john plaid well you CAN own a switchblade, it's just gotta have a >2 in. blade. This includes balisongs too. CA surprisingly has decent knife laws. You can technically legally EDC a sword if you wanted to (so long as it isn't concealed), although you'll probably still be arrested by cops.

@@jonathanaldana4941 Two separate things. You can move from one state to another and back AT WILL. If you resided in more than one state during a tax year, you file returns with both states. You also pay only that portion of your income that you earned while in that state to that state. -- As far as getting a driver's license at the DMV of any state, all you have to do is tell them you are moving there, give them a residential address in that state and show a rent receipt or utility bill to that address in your name. If you have a friend in that state this is easy enough to arrange. Otherwise, a 30 day receipt from an RV park will do. It may take a few weeks to process and send you your license, but that's about it. -- Buying a gun at a gun store requires that you have a driver's license from that state. There may or may not be a waiting period and you may or may not need to show a second proof of residency (like the same bill or receipt discussed above). Texas for example requires neither. -- Once you are done with your endeavor you can "move" back to California as a resident of another state. You can bring in as many off-roster guns as you like under CA law when you do. It doesn't matter if it is obvious that your sole purpose of moving between states is to acquire prohibited firearms. You intent is irrelevant as moving residency and/or domicile between US States is your absolute right as a citizen or permanent resident.

@cdaannngggg Think of it as a bonus! You'll probably PAY LESS to register your car in any other state vs the Democratic People's Republic of California. Nothing stops you from driving a NV or AZ plate car in California. If you get pulled over give the cop your NV license and NV registration. You don't even have to explain anything; the assumption is that you are visiting.
