement shoots. That seems to have been very workable. Weddings have been probably the lowest conversion and most expensive leads.
@@PerryGallagher no problem, if you create an account, make sure to use my link in description. We both get a bonus, just use a computer because it wont work on the phone. Once you've created an account then you can log into the app and all should be good.
Loved your video straight to the point no fluff. lol So they offered me the promo 200 for 250, do I need that or can I just upload 100 and go from there. He also said something that package coming with a expert to set up my profile.
So when you first sign up they give you a bonus, if you plan to use the app a bunch i'd recommend the discount. but thats up to you and how much you want to spend. The expert is fine if you need help but setting up the profile is relatively easy lol. As far as payments and handling clients, I use Honeybook which handles all my contracts, proposals, invoices and payments. Here's the video I did on it. Has a huge discount link for Honeybook as well: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-s6ug6RcWOGw.html
Bro how do you close 90% of the leads? I have recieved 15 leads so far and only booked 1. Even after we've built great rapport and I say lets docusign the contract to put the day in the calendar and they say yes they just completely ghost me. Should I not be asking for a contract or deposit and just take their word for it?
Once I get their agreement I tell them that time and date is reserved once 50% is paid then the final payment is due on day of. Then I get their email and send them the contract and invoice. All done through Honeybook (share.honeybook.com/willsimpson). I do have customers who have ghosted before and it ebbs and flows, sometimes more will ghost than others and sometimes more will sign than others. It's all about follow ups as well. and no, never just take word, always get contract and deposit. I don't reserve any date or time until contact and deposit are in.
@@willsimpsonphoto Thanks for your reply man. Ok that makes sense I am doing it right I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t pushing too hard by trying to get the contract and deposit
how do you determine the prices that you charge. I see that thumtack shows you averages for certain services but they seem pretty low. Can I creep on the other photographers on the platform?
you can charge whatever price you want. Thumbtack just shows the client and average so when they select the pros they know an idea of what it will cost. when you talk to the client, you can then tell them what the price will be.
Sorry for the late reply, I just saw the comment! I use Honeybook which handles all my contracts, proposals, invoices and payments. Here's the video I did on it. Has a huge discount link for Honeybook as well: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-s6ug6RcWOGw.html
The thing to remember is that you're only paying for leads for the exact shoots you want and the leads that are coming in are HOT leads. People looking. As far as advertising goes, its the closest thing to direct marketing you're going to get. As i said in the video, I use the service for the majority of my clients.
@@JohnnyJayVisuals i use direct leads. The "opportunities" tab seems to be more expensive and less successful when they respond. So I just manage my weekly "lead spend" so I dont get to crazy and have direct leads on.
@@willsimpsonphoto do you charge a fee for over a certain distance traveled? If so, how do you figure that out? I can get leads that are 2hours away, and you spend half the day driving for a one hour gig....
